This place killed my dog! My dog developed a bad cough that was followed by gagging but she never threw anything up. I did research and called a ton of veterinarians in my area and decided to go with this place because it was the cheapest and they let me do monthly payments. BIG MISTAKE. Prior to bringing my dog to this vet, i called several places in my neighborhood. I told every doctor i spoke to about the symptoms my dog was having and they advised me to go to an emergency hospital to put her under an oxygen tank because she may be having trouble breathing. My dog had a heart murmur so they determined (over the phone) without even doing a diagnosis, that she would need to be put on an oxygen tank. I told this to the vet at C & O. But never once did they think about doing this until the last minute. I saw Dr Andres a few times and Dr Ho once. They kept prescribing medication, gave her a water pill, and a antibiotic for her cough at first. My dog responded ok to them the first round of meds but her cough wasnt gone and she was still gagging. I took her in a second time and she was prescribed yet a different antibiotic, still on the water pill, and another medicine for her heart. She threw up the medicine from the beginning, she didnt respond well to them and on July 27 she met her demise. That morning she awoke lethargic and could barely breathe. I took her into the vet that morning, Dr Andres gave her more medicine to take home and 3 in shot form. They injected her with Enofloxacin (antibiotic), furosemide (water pill), and cerenia (anti-nausea). Her poor little heart probably could not handle all of this medication but who was i to question a medical professionals opinion? I did tell them i was concerned about all the medications shes been on and why they kept prescribing them to her. I didnt want her to be on medicine if she wasnt responding well to them. They send me home with even more medicine to start the next morning. An hour later she was on the floor and she couldnt move or breath. i called them panicking and they told me to bring her in, that they would put her under the oxygen tank. If she was that sick, why did they send her home? Why wouldnt they put her under this damn oxygen tank to begin with? Why was this the last resort? I feel like they misdiagnosed her. They gave unnecessary and improper medical care that ultimately caused my dogs death. My dog was OBVIOUSLY ill. The vet never called or followed up with an apology and in fact, i have called and left messages with the front desk 3 times and spoke to two different assistants since she died wanting to talk to the owner/ manager of this place and they told me they would pass the message along to them. I have YET to hear from them. It shouldnt take three weeks to get back to me when ive consistently called to follow up. This is preposterous! This was veterinarian malpractice. I think the fact that i havent heard from them in three weeks now shows that they dont care and also dont want to admit to anything or even try to work out anything with me because itll make them seem guilty. I REFUSE TO EVER COME BACK TO THIS GODFORSAKEN PLACE. Like Brad H, they prescribed a ton of medicine and kept nickel and diming me. I appreciate all the help from the front desk but I regret coming to this place. The doctors couldve done more to prevent my dogs death. I will also be reporting this to the Veterinarian licensing board

I took my Chihuahua, Sammy, to Clark-N-Oak Animal Health Center after he was attacked by a much larger dog and after he was seen by an ER Vet the night it happened. The ER Doctor said Sammy did not have much of a chance. I called Clark-N-Oak The next morning (Sunday) and explained Sammys situation. They said they would fit me in to the Doctors schedule. Dr. Andres, gets right to the point and you can tell his experience and knowledge is a step above other vets. Dr. Andres is so awesome. You know he is all about your pet and not about your wallet. I have been to a few vets in my area and none of them are close to Clark-N-Oak. The nurses and front office staff are so helpful and so nice. I had to take Sammy in 2 days later and I called an hour before closing, and the receptionist said to bring him in if he wasnt looking good and they would wait for me. And Again, Dr. Andres didnt make me feel like I was putting him out for staying late. He took his time examining Sammy again, and it was just something I fed Sammy that made him sick to his stomach. It has been a week since he was attacked and he is doing so good. Thank you Dr. Andres!!! We thought Sammy might have to be put down after the ER diagnosis but Dr. Andres made sure we knew he was going to be fine and give him time. I have found my new Veterinarian and I recommend everyone with a pet to visit Clark-N-Oak. You will not be disappointed.

I have been going to Clark and Oak for many years now. I have 5 small dogs and 1 cat and I also bring my daughters 2 large dogs. The entire staff is great! Dr. Andres goes above and beyond the expected normal animal care. For example. He has called vaccine companies , he has called in a hormone specialist to conduct state of the art testing so my recently adopted elderly dog didnt have to undergo unnecessary surgery. Dr. Andres did this at his own expense. Now what vet does that? One that is truly in the business for all the right reasons. He has also cared for ,treated and unfortunately had to put down a cat we had several years ago due to stomach cancer. He and his staff were very compassionate during this time at the vet. He has a few locations and the front desk staff always finds a way to get you in when there is an urgency. I go to the Original location on Clark and Oak streets across from Dave and Busters downtown. Clark and Oak also has better pricing than the majority of Vets out there! They are worth every penny!

What a great place I found right in my neighborhood. I had two sick cats that needed to be seen asap and they got me in within a hour as a new patient. They are affordable and they are thorough without putting your animal through unnecessary tests. One of my cats needed a antibiotic and the Dr was great at giving him a shot instead of meds for me to give him which can be difficult. My other cat he decided not to treat with meds bc her condition was viral and he wanted the kitty to fight off the virus to strengthen her immune system. He said if her condition worsened he would then give her them. I really liked that and agreed with his decision. My older cat tends to be nippy at the vet and he did great with him and my cat was well behaved and didnt nip. The entire staff is friendly, thorough and its a clean and convienent office. I had called many of places that morning and couldnt get cats in for a visit, or the visits were outrageous in price. I highly recommend Clark N Oak.
