I took my boxer dog there for her annual check up and shots. The facility is clean and the staff was friendly, but a little intimidated by my dog. The vet tech acted a little afraid of my dog, which surprised me a little. I suggested that I leave the room during the exam so maybe that would make it seem like they were more in control. The vet said she did muzzle my dog during the exam, which I understand if anyone felt uneasy, even though I dont like the thought of her being muzzled. I concluded, if the staff felt is was necessary to muzzle my dog to get the job done then it was ok for a short time. My dog does act very nervous and uneasy at the vet so a muzzle may have to be in order, even though I do not like it. All that aside, Dr. Jones was excellent and I was very happy with the amount of time she spent with us going over my dogs health. She made me feel like she really cared about my dog and her health and also made me feel like she was not in a hurry to get us out of there. Dr. Jones took ample time with us, answering all my questions. Overall, I was very happy with Sante Fe Animal Hospital and would highly recommend them.

The staff is friendly and caring. Theyre somewhat expensive but worth every penny and the Doctors do their best to help keep your bills low, while still helping your pets. Our cat has been sick for weeks and weve been taking her here and theyve gone above and beyond trying to figure out whats wrong, Doctor Presnell calling us to talk about treatment and get updates on her condition every few days. Theyre honest with us where other vets offices havent been, and Doctor Presnell is really good with our cat. He seems to genuinely care about her. They talk about everything with you and spend plenty of time actually in the room with you, which seems to be rare for most vet offices. Honestly I would 1000% recommend this place, even if youre hurting for money you can let the Doctor know your situation and see if they can work to keep the bill low and give you multiple options on how to proceed with treatment.

There are three wonderful doctors here with friendly, compassionate and helpful staff. Have been seeing and talking with these doctors and staff for years. Just wish they had Saturday hours because getting my pets in there sometimes is challenging with my work schedule. Thank you, Santa Fe Animal Clinic Brought in a 14 yr. old kitty for serious dental issues with Dr. Jones and kitty is doing well on pain meds and antibiotics. I stressed out over this procedure much more than my kitty did as that concern was all for nothing. Dr. Jones explained in detail what extractions were necessary and kitty is comfortable and doing well. I feel confident Santa Fe has the most competent and caring doctors and staff. I even received a call the following day checking on kitty. All the gals there are super from the front desk to the techs. Thanx again Santa Fe Animal Hospital.

The staff at this place is incredible. From the lovely smiling faces upfront to an excellent collection of doctors who all have an exceptional "bedside manner," at least the three that I have met. My relatively – newly adopted shepherd mix needed heartworm treatment and even though he knew he was going to be "poked and prodded," he couldnt have been happier to show up each time. They are very gentle with and kind to their patients, probably so because they all seem to really love what they do. My little girl is also a patient now. (BTW, The pricing is very reasonable/worth it and the facilities are very clean.) In all honesty, I wish my doctors looked after me so well. Just an honest assessment from a real parent of two happy patients. If you are looking for the best care for your little ones, take your pets here, seriously.

When we moved from Gainesville, FL to Polk City, FL my brother (who is a vet) told me to find a vet who is certified by the AAHA. There arent many in this area but we found Santa Fe Animal Hospital and took our dog and cat for their annual visit. We were very pleased by the cleanliness of the facility as well as the pleasant reception we received. Dr. Presnell was extremely conscientious and thorough with their exams. When we had to put our 18 year old cat to sleep, he couldnt have been more caring and sympathetic. He actually took the time to write us a hand written note expressing his sympathy afterward. I would highly recommend Santa Fe Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a caring, competent and conscientious veterinarian in the Lakeland area.

My love-mush, a mix, or, Cur, has been a patient of Dr. Presnell, for about 4 years. At one point, I also had a Catahoula Cur, who was also a patient at Santa Fe Animal Hospital. Dr. Presnell has always been extremely compassionate and kind to both of them. In addition, he is always available, even on a walk-in basis. Recently, I became very concerned about the weight loss of my Cur, Eco La. Dr. Presnell examined her and explained his assessment and his suggested diagnostic options. His attention to details, attention to my "pocket book" and, most importantly attention to Eco La was extraordinary. We chose one of the options, together, and she is once again at a healthy weight! I highly recommend Dr. Presnell and Santa Fe Animal Hospital!

We have been patients of Dr Presnell for 8 years and love him and his staff. Hegoes above and beyond what some vets do when it comes to researching what is best for your dog. He was one of a few vets who was familiar with both our rare breed dogs: Clumber Spaniels and Skye Terriers, We have referred friends to Santa Fe and all love Dr. Presnell and the staff. When we had to do the hard thing and let one of our dogs go to the birdge, they were so compassionate and treated both Ouiser and me with caring dignity. I wouldnt take my pets to any other veterinary practice, but will have to since we are moving out of state. I will only go to a practice that Dr. Presnell recommends -- and it will be another AAHA accredited practice.

Started going there b/c I found out Dr. Jones was there, but the whole staff seems great. They dealt with the death of my beloved dog very well. She died during the night at home and I brought her there the next morning. And it was gut-wrenching, and the receptionist (I wish I knew her name), made a horrible situation tolerable. She did everything right and made it clear she understood. Dr. Jones then talked to me for at least 20 minutes and provided the closure I needed. And Dr. Jones says all the vets there are great. She has told me not to hesitate to visit the other Docs when she isnt there. So lucky and grateful to have an awesome vet so nearby.

I went to Dr. Hightower after much praise for his skills in orthopedic surgery. My 3 y.o. Pitbull tore his ACL and we went to visit Santa Fe with only the intention of this surgery. I was so impressed with the two doctors and the girls at the front desk that I decided to make them our full time vet office. It is quite evident that everyone shows up to that office each day because they love animals. It didnt take the girls accepting the phone calls long at all to learn my voice and my boys name. Huge plus! Yall are awesome :) These dogs are my world and it is very relieving to know that I can trust everyone involved in their veterinary care.
