Twice now my mother has been admitted to that hospital and has had a bad experience getting discharged. The day she was to be discharged, her nurse came in, changed her bed and told her she could not lay in it any longer and suggested she sit on the chair in the room until she was discharged. A few hours went by, and my father went to the desk to tell the nurse that my mother was still weak, and if they werent going to discharge her, then my mother had to lay back on the bed because she couldnt sit any longer. Isnt she billed as long as shes occupying the room? Second time she was admitted, again the day she is to be discharged, she is seen and okd by two doctors to be discharged. She has one more yet to see her, an OB. At 1pm, they say they paged the OB. At 4pm, I have them check again if she can leave since we had not heard from anyone, but her original doctor advised against her leaving since they were waiting for the OB to give the ok for my mom to go. I had to leave, so my dad stayed with my mom to wait. After 6pm the OB comes in, gives my parents her business card and suggests they go to her office instead. All that waiting for a business card and no medical advice! Please get your priorities straight. Youre there for your patients now, and youll get your paycheck after, dont worry! So treat them with respect, its youre job. Thats why they come to seek your time and advice.

If I could give 0 stars I would. My boyfriends father has been in there since last night and the staff has been uncaring and shows no bedside manner. A nurse was very rude and apologized two hours later but at this point he was in agony and quite frankly we needed her to do her job more than apologize. The PCU facilities have no restrooms in the room for the patients. This is an extreme inconvience as anyone can imagine. The room also had a broken thermostat and it was extremely warm to everyone who walked in there the nurse said she could not change the air in his room. We were offered a fan two hours later by another staff member we waited an hour before I had to go to the desk and ask yet another staff member. It came 30 mins later but he was sweating the whole time. The lack of care or concern is extremely concerning and since entering his condition has worsened. The bed is a flimsy air mattress which upon sitting on you can feel the metal bars underneath. Aside from a few caring staff members (none of which were nurses) I have not witnessed any redeeming quality in this "hospital". UPDATE: he was moved to ICU and has a much more attentive nurse. We are praying that things will continue to look up from here.

The worst! I have never been to a hospital were the front receptionists are rude . Having full blown personal conversations on the phone that nobody needed to hear! Went in at 8 pm wasnt discharge till almost 3 am. They have really bad communication with the RNs . This was the first time I had been here and had the worst experience ever! One reception was upset that people were coming in and was complaining she wanted to eat her yogurt and granola bar in peace. Sorry but they need better receptionists. The RN who discharged me was the best cant complain.

This hospital is the worse er on the planet.I would not take a dog there. All the DRs like to do is talk about you and listen whatever the PA says or the RNs ,tell the driver..I was vapor acted for no good reason and found they thought I o.d but I didnt and the funny thing is all my blood work.urine test and whatever else they did it was all negative. Its amazing how 1 dr can ruin one persons good name.So all ware when you visit a Daycare Hospital..There in the business of putting 72 hour holds on a lot of good people..Please dont go to this hospital

Not room enough here to sing the praises I have for ER as well as experiences after being admitted on several occasions. Cannot understand negative comments. I do not know now, whether they have hospitalist or if your personal doc still visits. THAT might be a different story. Excellent care throughout hospital, great food, sense of humor where and when needed. Would I want to go anywhere else for any medical need??? Nope!!!! Would I go anywhere else? Nope - did not have good experience in Lakeland with trauma head experience!!!

My 86 y.o mother was taking to plant city hospital after a fall , the treatment of her was horrible and a nightmare for her family , no compassion all the way from nurses to doctors. There was extreme negligence and she became septic because they would not start her on antibiotics even though she suffered a horrible would on her leg due to the fall, she died 12 days later , I will not ever go back to that hospital neither will anyone in my family, the only reason I will go back there is to file a complaint with there administration.

All but 1 lady at the reception desk in the Emergency area were very rude. They had constant attitude when I asked a question. And even though they are wearing masks, eye language still speaks volumes. Any time I asked a question they would roll their eyes like Im some dumb person, and then sigh as if Im forcing them do something awful. Only one lady, ONE, was very kind. The rest of the visit wasnt terrible. The speed of service was rather fast and quite nice. I was impressed with how quickly we were seen and taken care of.

Im 8 months pregnant and was transported here in an ambulance because I was in an accident on the freeway. I waited for 7 hours for an ultrasound to see if my baby was still alive!! Was not checked on even though zi came through the ER. Rude and inconsiderate staff!!. The Ultrasound tech Elizabeth was on her phone twice during my ultrasound and didnt explain to me anything about what she was examining so I had to ask questions to clarify. Discharge was an additional 2 hrs. Very unprofessional, you should be ashamed!

Sadly, I have had to be admitted on more than one occasion. I am very happy with the level of care I received each time and I cant say anything bad about this hospital. The ER is nice with very little wait time (I never wait to get back to a bed to see a doc) and the nurses in the ER are very caring. If admitted, youll find doctors and nurses who are full of concern and compassion not only for the patient, but also for the patients family as well.

This is the first time I write a review and is because they deserve it. This is the first time I have been treated so well in a hospital. Their service is excellent! From the moment I got there for my surgery until the moment I left I received an extraordinary customer service. The nurses, staff, and doctors were all amazing. Thank you very much for everything. I highly recommend South Baptist Hospital.

I was very optimistic about the care my son would receive in the ER after reading the reviews that were posted. Needless to say we were very disappointed! If someone is vomiting and suffering from dehydration why would you send them home without IV rehydration? That led us to another trip to the ER in Brandon!!
