You may want to think twice about UF Health Cancer Center. I have stayed at many hospitals in the 20 years that my son has endured 2 different cancers and this hospital by far falls well below one star. We were referred to Dr H coming from pediatrics and my son was in a remission at the time, just there for check ups but I was concerned July of 2014 and called many times to explain to the staff and Dr H that something was wrong. The phone system is very difficult and gives you a run around every time. The physicians do not want to be reached nor do they care if there is an emergency. After 2 months of asking for labs and having to do some elsewhere and a cat scan. Dr H finally agreed to see my son and see if there was something going on. He examined him and said hes fine probably just a virus. We would not leave until he looked at the scans that were taken at the Pulmonologist which he gave me attitude about going to look at.. When he came back in he room he had an entirely different look! Yes my son had relapsed with ALL and he had no clue! No apologies and when my son who was now 23 years old reacted poorly with the crushing news, Dr H looked at me and said if he is going to have this attitude I will not treat him! Egos are very important here and Dr H wanted to experiment with a trial I am assuming because he finally found a good candidate for his own merits not because it was the best therapy for my son. I did call a doctor at Shands who called me back late on a Friday night, Dr H never calls you and would not even think of picking up the phone or answering and email on a weekend! Big difference when a doctor goes out of his way to help a patient and that is what the Dr did at Shands. We did continue treatment at Shands and though Dr H did not agree or think he would get in a remission he did. No thanks to UF cancer center. I will say that some of the staff is very nice though they only have a couple rooms that are warm, the rest are very cold and bare with TVs from the 1970s. All the money went into the outside and lobby to attract the investors. The rooms are sterile and the nurses on the cancer floor have a dont care attitude and if you try and find one good luck the halls are empty. We did have a stay there during treatment at Shands because we live here in Orlando. He had an infection and was on chemotherapy and had to be admitted. They did scans to rule out a fungal infection and the Fellow called me to tell me that my son had disease in his spine, liver and kidneys! I said Leukemia is a blood cancer and does not spread to those organs and he said oh its probably spread from the liver cancer he had when he was 4 years old! Ok really is this what they teach and was the radiologist just lazy when he read the scans I never did get a good answer only that no he did not have metastatic disease! I was billed for all this and no excuses were ever given. Just a note if you dont click with a Doctor dont try to change because that is unheard of you get what you get! If you try you will get a nice phone call from the Director of the hospital, Lindsey, who has no clue about the treatment or protocols of the center and she will very abruptly tell you to not come back because all the doctors treat the same there.

Scheduled an appointment for second opinion and inquiry into cutting-edge treatments for recurrent ovarian cancer. Arrived on time with my paperwork pre-filled out and all records had been sent the week before. Waited 2 hours to see the doctor, and the Wi-Fi in the office was worthless so I could not work during the long wait time. I was treated indifferently, and was given no new information. Any questions I had about cutting-edge treatments used at other cancer centers around the country was met with a shrug, and a vague "that might be a treatment in the future." Their solution was the standard, old-fashioned full-body kill-it-all with the usual chemo. Nothing leading edge here, and I feel like I completely wasted my time and money. Too bad they cut their affiliation with MD Andersen. I would not recommend.

My name is Glenn, and I am a patient at Orlando UFHealth Cancer Center, I was admitted with 4th stage kidney cancer, and the truth be told, the Grim Reaper had me in his clutches..... I was on my deathbed when Dr. Bose & his team battled the Reaper, and saved my life. The hospital makes decisions based on humanitarian needs as opposed to other hospitals that prioritize patient care based on hospitals profits. There are no investors on their Board of Directors. at UFhealth Center, they truly care about people first. If you know someone who has cancer, or you have cancer, this is where you want to be, not in a hospital that does cancer as a sideline. Thanks to all at the UFhealth Cancer Center for giving me a second chance at life, and I might add, their after care is second to none.

A week ago, I was told my husband has lung cancer. A week later, we get a call about radiation appt. We have not been able to get our doctor to call us or even discuss the prognosis. We finally get a call from another doctor who was obviously unfamiliar with his case. Informed consent is clearly not something this center has ever heard of. Curious to see how if any one there will be able to give us any information or if theyll just be calling for more credit card information Update: you have 6 months. Dont know what kind of cancer. Here is a hospice. No, we cant be bothered to provide you more info. Go home. Die soon or consultation in 2 weeks. Thank you for the meaningless platitudes, youre so caring.

Might be ok for trauma, but not for cancer! Go to Moffitt or anywhere else and youll be shocked how much more you will learn from doctors instead of only hearing the same old sales pitch with no results. I found the UF cancer center to be one of the worst experiences possible. John Graham is absolutely terrible (screwed up a very painful procedure and was arrogant to the point of confrontation), and even the main doctor was not good (Landau) all about giving a pitch, but barely knows what hes talking about.

The Doctors and the whole staff are extremely professional and the atmosphere is excellent. The treatments I have received has Ben on time always and with out long waits. As long as you are there at the time of your appointment, you dont have to wait at all.I have no complaints and Im very happy with Orlando cancer center.

The most comprehensive care for cancer patients in the World. Im a 10-yr, Stage IV cancer survivor thanks to my doctors, nurses & the wonderful staff here. Both my mother and twin sister have had excellent care. We all expect good outcomes due to the commitment and compassion we experience on a consistent basis!
