DO NOT EVER GO HERE! THIS WAS THE WORST VET EXPERIENCE EVER! The most Uncompassionate unsensitive people I have ever dealt with in my life! I am new to town and I have a 15-year-old senior pet. We came in knowing that it was maybe time to put him down. After x-rays he told me that is nothing was the matter... Then upon closer inspection he found "something" he sent me home with basically some aspirin .. Meanwhile he found out that my cat had a large tumor and a break in his leg! He did not call me to either check on my pet or let me know what he found! I can tell that my pet was in a extreme pain and it was time to let him go so I brought him in to be put down. The vet was not there when I arrived to put my pet down... So I had the anxiety pof sitting there waiting for him. I paid extra to have my cat tranquilized so we would not have to go through a traumatic experience. The vet Jammed my cat with a needle while I was holding him making him scream repeatedly until he slipped into a coma! ( my cat has had many shots and never cried ) After giving him the initial shot making him scream then walked out and went into the lobby laughing and talking with his girls. When he came in to check on my cat status he pulled him by his Fur on his head! He then gave him the final shot the whole time the girls were laughing and joking not having any compassion for what was going on in the room right next-door! I left in a state of tears of course after the horrible treatment of my pet! Nobody bothered to call to tell me to pick up the ashes so a week later when I called to look for them they said he was there. When I went to pick up my pet he was on the floor in a box with a bunch of other mail like he was nothing! At the time of the original vet appointment putting him down they asked did I want paw prints I said I did not want anything. I simply wanted my pet cremated so that I can put his ashes away. When I open the box they had not only put my cats nose ink after he was deceased and then pressed it repeatedly on pieces of paper ....they put in my box. They also sent me a card of condolence and they did not even get the sex right saying that they hope that I had good times with her ..it was a he. I believe there is a special place in hell for vets like this and as far as his staff... AWFUL

Weve been seeing Dr Schachner for probably a couple of years now and have great things to say about how hes diagnosed our pets. Hes always been very generous and right on the money. My old dog is 16 yo and was having a tremendously difficult time walking. I thought, shes old and I cant let her suffer, it might be time to let her go. Heartbreaking. Took her in and we got xrays and Dr Schachner found a number of problems with both her rear legs. We both agreed shes old, why put her thru surgery and recovery, it would be too much for her. He suggested supplements and suggested I think about trying laser treatments. He said hed give her the first treatment for free and see how it goes. She got her first treatment that day and I started her on Glucosomine and eventually a great supplement they have there called MovoFlex. As Ingrid was doing her first laser treatment she was explaining how the laser works, how it builds up the cells, the immune system, collagen etc., and having somewhat of a medical background I understood fully. I did some research on the laser as well and my dog seemed to be a little better. I decided to purchase a package of laser treatments and my old girl is now into about her 6th week of treatments and she is walking like a CHAMP!! I am beyond thrilled with her progress and cannot - absolutely cannot - thank Dr. Schachner enough for giving her that first treatment for free. As well, my girl has had MRSP (like MRSA) a terrible, and can be deadly reoccurring skin condition, where antibiotics at some point can stop working and then theres nothing left to treat with and eventually euthanasia is the only humane option. My girl has suffered with it off and on for years now and it had been getting worse. Since I started the laser treatment on her - shes not had one outbreak! Not one, her skin is completely clear!! This in itself is simply amazing! Not only is the laser helping her legs but the bacterial condition that I was afraid would eventually take her life too, is now completely under control. Weve not been able to control it completely for years! If Dr S had not offered that first free L treatment, she couldve been gone by now. We are thrilled with how Dr. Schachner has done a great job for our pets and recommend him all the time!

Please dont take your ferret to Dr. Schachner. I don t believe hes ferret knowlegable even though his web site says his office sees ferrets. I told him my ferret had been receiving yearly Deslorelin and melatonin implants, and he asked me why she had received them. Deslorelin and melatonin are medications commonly used in ferrets. I should have left his office at that point. I brought my ferret to his clinic as it seemed she might be having symptoms of low blood sugar/possible insulinoma, common in ferrets. He didnt want to draw blood work to check her blood sugar. He said getting blood work on a ferret is diffficult. Blood work is drawn on ferrets to check a blood sugar to determine insulinoma. He also didnt seem aware prednisone can be used in ferrets with insulinoma. He palpated/felt my ferrets belly/abdomin repeatedly and said she likely had a tumor. When he finished the exam my ferret cried out, turned pale and a large bluish-purple area immediatly showed through the skin of her belly. I said to him, something ruptured in her abdomin. She died less than a minute later in his office.

Dr Schachner is one of the only vets Ive met who truly cares about animals rather than focusing on profit like most the other vets around. He is attentive, has a great demeanor around customers and doesnt speak down to you or try to guilt you into unnecessary tests/procedures as most other vets. Every time Ive brought a monkey to him he has done extensive research to try and determine the best plan of action for bringing the monkey back to health. He then shares the research with me and explains things in a very understandable way. His pricing is also very reasonable. I would recommend him to any friend or family member with pets.

VERY EXPENSIVE. Ive not had a problem with their services as I have taken all 3 of my dogs here. Plus boarded them here from time to time. But it is very expensive. Each time one was sick I spent no less that $500 for tests, x-rays, special food, etc. Once I boarded my dogs and they had gotten into some ticks. I explained that they had recently been washed and dipped and that ticks would be falling off. i boarded them a week and came home to $25 per dog flea/tick collars and extra charges for them having ticks when brought in. No one mentioned any of this or called me before they spent the money!! We havent been back since.
