I had made an appointment for 3:20 on 8/14/2009. On 8/13/2009 I received 3 calls from your office about rescheduling. I understand things happen and with 24 hours notice I was able to make accommodations with my employer to make the earlier appointment. On the day of the appointment I received another call to at 11:10 AM to say that my 1:30 appointment was still OK, but that if I wanted to I could come in early. I thanked the caller and told her I would have to get permission to do that because it was such short notice. I told her I wasn’t sure if I could make it earlier but that I had permission to make the 1:30 appointment and would be there at that time or earlier if I could. Well, at 11:24 I received another call from your office. The caller identified herself as Vicky and was extremely rude. I had all ready made plans with my employer for the first appointment, and then I rearrange them to fit with your offices unexpected issues. I am not an unreasonable person. Had Vickie called up apologized about your office not being able to accommodate my appointment due to unexpected emergency arising and said that she would be happy to make me an earlier appoint would be glad to reschedule, then I would have been more than happy to reschedule with your office. However, that was not what she did. She treated me like I was the unreasonable one because I wasn’t able to drop everything and head to your office. Not once did she try to explain what happened. I tried to tell her that I was at work and that I had already adjusted my time with my employer and I wasn’t sure if I could make it earlier. At the point the tone in her voice became condescending. She told me I needed to realize that the Doctor had to leave early and now if I wanted to be seen today then I would have to come in early or I would not be seen at all. She said she needed an answer now or I was out of luck. I told her that I could not provide her with one until I spoke to my manager and made arrangement to change my time again to fit the doctor’s needs and to go ahead and cancel my appointment. I have canceled my appointments and I am not looking for a demonologist clinic that handles their affairs professionally and treats their patients, both current & potential one, with respect and understanding. This is not the image your clinic chooses to reflect.

I overpaid a past account by $200 in Feb. When I discovered my error in March I called the billing dept and left a message as directed by automated answering service. After a week with no call back, I called my local office and asked to be transferred directly to billing. I explained my error to Maria. She could find no record of the two $100 checks that had been deposited. Upon her request I sent copies of the checks and verification of their clearing my bank account. Several weeks later Maria called me back to tell me she had received the copies, the money was credited to my account and that she would begin the processing of my refund. Maria again called me back in early May to tell me to look for my refund around the 16th. No such luck! Ive called back at least six times since and talked with various individuals, all directing me to someone named "Dele" in billing. I have been copied on emails to her asking her to call me back. NOTHING! It is June 26 and I still dont have my $200. This is unacceptable business practice. If I owed $200 for over four months, you can bet the billing department would be answering the phone and returning email!

If it wasnt for Dr. Nelson, I wouldnt even visit this place. The people are horrible. They dont know how to do their job. When you have to call them for anything they dont EVER pick up their phones. I am going to be looking for another dermatologist when I am done with my course of medication soon. I say google should allow me to response back to whoever responded to earlier review but since I cannot I am editing my review to get my point to the owner of this place. Dear owner of the place that responded to my review, if you really care about providing better service you should look up your clients and contact them yourself. I dont want to reach out to you for any help. I just have to say hire people that care about your business and their jobs and may be teach them not to be rude to their clients and also, to answer calls when clients are trying to each your office. Besides, if they did their jobs right the first time, we(clients) wouldnt even need to call your office again to tell you to do something they missed. Anyhow, thanks for reading my review. I will be finding another Doctor soon. Good day!

I went for a visit in Feb of 2012, and they were paid by my insurance company shortly thereafter. For 18 months, they kept trying to re-bill the insurance company for the same appointment - which my insurance company rejected every time (as they had already paid it). Fast forward to yesterday (mid August, 2014), and I have a phone call from a bill collector saying that I owed Family Derm $13.90 and my credit would be dinged unless I made immediate payment. Then I got a letter in the mail that same afternoon from the same collection agency that said it was $71.33. When I called Family Derms billing department, I got an answering machine saying that "due to high call volume, your call will be returned in 3-5 business days". At least the debt collector said the $70 charge was an error and that it was only $10 that I owed (and to kindly pay up before my credit would be ruined). So if you like phantom bills for years, a ton of rejected EOBs from your insurance company, threats to trash your credit report over $10, no $70, no wait, just $10, then Family Derm is the place for you!

We received a collection letter this week for an appointment on a date in 2012 although we never had an appointment with Family Dermatology on that date. The last bill from FD and payment from Medicare and our insurance company is for an appointment that my husband had in 2011 and I paid the balance of $8.31 in full.. We have never received a bill for this supposed $103.36 debt but I have seen a lot of letters from my insurance company telling them that they were not paying a balance of this amount because it has already been paid. Ive tried calling them but am unable to get a call through. About two years ago I received a letter from FD asking to pay several past due balances from many years before. When I researched them I determined that these balances had all been paid. Then I got a letter telling me to ignore the balances as they had sent these letters out in error. I sure dont appreciate having an unknown bill sent to a collection agency when theyve made no attempt to collect from us.
