Not Happy!!! I only give it a 1 star because you have to, to start the review. If you are looking into a LTAC do your home work go by and check it out. The first time I went to visit my mom to check on her I stood at the first desk for 15 min or so and no one even greeted me to let me know which room my loved one was in. So I walked around the corner to the next desk Im thinking okay people do work here. I was certain they were all busy handling clients. Okay so far so good. I will only explain my experience the rest of my family will share theirs to follow. We all visited frequently for the fact my loved one was in a coma and could not speak for herself. The case manager was rude as we were trying to decided what the best action plan we were going to carry through with as my mom needs changed she acted as though it was a inconvenience and stared me up and down as she was looking down on me for not knowing how to handle a situation like this. Since this was the first time ever going through something like this. It took my sister in law to put her in her place to get anywhere. One occasion I know for a fact the CNA told me she was the only one working that night. With 31 beds. Who does that. I helped her bath my mom that night. She was very sweet. Later I could tell they were under staffed because just one of my in counter while sitting with my mom for two hours after telling staff she had a bm before they finally came and washed her up. WOW!!!! Not once was I there a time someone would just pop in and say hello this is where we are at today. As a matter of fact the charge nurse said " it is your responsibility to come to us and ask" God forbid they have any compassion In a time like what we were dealing with. They threw away momma special order back brace. After a week of calls they final figured out what they did with it. Not once did they give her a full shower out of her gettinh there over a month. The vibe I got was that this was a place to put someone you dont care if they live or die. A whole in the wall. They never did nail care. I did it myself. Not once did they stimulate her blood flow to her arms and legs and it showed. When I asked I was told "yes you doing this will help." She got bed sores from not properly moving her. Keep in mind she was there ab little over a month. Also I asked about some boots to help correct her drop foot and was told yeah" the best thing is for you to buy her a pair of shoes." When my mom finally left Kindred and went to the rehab closer to home where old school mattress worked. They made several comments about my moms physical appearance "poor condition for her not being taken care of" my mom passed away a week ago from infection. Makes me wonder did they do all they could it was like pulling teeth to get help. She was only at the new place a week when it happend. One other thing we happend to see was that they would just put tap water out of the sink into her feeding bag. Im not sure but I dont think this is right. In closing sorry my mom ever had to go here.

I am a repeat client at kindred hospital in Ocala, FL My first experience with kindred was one that called for me to be admitted multiple times over approximately 18 months. I always was received back with open arms and a genuine concern about how I was doing. the concerns of the staff went much further than the obvious wound or infection. There was a all around approach to the recovery process that included physical, mental and emotional care, which I found to be an absolute necessity for proper healing. The size of the facility is not a large one; holding about 25 or so clients at full capacity, however the level of care can only be rivaled by the biggest and best specialty facilities! Furthermore, the staff have became such intricate part of my life the have become friends/family. After, receiving a clean bill of health I returned to everyday life. Now, approximately 18 month after my discharge I began to have some reoccurrence of an infection and wound ,therefore I sought medical help immediately. after about 6 weeks I was told that the only thing that would help me at that point was surgery. I called the kindred wound care team and was told to return immediately. In about 10 weeks my infections gone, also the wound I had has gone from 130 in volume to 30. I have a bit more healing to do, but I have not had to have any surgery. Thanks to all of the kindred team for all you have done to help me heal Sincerely W.Mains

I made a lot of progress in this facility. I came in on a ventilator, with a wound, and in need of getting stronger. With a week I was off of the ventilator and breathing on my own with only a little oxygen. My wound got better there, but II am finding out that wounds need time to heal. So I am still healing from my belly surgery. My strength was also a big problem. I could barely roll over by myself in bed. By the time I left the girls in rehab had me walking by myself, dressing myself , and feeding myself. I am still in rehab but I should be going home soon. Another thing I was impressed by was how much everyone cared about me. They did not even know me but everybody took care of me like I was very special and very important. I know I was one patient among many but I felt like I was special. If I ever get back there I hope they all know how much I am glad they helped me out.

To be honest, when my son was transferred to kindred I was a little taken aback by the older equipment used and the older style of the hospital floor however dont judge a book by its cover! My son went there in pretty bad shape and within a 30 day period, what a huge difference. The nurses, respiratory, pt and ot were awesome! My son is 25 but is special needs so he is like a child, they usually dont have patients like him but they listened to me and catered to his needs. Everyone was always polite and welcoming, even the guy JOE who works on the machines! He always checked in on my son. Big shout out to Katie Lodge, your awesome! If your loved one ever has to go to a LTAC hospital, this is the place! Thank you kindred
