I was looking for a place close to home to perform cataract surgery as I am single and live alone. I work nights so it is not easy to get someone to pick me up or drop off. I am fairly new to ATL and have heard great things about Emory health care services. My appointment was in Jan. 20. There is construction going on and no clear signs that I saw identifying the clinic. So after walking around for 15 mins I find the front door. As I am sitting waiting, I over hear a patient swearing that he would never return to the clinic and causing a ruckus. I thought would this be me one day? Anyhow, I was told after appointment that I would receive a call to schedule appointment. Well, I received the phone call that let me know that my attending would not be in office due to sickness. Fair. So I waited 2 weeks and called back. I was told my provider was still out. I then asked if I could be reassigned. "No, your Dr. will be coming back shortly." Two weeks later, after calling back I am told that the Dr. is no longer there. And I will be receiving a call from someone to help arrange a new provider. So, now its March. I did receive 2 phone calls within a 3 week span. The calls were to let me know SOMEONE else would be calling within the hour to arrange new provider. Each time I waited for calls that never happened. Now into April. I call again, to see if I can get new provider. Finally, I talk to someone who schedules an appointment for 4-14-16. So I switch nights with co-workers to make appointment. I get there 15 mins early and fill out paperwork....again. And I wait patiently cause the waiting room is full. I work in the medical field not every appointment is going to be exact. I am go with that. I also see they roll a patient in that looks like he just came from surgery and awaiting escort. I am dozing in and out. Cause afternoon is my bedtime. Listening for my name. I get up to stretch and notice that the only 2 people left are me and the patient waiting for escort. I look at my watch and its 2 hours later. Again, I work in the medical profession and realize there often setbacks. I go to the desk to ask how much longer. She calls back and it seems no one even knew I checked in. About the same time I hear a nurse state to the poor guy waiting on escort, "Omg, are you still here?" I do not know where the disconnect happened in my experience. I would like to try an improve if possible. I feel as if the staff was friendly. But there needs to be some attention to office personnel. I guess the angry patient upon initial visit was a sign!

This is the worst Eye Center I have ever been to. I met with dr. K last year she schedule me a year appointment for this month July 25th . I called in to verify my aponitment and the staff tell me that she doesnt work on that day that she schedule for me and that I need to reschedule another appoinment after whole year. I ask why no one called me to let me know that she has changed her schedule in January and now its July and I was schedule over year. I was put on hold and spoke to their relationship department or whatever you call it and stated there manager with call guess what the manager never called so now I have to find a new eye center this is the second doctor that they have that have left and without notice to patients and now this one change her schedule. if you have a schedule appointment you best not wait on it go somewhere else because this is the worst Eye Center I have ever been to I dont like going to different doctors I have a doctor before he retired they recommended me to Emory and guess what I wish I never would have went. Also Im a diabetic so they won follow up on your eyes so if youre a diabetic or you have problems with your eyes are some serious condition please go somewhere else. if you just need glasses that will be a good place for you to see them every once or twice a year, any specialist no a year before you be seen . The crazy part so when I call to check up on my appointment they told me that she wasnt available untill November and I was like I had this appoinment since last July 2016 year and Im a diabetic really experierce problems with my eyes. The staff did not care she said jus I can scheduled it with somebody else. I called back a second time to see why the manager never called me the person could not answer he encouraged me to schedule with another doctor but thats not a good idea thats going to be the third doctor that I have had at this Center I stated to them I wanted to go to the same doctor I was at before I think thats very unfair to schedule with all these many different doctor your eyes this is a serious thing when it comes to my eyed.

I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS!!!!!!!!!!! This has got to be the most unprofessional eye clinic Ive ever TRIED to visit. Notice the key word TRIED. Our doctor sent us to this clinic for my premature daughter. Weve been trying to get an appointment with this clinic since February of 2016! It is now March 25th of 2017 and we just got another letter in the mail that our May 30th appointment has been cancelled. Every time we scheduled an appointment, we kept getting a call stating that due to a scheduling conflict, we have to reschedule your appointment and that the next appointment would not be available for 2 months. Now I understand that things happen. One time is OK. Two times is a little inconvenient but Im being patient. BUT SEVEN TIMES!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me!! We finally took our premature daughter to another eye clinic, which by the way they were able to get us in within 2 weeks, and they told us that our daughters vision was extremely poor and that she should have been seen MONTHS AGO!!!!!!!! They asked why did we wait so long to come in and we told them that we were waiting for the idiots at Emory Eye Clinic. We explained to them that our doctor sent us there. This brought tears to my wifes eyes that my baby was dealing with terrible vision when she didnt have to. It took every fiber of my being to keep from coming up that clinic and completely making a scene like some of the other guest at this miserable place. Our new eye clinic so far is excellent with a wonderful staff that has enough sense not to over constantly overbook clients and doctors that actually show up when they are suppose to and not when they feel like it. I wish I had read all of these negative reviews before attempting to make an appointment. Everything they are saying is accurate. I thought my premature daughter was being singled out for some odd reason but it appears we were not the only ones affected by this unprofessional establishment. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!

I was kind of shocked when I learned there were only three reviews on Google for Emory Eye Center. Let me start off by saying I was born with a few different eye disorders so I have been a patient up here for a long time ( pretty much since birth and I am 26 now. ) They are very client serving based and they air a great atmosphere of care and understanding. One thing I want every viewer to know though is that the eye is a very complicated part of your body and is extremely delicate. Doctors have learned alot about the eye very true, but even they dont know everything. There are many great mysteries to solve about the eye. If you ever get an eye issue though Im not talking about nearsighted or something like that. If you ever have a real eye problem like cataracts, glaucoma, some extremely rare eye complication/disorder this is the place to go to. Emory is a learning center but at the same time they host some of the leaders in the business. Their prices can be high, extremely high even with insurance but if you want quality service this is the place to go. And even if you cant really afford to pay them in one go they do have financial plans for you. I would suggest them overall and give them 4/5.
