On Saturday, July 1, 2017, I called at approximately 12:30 to ask if they had my dogs medication ready to pick up and I was told it was. I was told that I could pick up the medication today as long as I arrived before they closed at 1:00pm. I had to change my babys diaper before leaving so I was running late but arrived at 12:59pm on the dot. I was carrying my baby and met with a closed door. I could see the worker sitting at the front desk and asked if I could just quickly pick up my dogs medicine. I asked about three times and each time the worker did not even bother getting up but simply screamed at me "Im closed!" The office knew that I was arriving there to pick up medication and I was told to be there before 1:00pm and arrived at 12:59pm. I understand that it was last minute, but if I saw someone outside my office carrying a baby and know its something quick, I would never shut someone out like that, even if it was after-hours. In addition, if there was a legitimate reason why she could no longer help me, the worker could have at least had the courtesy to greet me at the door rather than yelling at me from her chair behind the front desk. I have never had an issue here before but I was very upset at being treated with such a lack of courtesy and frankly humanity.

All of us here at Mayfair love working with animals. The reviews about dogs losing weight while they board are simply because the owner does not bring the dogs regular food and/or the dog is stressed/depressed from being away from home. I assure you, no one is starved. As for pets leaving with fleas that is something that just does not happen. When a pet is out of the home for a period of time then re-enters the fleas go crazy because they have had nothing to feed on. It takes 3 months to break a fleas life cycle. Our kennels are very large , covered, outdoor kennels. We also have indoor kennels for those who need them. No one is EVER left in the rain or freezing cold. If it is going to be cold we bring everyone inside. If it rains they have shelter from it. And as for the constant barking coming from the back, well, we board animals so yeah they are going to bark! I bring my own animals here and trust Dr. Peggy with them completely. We do our very best to keep it smelling and looking fresh in here. But sometimes pets have accidents and it can linger even after we clean and mop it. It is an animal hospital and sometimes animals smell. But we love them all just the same! Thank you to those who left postitve comments! It really means a lot to us!

HORRIBLE! just awful. The whole thing was a sale, one big ugly sale. They tried to sell me shots even after i told them i was already giving them to my dog at home. They tried to sell me flea medicine, which is fine but there product is way over-priced. Then the vet came in the room, he literally spend 3 minutes examining my dog. He was about to leave, told me that everything was "lookin good," when i stoped him, told him about these bumps my dog had all over her skin. He glanced over it quickly said it was probably mange and that he could do a skin test for me to determine if it was, $20 no big deal though. He was gone for a little bit came back in the room told me that it was not mange and that it could be skin bacteria and that he could give me some medication that could handle it if it was. HE TRIED TO SELL ME A CURE FOR SOMETHING THAT HE WASNT EVEN SURE IF MY DOG HAD. Then he said that it could alse be fleas and that i should buy some of their frontline. This place is a ripoff and i am never going back.

It is with great pleasure that we write to tell how much we love Mayfair Animal Hospitals Dr. Peggy Stubblefield and her outstanding staff which includes Jennifer, Mandy ,Cesar, Elika Katelyn and others. Also the wonderful receptionists, Rosa, Barbara, and Carol are very courteous and efficient. In the 40+ years that we have owned dogs, we find Dr. Peggy to be the most caring and knowledgeable veterinarian we have ever known. She has kept our little 15 year old dog "Dixie" well and comfortable in spite of many challenges. Dixie is blind and has diabetes, skin allergies, chronic eye and ear issues, and suffers from arthritis. Dr. Peggy addresses each of these with true compassion and medical expertise. The staff is very loving and gives Dixie excellent care. We sincerely hope to have many more years of association with Dr. Peggy and Mayfair Animal Hospital. We feel it is a true blessing that we were able to find her and her team. Sincerely, Ed and Brenda Barry

Dr. Peggy Stubblefield ("Dr. Peggy" as many customers call her) and her staff at Mayfair Animal Hospital are awesome! They have been taking care of our cat, Ponce, for almost 17 years and they are amazing with him. He is anxious by nature, however, whenever he visits the office, he is calm and trusting. When he was 3, he got out of the house (totally an indoor cat) and was attacked by a dog and Mayfair put him back together and has kept him healthy every since. Dr. Peggy sure knows her stuff. Dr. Peggy" is extremely knowledgeable, caring, dedicated and wonderful with animals of all kinds. No matter what I ask, she has a thorough answers and explains it in a way a that a non-doctor like me can understand. Mayfair is also conscious of customers budgets and they dont gouge like some vets Ive heard about through friends and co-workers. I know Ponce is always in good hands and Im very thankful Dr. Peggy and her staff are here for us.

Unfortunately, after waiting an hour I walked out. As a first time client, you would think that they would be eager to keep your business and build your trust in handling your pet. When I asked how many pets were in front of mine, I was told 1 more with a 6pm appointment. My appointment was at 5:45 and they had a later appointment in front of me. Im extremely disappointed and my pet ended up not being seen. I refuse to give such an unprofessional place my money, my business and allow handling of my pet. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone and if I could give it 0 stars, I would. Also, the non-stop barking coming from the back room with all the boarded dogs makes all the animals in the waiting room uneasy and adds to the overall unsatisfactory visit you will have if you go here. Terrible.

After a few days of my cat having stomach and back pains, I decided to take her to Mayfair as it is a block from my apartment. I am extremely new to this area and had no idea where else to take her as this was an emergency. I called as soon as they opened and had an appointment right away for an hour or so later. Dr. Peggy was so professional and honest with me. She was so understanding of my budget as I am a student and am currently living off of ramen noodles and arizona tea. She figured out what was wrong with my cat and gave me an extremely affordable price as well. Im so happy she is home and feeling much better! I would most certainly return here. Im not sure why other reviewers disagree, but I definitely had a wonderful experience here. Thanks Dr. Peggy and staff!! :)
