If it were possible, -100 stars. I am writing in the hope I can save loving pet owners from the terrible hurt and lingering memories of my experience with Colony Plaza Animal Hospital and Dr. Drum. In my 31 years of taking my dogs to veterinarians my experience with Colony Plaza Animal Hospital and Dr. Drum, is the worst experience ever. I took my sweet little Rat Terrier, Beedee, to Dr. Drum on November 25, 2014 because she had blood in her urine. I already had labs done by another vet on October 21, 2014, and that vet faxed the lab results to Dr. Drum’s office. However, the labs had not arrived in time for our appointment. I repeated over and over to Dr. Drum and his staff how upset I was that the other vet never shared lab results with me. I told Dr. Drum we would know more about Beedee’s condition when he finally received the faxed lab results. Dr. Drum’s office received the lab results from the other vet later that very same afternoon of November 25. The next day Dr. Drum left me a voicemail saying Beedee’s urine specific gravity was 1.016 which was slightly below normal and that she had a lot of bacteria which was not unusual as she had a bladder infection. He was negligent because did not inform me of her terminal diagnosis of kidney failure, seeing I didn’t receive the October lab results I didn’t know. I took Beedee to Dr. Drum’s office on December 26 because she was drinking a lot of water and not eating, it was on that appointment that I finally learned of the kidney failure from the labs Dr. Drum obtained on November 25. The only recommendation Dr. Drum had was to change her diet, but because Beedee was deathly allergic to poultry she could not eat the special diet. He asked if she took heart worm prevention medication, I said yes, he said Oh. He neglected to tell me that she should not be taking heart medication do to the kidney failure, I found out on my own after she died. I had to ask about ACE inhibitors. Dr. Drum did not offer any advice or suggestions other than the prescription diet. Even though Dr. Drum’s lack of empathy and compassion was appalling, the worst came when I had to make the heart wrenching decision to let her go. Every other time I had to make this decision it was always very peaceful process and my babies just went to sleep. Dr. Drum’s technician took Beedee into another room and put a catheter into her vein, when she came back she seemed very sleepy. When the tech gave her the drugs she started crying and crying in pain, and I could see the pain in her sweet little face until the drugs took effect. I called Dr. Drum’s office after I got home and asked if they had given her a sedative, they told me NO as they do not give sedatives prior unless the dog is a biter. So now my last memories burned in my mind are of my sweet, loving little dog Beedee, who never hurt anything or anybody, crying in pain until she died. This all happened in January 2015, and I still cry when I think of the pain she endured at Colony Plaza Animal Hospital.

I work here. The best job Ive had in my life. The Drs, Steve Drum (owner) and Leah Girard, are a real pleasure to work with. They are both very knowledgeable and experienced, but arent afraid to put their heads together to help each to care for a patient. A fairly rare quality in a lot of doctors Ive worked with. My fellow technicians and I are a family. We work together perfectly like a well oiled machine. Ok, I am biased on this subject so I could be exaggerating on the "perfect" part, lol. We all always agree that our highest priority is to see that all the fur babies that we get the pleasure of working with are taken care of to the fullest of our abilities. From trying to ease the stress of how scary it is for both the patient and the parent, to ensuring their boarding stay is as comfy as possible (Erica rocks) to making sure care is given as the doctors has requested. We work as a team to support each other by furthering our collective knowledge by not being afraid to share our expertises and give and accept input as peers. The receptionists... I admire how they are able to juggle answering the phone (both lines), checking someone out and greeting anyone that walks in with a pleasant voice & smile, despite the level of stress & multitasking they are undertaking. I love my job . I love my second family, all the people I work with. Just like a family, not everyone gets along all the time every day but when the time comes, we are all there for each other when one of us is down and having a bad day. Just wanted to write a review from the inside. I would have to write so much more to tell the whole story. Thank you for reading.

We are seasonal residents and found Colony Plaza Animal Hospital through a friend who recommended Dr. Drum. We brought our 18-year old Siamese cat with us for the winter. She was deaf, had kidney disease and heart disease. We had to give her medications daily and infuse her on a consistent schedule. Our veterinarian at home wanted us to establish a relationship locally so we could continue to report her stats and have access to refills for meds & supplies. Dr. Drum and staff welcomed us and embraced our aging, medically challenged feline. Sadly, four weeks later we had to say goodbye to our cat. Although we were "newbies", Dr. Drum and staff did everything they could to comfort us and support us during the heartbreak of saying goodbye. We would recommend Colony Plaza Animal Hospital and if/when we have a new four-legged family member, we would return to Dr. Drum.

I took care of my daughters dog for three months and decided to bring him to Dr. Drum for an initial checkup to have information on file during Wicketts stay. The staff was cheerful and helpful for the initial paperwork. Dr. Drum came in shortly and examined Wickett with gentleness and respect. He recommended a tooth cleaning, without pushing, which ultimately was done. I was glad the dental work was done because a problem was resolved during the procedure that, left unattended, potentially could have been worse. Dr. Drum was reassuring when I picked up Wickett and called the next day to check on him. I was impressed that it was the doctor that called, not just a staff member. He also personally called to let me know the results of blood tests. I trust Dr. Drum implicitly and highly recommend him to others.

I have been taking my pets to Colony Plaza Animal Hospital since 2013. During that time the staff and the doctors have always been professional and caring. They not only care about your pet, but they also care about you. In 2016, I experienced the devastating loss of one of my dogs. The the medical treatment she received from the doctors, and staff, was excellent. Unfortunately, it was to no avail. The professional and caring treatment given to her, and myself, during the euthanasia procedure, was something I will always be grateful for. There are other Veterinarian facilities in the area where I live; however, I will continue using Dr. Steve D***, and the Colony Plaza Animal Hospital
