I, along with many others have experienced tramatic experiences at my dentist which has created a fear of dental work for many years and kept me from regular visits, which didnt help my situation, just created more problems. Recently i had so much pain, side of head, jaw, throbbing, blurred vision you name it I was suffering from it, tried to wait it out, but to no avail did it subside..Some one mentioned ATLANTIC FLORIDA DENTAL INC. in Dania Fl, i called as i had no choice, explained my situation, they had me come right in..saw me right away, Dr Melita evaluated the situation and immediately started the process of a root canal, he sensed my fear and said he would make sure i didnt feel anything, even the novacaine he injected wasnt bad as he swabbed the area quite a bit to numb the area...I was asked if i had dental insurance, which i dont, and sorry to say a very low fixed income, he has asked if i could handle a certain amount, i stated i could, i would have 3 more visits and could pay each time or work something out with a credit program. The price they quoted to me was half of what anyone else here and in New England, where I am from charge, the amount of work was worth far more than what they charged me. As for feeling frightened and worried the staff made me relax, it was like i have known them for years, they went out of their way to make sure i felt comfortable with my situation and most of all to assure me they would not cause me pain. Leo runs the office with the skill and personality of a "mother hen" making sure each patient is treated with respect, kindness, helping to explain, patients fears and the patients financial situations to the office and most of all being there reassuring you that its all going to work out. There are six dentist working there, so you will probably always be seen immediately in an emergency situation and they are open on Saturdays for those working during the week. My doctor was Dr. Salvatore Melita, i couldnt have asked for a more caring dentist, always concerned if i was in pain, tried not to put me in debt due to my fixed income, he listens, hes patient and a very experienced dentist. More important he gained my trust due to his calm and pleasant personality. His assistant Karen, also, gave me the same feeling of trust as she too has the same personality as Dr. Melita and Leo...no doubt, it is a prerequisite to work in this dental office, this goes for all of the staff, which is a good thing for people like you and me who have had a fear of the dentist over the years. I can assure you, being a snowbird, if i have a dental problem up north, it would probably be cost me less and be easier to fly back down and have Dr. Melita do my work..Candida Simmons

This is a very poorly run dental practice. I made an appt well in advance and in doing so offered to send my insurance paperwork but the clerk said it wasnt necessary. I arrived a few mins early and waited 45 mins to be told that they couldnt verify my insurance due to being on hold (phone) I asked why dont they check online and they said they couldnt despite the hold message continually directing them to check insurance status online! Their attitude was this is the way we do it here, we phone I asked why the extensive printed paperwork I had with me showing all my insurance details wasnt sufficient and they said oh you could have printed that from anywhere - ridiculous as it was totally personal to me! I decided to cancel my appt and those I had made for my son. The waiting room was standing room only at this point with clients complaining about being kept waiting. I kinda knew when I arrived and the clerk who was wearing a rock concert T shirt and jeans didnt even look up to greet me despite being inches away from me, he totally ignored me, that this is just a very poorly run dental practice that appears to not value new clients.

Star rating LOL there could not be A HALF of ONE I have been in the Dental industry for almost 20 years A manufacturer What this means is I have been in 100s off dental offices I went in for implants, I was told you must pay the total before any work is done by the office manager, and now I know why. I have many friends that are specialist and the top ones in the USA yes the top cosmetics dentist in the USA. I do not oppose on them as I do not do business with my Dental Buddies. I write reviews for Practices as well. This Dr . Has many unresolved malpractice cases Right to the point; if you want implants forget that place It is a poor environment, they talk as if you can not hear them, one of the fundamentals in 101 dentistry "Shhh the patient just may be listening. I would recommend in the event you do not listen to this post, do not pay like I did get the work completed first as its been a two day job that has turned in to over 3 years and 7 8 9 visits having to physically glue broken implants in my own mouth that these un trained workers do Look Guys Get out of the Dental Industry you give Dental Practitioners a bad name

BEWARE!!! Go to another dentist. In my opinion, Dr. Meskin will tell you he can fix your teeth and make you regret you ever had faith in any dentist! I too am as miserable about my experience with this dentist as the other patients that commented about him. In my opinion he doesnt care what his work looks like, takes no pride in what he does and doesnt care whether youre comfortable with the way your crowns fit or what your teeth look like. He ruined my teeth and my smile. He was ok with my crowns not fitting properly. And now my entire bite is misaligned., crooked and my other teeth are worn down! I went to him more than 15 times, if not more and for almost 2 years hoping that he would correct what he did and he did not. I complained from the first time that the crowns he put in did not feel right and that my bite was way off. I was unable to eat. I was and still am in constant pain. He said my teeth were fine and that he wasnt going to do anything more for me. My teeth are crooked, worn down, I can no longer enjoy the foods I used to eat and I no longer want to smile! Go to another dentist!!! WORST experience ever!!!!

I have medicare. I am allowed 1 x-ray, 1 cleaning and 1 filling per year. While looking at my teeth, Dr Schopler asked me if I had a "dental budget". I told him I have medicare and could only do what medicare allows, which is one cleaning, 1 x-ray and 1 filling. He told me I needed 3 crowns and 2 fillings.I was scheduled for a cleaning and 1 filling the following week. When I went to check out at the desk, the woman at the desk said I owed $200. She said that Dr Schopler had done 2 fillings. I said that I had medicare and had only requested 1 filling. Today, I received a bill for $3,100. He is claiming that 3 crowns, 1 periodontal exam, 2 fillings, a cleaning and 2 other unspecified procedures were done. My medicare insurance company has given me the information to file a grievance and appeal. They will send me to another dentist to prove that the work billed for was not performed. Shady business practice? Will NEVER return to this office.
