I was highly recommended to Dr. Cofield by a current patient. I am a 42 year old mother of two and I recently relocated to the area. To say that I was not impressed by my visit is an understatement. I was originally rescheduled from an 11 am to a 3pm due to the birth of a child. When I did arrive, I waited over 2 hours to see the Nurse Practitioner. I understand that things like labor and delivery of other patients takes precedence over an annual exam but the staff should reschedule realistically and not make people wait that long in an exam room. When Stefanie Stafford finally did come into the room, she was condescending and dismissive. We discussed my weight which I am well aware is a problem. I listed all the things I have tried – bariatric surgery included. I explained that I am so afraid to eat anything at this point for fear of gaining weight and not eating hinders weight loss as well. She looked at me and said “Miss Christine, we both know you eat enough, you just eat the wrong things.” I was insulted and angry. She treated me as if it was my very first gynecological exam. Talking down to me, using terms like “scrapey thingy” when she was conducting the pap test and instructing me on breast self-exams after I explained to her that I perform them regularly. She never asked anything – she just dictated. She seemed to hardly listen to a word I said and she was very rushed. I went to this doctor not only to get established with a new provider but also because I had two prescriptions to be refilled, one of which was for anxiety. However, I was told I had to find a primary care doctor for that medication because she could not write the prescription. She did not seem interested in any aspect of WHY I was taking the medication, nor what I would go through if I ran out, just told me to find someone else. Now I am just about out of that medication and trying to find another doctor that I can get in with to obtain a refill. At one point she left the room to get me a pamphlet and came back in to stand there and talk to me while I was completely naked. Humiliating enough that she walked in on me totally nude but to stand there and have a conversation with me is totally unacceptable. That could have waited until I was dressed. As I stated, I have had two children, three surgeries and been to numerous doctors in the past years. This woman is about as bad as they get. She has no bedside manner and should stop and realize that although patients may not have medical backgrounds they do have life experience which should be respected and acknowledged. I will not be returning to this practice, which is disappointing because I have heard such fantastic things about Dr. Cofield. If getting to Dr.Cofield means dealing with this woman again, I will pass. Additionally, I have spoken to other women who have also seen the Nurse Practitioner and relayed similar experiences. Perhaps Dr. Cofield should reevaluate her additional staff before losing any more potential patients.

Hello my name is Tameka Thomas and I normally dont like making response only unless their great about a business. I was so unhappy with how I was treat by her staff even before I had the chance to meet with the doctor. As we all know life is unpredictable and I completely get that deliveries come first priority to the physician. I work 10hr shifts M-T and Fridays are my only days off. I made an appointment three months out and called several times into their office to allow them to know I would be willing to come in if there were any cancellations. They would always tell me "NO" and that everyone has confirmed their appointment with them. The day of my appointment I received a called from the office to inform me that my appointment needed to be reschedule because the doctor would be out of the office for a delivery. I called back to the office and spoke with one of the office staff named Erica. I was very upset that I have waited for three months to get into this office and the day of the appointment get a call about having to reschedule the appointment. Then I was told the next available appointment would be in August. You would have thought that they would have tried to make arrangements for me to get in sooner with the fact that if wasnt on my end that the appointment was rearranged. NO!! Erica, made no efforts to try and accommodate me with an appointment that was sooner then the following month and there was NO apology from here for the inconvenience of having to reschedule my appointment. I work in research and I deal with patients on a daily bases. I clock in with a mind set to keep my potential patients as well as my existing patients happy. I know without them allowing us to service them and take care of their needs, we all could be without jobs. I wanted to speak with the office manager about this matter and hopefully they could implement a better system to handling new patients who are not in delivery like myself. I heard from my office staff that she is a great doctor, but I guess I would have to let the next new patient find this out because I "NO LONGER" have interest for their services. I gave them one star only because the automated system to confirm my appointment was the only good thing about this office!!

Dr Cofield is an amazing Doctor, but the chances of you actually being able to see her are almost 0!!! I have been rescheduled or cancelled by the office 3 times now in the last 6 months. There is no compassion in the staff when they call you, they simply say thats that! Its also almost impossible to speak to someone when you call the office. I know places get busy, and staff cant always answer the phones immediately, but I have sat in the waiting room numerous times and listened to the staff chat about personal things while the phone rings on continuously in the back ground. I work in a doctor office myself so I am aware of how things can get busy, but the way this staff works in the Lake Mary office is just pure laziness in my opinion! I wont say where I work, but we have stopped referring people to her office, and all my coworkers have quit going there as well. Horrible customer service. Dr Cofield should just quit seeing patients in the office all together since it seems she only wants to deliver babies.

Im new to Florida and trying to find an OB/GYN, as Im pregnant. I called this establishment, expecting to get some answers to my questions. Instead, their receptionist continually cuts me off when Im trying to talk; is rude; tells me to have my old OB send my records so they can review them to see if Id be a candidate BEFORE they could possibly give me an appointment. Yeah, no. Sorry lady. But my records are private and I HAVE THEM WITH ME, like i said. Then, to top it off, because I havent been to my doctor in over 2 weeks, they "just cant help me". If I could give a negative star... I would. Not sure how they have any patients left.
