I saw the nurse practitioner Julie Marable for one appointment (annual pap). It depends on what youre looking for in a gynecologist. Personally, I want somebody that seems to care about their patients, someone that I feel that I can speak honestly to. Julie was perfectly professional and efficient, however, she did not seem to genuinely care about any of the questions she was asking me. She just ran through the list and exam as quickly as possible without following up on any portion. Furthermore, I explained that I was especially anxious about the results of the pap because one year prior I had tested positive for HPV, and wanted to know whether it had gone away or not. Over one month later and I never received a phone call. Instead I had to call the office for the results (normal). I understand if typically they dont call if there are no problems but in this instance I believe they should have as I expressed concern over a prior condition. I definitely will not be going back.

Dr Carlos is very professional and patient through all the questions I had when pregnant. She had good suggestions for any concerns I had and made made me feel that I should not worry as things were progressing nicely. The other staff were also very friendly as they would greet me by name and I found them very accommodating. When there was something to be concerned about in my pregnancy (my sugar levels went up one week), she was concerned and expressed what needed to be done. I found her very unbiased and practical in her suggestions which helped me make an objective decision. I reduced one star as I had to wait sometimes when it was busy in the office but overall my visits were quick, comfortable, and relatively stress free. Would strongly recommend!

I will never go back to this doctor again. I was referred to her by my previous OB-GYN when he retired. She was rude and impatient with me. I was a virgin at the time of my appointment with her and she did nothing to make me feel comfortable or relaxed. We couldnt even finish my Pap. She was inconsiderate and said I should go have sex and then try again. I was having problems with my BC and she was very cavalier when I presented my issues. She asked me if I should try another one as if I was the person with the medical degree. Ive had the same issues for years and it took going to another doctor to diagnose my PCOS. Overall, I felt extremely violated and undervalued by the entire experience. I would never recommend anyone to this doctor.

Dr Ilona Carlos delivered our daughter at St Joes Hospital on Sheffield. Ive worked in health care for 30 years and I cant believe what these other people are writing. Dr. Carlos was one of the most caring and attentive doctors during my wifes really l-o-n-g delivery - it was around 14 hours. Dr Carlos and the anesthesiologist (sorry, forgot his name) were extremely professional and caring ... and cautious. They both exceeded my expectations and believe me I have seen some pretty cold and uncaring docs in my life. One of the nurses during the afternoon shift was apparently having a bad day - but all the rest of the staff were excellent too. I highly recommend them!

I had a bad experience with this doctor on my first and only appointment with her. She did not listen to what I was actually saying and kept interrupting me while I was going over my medical history. All though she did answer all of my questions, was knowledge about my condition and refer me to a specialist, he had a condescending demeanor. She was accusatory, she looked annoyed by me, impatient and showed no compassion. Funny think was when I told her Im a critical care nurse and work at one of the hospitals she works from, her attitude completely changed to be more pleasant, but hypocritical. I highly recommend taking your concerns and questions elsewhere.

Me and my wife chose Dr. Carlos to deliver our baby and believed we made the right choice until the day of the delivery, when our beloved doctor became a very rude and unprofessional individual. The labour wasnt progressing the way it was supposed to and Dr. Carlos was pushing us into decisions we didnt agree with, just to SPEED THINGS UP (no medical reason), because she already had plans for the following day, as she informed us. People like that should not be doctors. Dr. Carlos delivered our child, which well always appreciate, but Ill never forget how awful she made my wife feel while she was having painful contractions.

The office was not set up for a pleasant and sanitary experience. A bare bones place with nowhere to hang ones clothing....the exam table was worn and dirty. The exam consisted of a ten second pap smear. SHE DID NOT DO A PELVIC EXAM even though I presented with irregular , heavy bleeding every two weeks. I had to INSIST she do a CBC in order to determine if the bleeding was causing anemia. I only went to get a routine exam and hopefully find a regular gyne for my new insurance. My old gyne at Northwestern couldnt believe what happened. She is incompetent. And who wears stillettos to do exams ?! Bizarre.

Ive been in Chicago for three years and just started seeing Dr. Carlos after having awful experiences with other doctors. She was in my network and close so I thought I would try her out and she is an absolute angel. She is very easy to talk to about any issues and made me feel very comfortable and there was no awkwardness or pain during the exam. She is very professional and friendly. Everyone on the staff is also very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend.

Dr. Carlos is wonderful. I had several prenatal appointments with her and she was always patient and never hurried me out the door when i had several follow up questions. She delivered my baby in May and I wouldnt have chosen anyone else! The whole experience with her as my doctor was extremely positive, and the delivery was seamless thanks to her. Thank you Dr. Carlos for everything!

DONT GO HERE. Worst bedside manners I have ever received from a Dr., let alone a female OB/GYN, who you would think would make you feel comfortable, care about you, and talk you through when they are biopsying your cervix! Jesus. I will never go back again.
