My dog was very sick and could barely move. In order to not let him suffer anymore, we brought him here. Once we got here, the doctor, Amanda Clark was already very Stand-offish because we were on edge because our dog was being put to sleep. She insisted that we move our 100 pound rottweiler, who could barely even stand at this point, and slide him across the floor with a leash around his neck. He couldnt even move and they acted like he was going to kill them, choking him while yanking on the leash. We commented and Amanda was very rude. She got up in our faces and told us we could go somewhere else, even though she knew we couldnt, since he was already tranquilized and he didnt have any energy left to stand. After he was finally gone, she stood up and told us we would never be welcome there again. She said we were never allowed to speak to any vets there and she almost got in a fight with us, getting up in our faces and threatening my mother. The vet assistant helped her create a traumatic experience, making this even worse. I will never come back here and I hope Amanda Clark regrets how she treated us for the rest of her entire life. She was very abusive to us and used our dying dog against us. Do NOT come here. The assistants and the vet is incredibly rude and they do NOT care for you, nor your animals, only your money. I hope they do something about that terrible woman.

Im an Iraq Veteran and last week had a difficult decision to make about my ESA, Simon. I grew up in Lake County but I live on the gulf coast. Simon and I had 13 years together and had many adventures but the one Ill remember best is last summers two month tent camping excursion in the high country of Colorado. I always told him he was the best dog ever and where I went, he went as much as possible. I brought him to TAH as a first timer there and everything went as expected and planned. Dr. Huffines, as I told him, was just the doc I was hoping to find. He was gentle, personable and compassionate. Simon seemed to relax right away when he handled him and that made me feel good to know he was relaxed. The techs and environment in general were professional and caring. I took Simons body to my childhood home in the country and spent the week beautifying his grave site forever known as "Simons Garden". When I returned home, here in Palmetto, I had a very thoughtful card waiting for me signed by all the docs. Ill never forget my sweet Simon and the compassion he was surrounded by in his final moments and I highly recommend TAH based on this

We have had two rescue dogs cared for over the past two years by the Tavares Animal Hospital team. They were great handling our 140 Ibs mastidane despite his rather grump demeanor and extremely large size and when we lost him, they showed so much compassion and understanding. Just recently all three vets were involved with the care of our other dog and saved his life. Its not just the vets that make it, although they are brilliant, but the ladies at the front desk to the techs are all amazing and helpful. We have boarded our dogs too. As for cost....well dogs are dogs and they get themselves into trouble every now and again. There is no getting away from the fact that they are expensive. You cant blame the vet for charges for treatment if you havent considered getting insurance for your lovely fur baby. We have spent a fortune but I can say it has been so worth it. The prices here are fair in comparison with other vets and they are willing to work with you. Id rather pay the vets here to care for my animals. I highly recommend them.

The great folks at Tavares Animal Hospital have cared for our animals for years. Each staff person we have ever dealt with has been kind, compassionate and efficient. The very first time we met Dr. Amanda, it was to euthanize our 14 year old flat coated retriever. She was so kind and gentle with my dog and my family that I knew she was the right one to take care of our new flatties when we got them. I wouldnt take my animals anywhere else.
