There are many good dermatologist in St Augustine. To be blunt; CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE! I dont feel this office is competent or trustworthy. On March 1st I went to Dr. Kantors office where his PA, Kristine Waters did a biopsy of a small area on my left breast. On the 10th of March, Alex Mosh (who I was later told was the Path Nurse) called me and told me that my diagnosis was "Squamous Cell Carcinoma in situ". On 20 March, I had the outpatient surgery with another doctor. On the 22nd of March I received another call from Alex Mosh. She said my biopsy had been "re-stained and that it was negative. Id had the surgery two days before. I asked her why no one had called me, no one had indicated there was ever a question of carcinoma. I told her I was very upset and that I wanted to talk to the doctor. I also over the next couple of days asked for both path reports and all visit notes from Dr. Kantors office. His staff denied me my own medical information, even after I physically went to the office and requested it. As I told Alex, there is something wrong with this picture. How could it have been skin cancer on the 10th and two weeks later, negative? Dr. Kantor called this pass weekend; treated me like I just didnt understand and said he would send the information I had been requesting. What I received yesterday (Apr 3,17) was clearly a "cover your butt" note. He wrote this long explanation dated 14 March saying he planned to refer me to the doctor Id already been to for removal. He did not refer me; my Primary Care doctor referred me. He states that THE PATIENT WILL CALL AND LET ME KNOW IF SHE HAS TROUBLE GETTING INTO DR. OFFICE. This conversation never happened. Another false statement says Dr. Kantor was having specimen restained and consulted out as he advised the patient he would do. This was signed by Alex Mosh and is also NOT TRUE! I have now two additional path reports, the initial one did not support the findings at Dr. Kantors office and amazingly the second indicates a Keratosis just as the first one did but adds there raises the POSSIBILITY of LATER carcinoma arising in inflamed Seborrheic Keratosis. I know that there are several specific avenues to pursue in the event of misdiagnosis. I have not decided what I choose to do at this time but there are definitely problems in that office. I agree with others that the staff are condescending, rude and on the cusp of incompetent. I want to be able to trust my doctor and it is obvious that I can not trust Dr. Kantor. Read the rest of the reviews here. You will notice that immediately after a negative review is posted there will be one that is excellent...interesting the order of these postings. Who are they? HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING TO THIS OFFICE GET A SECOND OPINION. THEY ADMITTED MINE WAS WRONG AND THEN I SAW ANOTHER WOMAN WITH A MISDIAGNOSIS JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER. SHE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS GETTING HER RECORDS TO TAKE THEM TO HER MOHN PHYSICIAN. EVIDENTLY THE STAFF DID NOT WANT HER SEE ANOTHER DOCTOR. CHECK THIS OUT..HER ENTRY WOULD NAVE BEEN IN APRIL.

I tried to get my grandmother in to see Dr. Kantor because I heard so many wonderful things about him. It took me six weeks to get an appointment and when they called to confirm it, they told me I was seeing a physicians assistance. I questioned the staff member because I would have never made an appointment with the PA for her first visit. She has had several serious skin cancers removed and a problem area that warranted a visit with the doctor. The woman said she would get more info and call me back. The office manager called me back and was incredibly difficult. I was getting upset because she kept saying my schedule was not flexible and that there was nothing she could do to get me in with him. I told her I was willing to come in whenever there was an opening and she rudely told me my grandmother couldnt be seen until September. When I expressed how that was not fair, she told me I was being rude and they didnt want to see my grandmother. She repeatedly said, "Maam I think you need to see Dr. Gross" and she even said "I am going to give you his number!" There is NO reason to treat anyone this way. It is unfortunate because I really hoped to have my grandmother, who is 85, see Dr. Kantor. This was a horrible experience and I really hope Dr. Kantor knows how his staff treats people who are desperately trying to see him for help.

My husband had an extremely negative experience with Dr. Kantor. He removed a large sebaceous cyst from his upper back over 2 months ago. It was very deep and probably should have been done in the hospital. The affected area was covered with about 4- 6 tiny 2x2 gauze pads. Claimed they had no large ones! He was given a prescription for an ointment. But the incision was infected from day one, so in less than a week, we had to call to have the Dr look at it. They had the PA check the wound. She immediately summoned the doctor in to look at it. She scraped off dead skin with no numbing medication and made it worse. Now he had 2 open wounds. Finally gave my husband a 2 week antibiotic protocol. Should have been put on the medication the day of the surgery. The incision continued to be raw and oozing. We returned again. Dr popped his head in the door and said it looked fine. That was the final straw. Went to another practice. They cultured it and said he still had a bad infection. He prescribed another antibiotic. In 4 days, thanks to our new doctor, it is finally healing. Kantor and his staff are rude, unprofessional and incompetent. They rarely return calls and claimed we didnt have 3 appointments when I was holding the appointment cards in my hand! We do NOT recommend this practice.

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Kantor and his staff. They gave me the wrong results on a biopsy, telling me I was fine. Then two months later I get a message stating they needed to schedule my surgery, because my results were not fine. Because of the mess up and the lapse in time, I no longer had insurance. I was informed by the nurse practitioner that because of the mistake they made, the doctor would do the surgery for free. I then went in to have my results released to a family member who is a pathologist, and there was met by the most disrespectful and defensive woman. She repeatedly informed me that I must have been mistaken about what I was told on the phone, despite the fact that I still had the voicemails left by her office. She refused to release my results to me unless I signed a letter releasing them from liability and releasing me from Dr. Kantors care even though I had not asked for this. Overall it was the absolute worst medical experience I have ever had. I have since encountered several other individuals who have shared similar stories with me. I highly recommend everyone stay away from this toxic practice.
