I love this vet. Last week my dog almost died of heat stroke, and I brought him in as an emergency. At the time the vet gave him a 25% chance of surviving as he was pretty critical. I had to try to save him so the staff really worked with me on outlining the total cost of his treatment. He needed a lot of work ($3,000+) and they carefully sat down with me and went over how to go about saving him in the most cost effective manner. They always let me know what had to be done beforehand and how much it would be. They even made it a point to prioritize what procedures were not 100% necessary at the time and could be saved for later. My dog ended up staying just over 4 days and in that time period I was able to visit with him every morning and night. At first I was worried that I was being a bother showing up everyday, but the Vet and Vet Techs all encouraged me to sit with him as long as I wanted. The first night I called every two hours to check on him because he was so critical. Each time the Vet gave me a detailed update and told me to call back whenever I wanted to check on him. She promised to call if anything changed, but I could not sleep and was up worrying all night. Basically, all of that to say I really appreciate the ENTIRE staff for working so hard to save Rocko while also trying to be as cost effective as possible. Thank you for keeping me updated on my total cost throughout the entire process and allowing me to bother you twice a day with visits to the hospital. We are now customers for life, and will be back for his routine checkups and boarding. Lastly, I wanted to thank Jordan for helping instruct me on how to give subcutaneous fluids to my dog when I took him home. I was very nervous to use the needle and he sat down with me for about an hour and coached me (very patiently) step by step on what to do. Rocko is now home snoring happily on his dog bed :)

I waited for 4 hours as "technicians" came in and out of the room to negotiate my bill. Our cat was there for vaccination and to see why he has lost some hair as he is a long haired cat. I had to request a vet to come check on him. As I was talking to the vet a "technician" was shoving papers in my face to sign up for some month to month payment of $78.00. I worked at a vet clinic for several years and have never ever seen anything like I witnessed. They ran blood work etc and told me I would receive a call in a couple days. The fourth day I called and was told someone would call back. After waiting around with anxiety for the results, I drove up to the clinic and let them know I was there to speak with a vet. They looked like they saw a ghost. I was then told after waiting for 45 minutes that " because the test results came back normal I was put at the bottom of the pile because it wasnt life threatening so I should feel good about all that.." i asked if they had run several basic feline test aids and leukemia. They said they didnt test for it but could at an extra cost. Agree with many other post, they seem uneducated and care about money. I just called up to cancel my monthly payment and was told I had to pay 770.00. I have already paid near 400.00. I will go to court if I have to with this place, its horrible. They dont care about your pet! I also say technicians in quotes because non of them ever touched my cat they took care of the sale. The "technicians" are nothing but vet assistants and sales reps.

I felt enough disagreement with others that I felt like posting. I have three routine visits and one series of visits for an abscessed bite that through no fault of the vets ( an aggressive and antibiotic-resistant bacteria) required three visits total and one overnight stay. I am a medical doctor which I mention only to show I am a good judge of medical care, and I found the care good. I found the two vets I dealt with, Dr. Woods and Dr. Draper to be personable, knowledgable and caring. Both took a good bit of time with me. Dr. Draper had remembered both my cat and me from a previous visit a good time hence. I did not wait long for my scheduled appointments. They were able to accommodate me quite rapidly, with an appointment the very day during business hours when I came home and found the bite had abscessed badly and for the follow up visits. I have no complaints about the staff either. Prices were equal to other vets in town.I have also dealt with a couple of the other local vet offices and I could easily say the same of them. My major incentives to continue with VCA are that the hours are much more extended, including evening hours and weekend hours (for which they do not charge you emergency rates) and they have their own in-house hospital/emergency services.

This place is absolutely horrible. DO NOT take your pets here unless it is solely on an emergency basis. First Id like to say they treat your pet like its a car, they have some tech who probably couldnt pass a high school biology class give you an estimate treating your pet like a car. The vets are knowledgeable, but the customer service is absolutely ridiculous. The people at the front desk treat you like you are bothering them just by coming in or calling even when you have an appointment scheduled. Just recently my cat passed away when I called to see what can be done, they basically told me to go F$&@ myself. They said "we dont handle that" and hung up". I strongly recommend that you do not use this place unless it is a last resort. There is a GVS right up the road off Roswell and Abernathy please take your animals to them they will take much better care of you and they are also open 24 hours just like this VCA crap hole. Seriously if I could give this place negative stars I would have. For a place thats called pets are people too they are far from treating pets like they are anything more than expensive trash.

My cat has been scratching a lot lately and has a scab above his eye and near his ear. So I called to make an appointment. I have to say that the exam room seemed kind of dirty and unkempt to me. The tech came who came in was very nice and friendly. Did the usual stuff, temperature, etc. Then the vet came in. I explained what was going on. All he really said was, eh, could be ringworm but the other cat doesnt have it, eh, could be allergic to his food. So, after giving my cat a shot, which I felt obligated to do otherwise if something happened, Id feel guilty, and he also took a hair sample to test for ringworm. The tech came back in with the bill and explained what the vet said. $39 for Royal Canin food, $45 for shot, $14 for e-collar, $65 for culture, and $5 for biohazard waste management. I said I didnt want the food, so the tech crossed it off and gave me the wrong bill. I paid and someone else came back and said, arent you taking the food? I said no I didnt want it (after my card had already been charged). Honestly, I feel this place was a scam. I wont be going back there at all. Seriously, $65 for ringworm culture?
