Ehrlich Animal Hospital is an animal care facility located at 8009 Gunn Hwy, Tampa, FL 33626, USA. The hospital has a rating of 4.3 and operates from 6:30 AM to 8 PM on weekdays, 8 AM to 6 PM on Saturdays, and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sundays.
The hospital offers a range of services, including general check-ups, vaccinations, and specialized tests. However, it's crucial to note that the pricing for these services can be on the higher side. For instance, one of the reviews mentioned a $771 bill for a series of tests that ultimately found nothing wrong with the pet.
Customers have expressed concerns about the lack of transparency in pricing. In some cases, additional tests and services were performed without prior consent, leading to unexpected high bills.
The staff, including the veterinarians, are knowledgeable and provide above-average care. However, some customers felt that the vets were pushing for additional, perhaps unnecessary, tests and services.
There have been instances where customers were overcharged. One review mentioned an overcharge of $225, which was only rectified after the customer called to complain.
Customers should be prepared for longer wait times, both in the waiting room and the exam room, even if they arrive early for their appointments.

While Ehrlich Animal Hospital offers a high level of care and expertise, potential customers should be aware of the high costs and be proactive in asking for detailed pricing information before agreeing to any services.

I took my 5 year old dog in yesterday because she wasnt eating much and had vomited 3 times over a 5 day span. I agreed to have her pancreas looked at and to have x-rays done to check and see if there was anything in her stomach that shouldnt be there. I told the vet that she has never gotten into anything before and swallowed it…she isnt a chewer and only likes to eat protein. I went on to tell him that shed just come from the groomer 24 hours before the symptoms started so she could have picked up a stomach bug. The vet was convinced he saw something on the x-ray and said wed better do a barium series to confirm it. In the end, they found absolutely nothing wrong with her and sent her home with anti nausea medication in her system. I received a $771 bill for these tests at check out. At no point did they let me know how high the costs would be for these tests and when I had an issue with it, the nurse told me "maybe Id better watch her diet better and these things wouldnt happen." When I asked to talk to the vet I was told hed gone to lunch and he would call me later. When we spoke he realized the front office had overcharged me $225 for the services! If I hadnt called to complain I would never have known. I would be careful when going to this office because they are the most expensive clinic in the area and can potentially overcharge you for services without you ever knowing. The vet wouldnt budge on the charge of $375 for the last service he "highly suggested" she have done because he really thought he saw something that was not there. Be careful to ask for pricing before ALL services you receive at this clinic and make sure they are absolutely necessary or youll leave with a $771 bill for a dog with a stomach ache. Oh, and make sure they dont overcharge you $225.

Prior to visiting, I had called to get an estimate on how much it would cost to get my kitten his next round of kitten shots in which he only needed one more to complete all his shots. When I called the girl was very nice and explained that because he had never been to this vet before he would need a 36 dollar exam and then the last shot he needed was 27 dollars. So I made an appointment and brought my cat in that same day. When we got back into the room, our vet was Dr. Gibbs and there was also an assistant there to help him. I gave him my cats medical records and explained that he needed his last shot because he already received the others from the place I adopted him. He was really friendly and knew what he needed but then he kept suggesting all of these other shots and tests that he thought my cat should receive such as the leukemia blood test, which his mother and litter mate had already been tested for and came out as negative. He also suggested we get a nasal spray that was required if we ever wanted to board him there. They then took my cat into the back to perform the tests and shot. When we were checking out at the front office, our bill came out to be 180$. This was obviously a big shock to my boyfriend and I as we were expecting to be paying 60 as I had discussed earlier on the phone with the office. Its honestly just wrong for someone to be charged for a test such as the leukemia blood test without being told that the test alone is 80$ and the nasal spray that we didnt even ask for was another 30$. It should be required that the vet lets the owners know how much optional tests are before they just perform them as Dr. Gibbs did. We will not be returning to this vet again.

I was going to give this business a 5 star after our previous visits till our most recent encounter. First I will say the only reason I am giving this office a 2 star is based off the 2 vets we have worked with since the beginning. They helped us grasp a better understanding of our dog and helped us with key pointers to better his behavior as he grows. (Note: We own a siberian Husky) After our most recent visit, I am not a satisfied customer as to I have invested a lot of money and time driving 45 minutes to take our dog here from what my significant other has experienced. It is to my understanding that the last vet who had seen our dog had talked down upon my significant other and made it seem as if we do not know how to handle our dog. It was also to my understanding the vet she had seen informed her that the previous vets were completely wrong and misguided us with our animal to "his perspective". Thus, causing an uncomfortable position for my significant other to be in. Having heard more of the situation at hand I will be attending every appointment until our puppy plan is over and then moving to another vet. An establishment who has a new vet and talks down upon their customers is something i do not want to bring my business to let alone my animal. Please fix your issues at hand before losing another customer.

If I could I would give 2.5 stars. Let me start by saying the staff is very knowledgable and the level of care is above average. BUT...they wanted $700 to neuter my puppy and thats with the "puppy package" that I purchased which covers and/or discounts all the procedures associated with a puppy/new pet (only for a certain time period, if you go beyond that timeframe and all of your puppy procedures i.e. shots are not completed, your SOL). I was able to get him neutered for $75 elsewhere. Yes, the level of care after the procedure was probably not as good, but we are taking about a fairly routine procedure, its not building a lunar module. On that note, be aware that they are INCREDIBLY overpriced and sometimes I honestly feel ripped off as I walk to my truck after a visit. If you have an appointment or a scheduled visit, dont bother getting there early. Regardless of when you get there, you will wait in the waiting room or in the exam room for a minimum of a half hour after your scheduled time. All of that being said, I do appreciate their level of knowledge and care for the animals but they are way overpriced and punctuality is sub par. I will continue to visit but only for visits which I feel are serious and want only expert care. Everything else/routine procedures or visits...I will go elsewhere.
