our optometrist shut the doors, so we are in search of a new one. i prefer the independent ones as opposed to the big corporate ones as i have always felt they have better customer service. my husband went to dr. kelly last year & really liked him while i took the rest of us to a friends recommendation. while the eye dr. at the recommended place was good, she is really too far away & the independent shop was bought out by a big corporate one which i hadnt realized. so this year, i thought wed all go to dr. kelly at dupage family eye care. i called to set up the appts and first was told that they would only set up 2 family members per day. ummm...ok. ill have to schedule 2 different days then. went thru the set up for 2 appts together on one day. she had asked if we were new patients. i replied "yes, but my husband has been there & we are all under his insurance." she looked him up & found him. after booking the appts, she told me that there was a 24-hr cancellation policy. ok, thats normal for most doctors offices & even hotels. then she said reiterated the policy & said that they need a credit card # to keep on file in the event that we dont show up or cancel within 24 hours so they can charge me $25! what?!?! with all of the credit card breaches out there (which we have had happen to us 4-5 times), we dont just casually give our credit card # over the phone. plus, we dont even use that to pay for glasses as we have vsp insurance & a hsa acct (health savings pretax acct). when i said that that is very off-putting to a new customer that really isnt new as my husband has been there so they can see that we keep our appts & pay on time. she answered very coolly, "shall i cancel your appt then?" well, i guess so because im not giving you my credit card #! the very next day, i received an email from them saying "welcome to the dupage family eye care family!" umm...i dont charge my family to come visit me!! to give them the benefit of the doubt (my husband thought it must be a receptionist having a bad day), my husband wrote a letter to dr. kelly asking if this was really the policy & explaining that we have had breaches with our credit card a number of times in the past. he also reminded him that while his wife & children are techniquely new patients, he has already been there so cant that count as an established relationship? he even thought that perhaps the staff would open the mail & discard it, so he went there personally to hand the letter to dr. kelly. he didnt quite make it to him, but a staff member said that shed hand it to the dr. a few days later, my husband got an email response basically saying that it was their policy & if we wouldnt follow that one, we probably wouldnt follow other policies that they have! im shocked and i have to assume that dupage family eye care has enough current business that they do not need new patients -- even ones that get new glasses & contacts every year! if you want to hand over personal credit information, then go for it! otherwise, find another eye dr!

I have been going to Dr. Kelly for many, many years . The staff was very friendly and they sure knew their stuff, each in a different area. I did not have to wait to see the doctor. I had the whole examine done and it was very easy and reasonable priced. The new office is beautiful but with his staff being so wonderful I could care less about the décor . It was a joy to go to my eye appointment and I will make sure it doesnt take me another six years... Doc was, as usual, his good natured and thoughtful self. Thanks for the great visit. Dr. Kelly is very through and has all the up to date equipment. He can spot things that no other doctor has spotted. Thanks again for the lovely visit!!!

I have seen Dr. Kelly for the past 5 years, and can attest to his quality of care. He takes great time with his patients, explaining the causes to my eye issues (in my case, dry eye) and spends great time in making sure we are treating the problem correctly and prescribing the best contact lenses that do not fit my eye. My only regret is that I have since moved, and it makes it difficult to make it out to his clinic. He has great knowledge and is sincerely one of the best doctors I have seen, in terms of quality of care and time spent with patients. Thanks Dr. Kelly.

Everything about DuPage Family Eyecare is wonderful. The staff is patient, kind, and helpful, and Dr. Kelly is a phenomenal doctor. He takes his time and really gets to know his patients, and is sure to address their needs. They have a wide selection of frames and sunglasses, including major brands such as Ray Ban, Adidas, Coach, and also many unique brands you wont find at chain optometry places. I feel like Dr. Kelly and the staff really care about me at DuPage Family Eyecare, unlike the big name places. I would 100% recommend DuPage Family Eyecare.

DuPage Family Eye Care is top notch. The office is clean, but more important, the entire staff is above reproach. Dr. Kelly is knowledgeable, and his staff is well trained and efficient. It is obvious that they all really care about their patients. While you are there, you feel like the only patient they have. Unlike so many other offices, their appointments are on time. I cant say enough about DuPage Family Eye Care. You wont be sorry if you pay them a visit.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kelly for at least 15 years. He is the most professional and thorough eye doctor I have ever been to. He is also great with kids. My daughters vision was progressively getting worse at an early age. He was able to stabilize her vision with a plan. Good vision is a top priority in life and I wouldnt trust just anybody with my family. I highly recommend Dr. Kelly. His assistant Marcus is great too.

We are new to the area and visited Dr. Kellys office for my sons Kindergarten eye exam. My son had a very positive experience with his first visit to an eye doctor. The entire staff was great with him and made him feel very comfortable. Everyone was very nice, personal and professional. I would highly recommend their practice for anyone with little kids needing eye care!

Dr. Jim Kelly and his staff are first class. Any visit to their office has always been thorough and done in a professional manner. I cannot imagine finding any other eye care business which comes close to Dupage Family Eyecare. Took my son in to get his first set of contacts. I was not informed that the fittings could only be done on one day of the week , Wednesday i think it was . After paying hundreds of dollars and not being told my insurance wasnt going to pay we cant make it in on tho one and only day to get the fittings . Worst experience ever .
