We only have one pair of eyes in our lifetime. After being a patient of Dr. Thayils and Lifetime Vision & Eye Care several times in the past 6 months, hes the ONLY optometrist I want for the rest of my "lifetime." I came to Dr. Thayil when he was at another location much closer to home, and honestly, by accident and out of convenience. Im from NYC and my eye doctor there was one of the most accredited, popular, well-respected, and professional eye doctors in New York, so my expectations may be quite high, but, hey, I only get one pair of eyes! 6 months ago, Dr. Thayil conducted the most thorough vision examination (for both glasses and contacts) that I have ever had. His professionalism, punctuality, knowledge, empathy, patience, and insight are a rarity in medicine, and certainly (and unfortunately) a rarity in southeast Florida. His calming voice and reassuring demeanor characterizes a "bedside" manner that helped me accept both positive and negative news about my vision. During my latest visit, I called Dr. Thayil after noticing a scary bleeding in the white of my right eye (apparently something common-ish called a "Subconjunctival Hemorrhage"). I was able to see him as soon as possible, and was immediately at ease when I was in his examining chair. He did a very thorough examination of my eyes, asked me key questions about what I was doing before and during this event, and then gave me the information that I needed to recover with calm and ease. Dont get me wrong. I hate doctors. They take too long to see you, often talk down to you, make you feel like youre one of many in their herd of patients, cost too much, default to medications, and make you feel like either/both theres nothing wrong with you and/or theres everything wrong with you. At least thats how my last eye doctor was in Pompano Beach. She was terrible, and as such, I avoided going to the eye doctor for years. Yes, I live in northwestern Broward County and travel wherever I need to for great medical care. So when Dr. Thayil changed offices from 2 miles from my house to 22 miles from my house, I followed him. Hes that good! Trust me on this. Hes young, but expert in his field. Hes caring, but will give it to you straight. Hes quite affordable and completely worth every penny. He is quite adept at everything from vision rehabilitation and therapy, to pediatric vision needs, to vision needs for athletes and specialized employees in the workplace. You only have one pair of eyes. Trust me when I tell you that you want only one optometrist to take care of those unique eyes: Dr. Benjamin Thayil (and Lifetime Vision and Eye Care).

I am not big on doctor visits of any kind, especially the eye doctor. I have avoided doctors for a good 20ish years of my life but good ol father time is catching up with me now. At Lifetime Vision and Eyecare, I can honestly say I felt at ease and comfortable. Dr. Thayil and his staff are very personable and professional. The office itself is clean and well kept. Dr. Thayil was exceptionally knowledgable and kind. He made the whole process quick, easy, and dare I say enjoyable?! He displayed extreme patience (Im terrible at those 1 or 2 tests!) and took his time to answer any questions/concerns I had. All in all, I had a beyond pleasant experience. Dr. Thayil and Lifetime Vision & Eyecare have a patient in me for life. :)

He even explained all of the ins and outs of what was happening with my eyes when it came to the technical stuff. Hands down the best experience I have had with an optometrist to date!
