While visiting in Florida my pet seemed unwell and I needed to have him seen by a vet. My aunt recommended Newman Veterinary Center, a place shed used in the past. I read several online reviews and called their office to have my dog seen. Everything I read about Newman Veterinary Center (the positive reviews) was true. The staff at check-in were professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. The center was VERY clean and welcoming. They really do offer drinks and snacks for your comfort, free of charge. :) Dr. Armstrong and the assistant Adrienne were absolutely fabulous! They treated my dog, Dexter, as though he was their own pet. They were beyond gentle and kind. Even though Dexter had to be muzzled,he is a biter, they were patient and reassuring with him, never being put off by his growling. They were very capable in handling a difficult dog and situation. Following x-rays and discussing the treatment plan Dr. Armstrong and I made the decision on how best to handle Dexters issue. Never once did I feel that anything was done that was unnecessary or an effort to run up the bill. Dr. Armstrong explained my options and made suggestions based on her experience. She was kind, polite, and well educated. Adrienne was knowledgeable and so loving to Dexter. As for the cost, they are reasonably priced. I knew what the final fee would be before anything was done. Newman offers several ways to pay your bill and I suspect they would work with you if need be. I truly felt that they stood by their slogan, "We loveem like our own" ! If Newman Veterinary Center were in my area, I would use them ALL of the time! The hours of operation Sun-Sat 9am- 1am, make it possible to have vet care almost non-stop. Thank you Newman Veterinary Center for your help.

These people are the most compassionate and efficient I have ever dealt with in the veterinary field. We brought in our very old dog who extremely regrettably had to be put down for reasons too terrible to list in this forum. The ladies at the front desk saw to it that we were brought in the back immediately and we were quickly attended to. The doctor did not put us through a lot of painful questioning and there was no judgment shown whatsoever. With just one look at our poor dog he agreed that there was no other loving option for him. We were treated with the utmost of sympathy and kindness. I held my dog until his last breath and I did not take it well. The doctor was very kind and comforting, and he said all the right things to make it possible for me to let go of my dog so my husband and the assistant could place him in his coffin-shaped container as we had asked to take him home to bury next to his sister who had passed years earlier from a blood issue she had had since she was born. They are together now, and as hard as this has been for me, having just taken place mere days ago, I truly dont believe any other hospital or center could have handled the situation any better and still treated us with such dignity after having to put down a family member who had degenerated so terribly and so quickly. My grown daughter has gotten a new kitten to help her deal with the pain and void she now feels, and she will be bringing her kitten to Newman Veterinary Centers in Deltona as well. This will be our vet for life. Thank you.

Totally agonizing what this Vet. Practice put us through. I have a very sick dog who has been through a lot of tests, procedures and such. I called Friday night out of desperation and spoke to a really nice gal who wanted me to see a Dr. Goldstein at 6 p.m. Saturday. As far as I was concerned, that was an appointment. Yes, she did tell me that appts. weren’t made after 4 p.m., but in my case, again she made an appt. with Dr. Goldstein. We arrived early because I knew there would be paperwork to complete. Waited until about 6:15 when I approached the Receptionist about our appt. time. It was then she told me me and my dog did NOT have an appt. and would be seen in a half hour. She continued to argue the appt. issue vs. not having an appt. We waited until about 7 p.m. with a terribly sick dog. I agonized all day about getting my dog to Dr. Goldstein with hope. Finally, we told them we were going to leave as ½ hour came and went and there was no guarantee when my dog could be seen. Then she asks if I want to talk with the “Manager.” I said yes. Well, the “Manager” was a young male kid who again kept reiterating that they don’t take appts. after 4 p.m. I couldn’t win this argument so I left with my sick dog, who is still sick, but I shall wait until 1st thing tomorrow morning when my regular Vet. opens. I would not recommend this practice at all as they have absolutely no heart.

Thank you so much for your care of our fur baby. He has issues with trust having spent the first year of his life in a cage with his brother & sister in the backyard of a (now closed) backyard breeder. He didnt know love. It has been a slow go but he is coming around, however in new situations he can be a bear. On Monday, we took him for his yearly checkup. He was so frightened that he broke a blood vessel in his eye when the technician brought him into the back. She and Dr. Evers were very patient and caring through it all and managed to take care of our boy without incident. I had not noticed the red eye until the next day when I called to see if he should be checked. The desk person told me to watch him carefully and if the red did not go away to come in to see the eye Dr. (yes they have one). Newman Veterinary was kind enough to comp this visit along with the needed medication even though I had taken full responsibility. My spirits have been lifted by this action in a world where there seems to be little accountability. Thank you for your integrity. I recommend Newman Veterinary to all who love their fur babies as we do.

The "groomer MALICIOUSLY butchered my Shih Tzus hair out of spite !! Hospitalization made my routine grooming appointment delinquent. My wife agreed to drop my Shih Tzu off at the shop for grooming. At check in she requested the regular lamb cut that we always have done but noted to the groomer that we wanted the hair on the body cut a little closer than the last hair cut. This request was met with a case of attitude by the groomer. After the third call in the afternoon I was informed she would not be ready until the end of the day. Some ten hours after drop off my wife is shocked when our Shih Tzu is brought to the pickup desk. The long flowing hair on her head and ears and the traditional oriental flowing beard had been shaved to the skin--to the point of a knick over her eye. In complete disbelief my wife exclaimed her dissatisfaction. The groomer replied with a curt condescending attitude, "you wanted a lamb cut, you got it!!". My telephone call to their corporate office the next day fell upon deaf ears. My Shih Tzu has been groomed at that shop for the past 3 years but never again
