AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS In the morning of 15th July 2013 my daughter dislocated her left elbow. We rushed to the ER of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and arrived there around 9:45 with just 3 people waiting in the ER room. Almost directly, we were called in by the nurse / doctor for an initial observation. After this initial observation we were requested to take X-rays by the person on duty. After 1+ hour waiting we were called in to take X-rays. The X-rays had to be taken from several angles and during this process the elbow of my daughter flipped back into the correct position. We went back into the waiting room where we waited for another 90 minutes. In the meanwhile my daughter told me she was feeling fine and she could freely move around her arm. She was happily playing. I showed this progression to the doctor on duty of the first observation. She refused to give me any advise and told me it was my responsibility to decide if I would leave or not. We waited again some longer and left without any further treatment the ER around 13:15. At 17:30 that afternoon I got a call from Gottliebs ER stating that my daughters arm was indeed fractured and I needed to come back to either Gottlieb Memorial Hospital or Loyola ER for a cast. I was told that I could not make an appointment but it was crucial that I got her treatment that same day. Since we got a very unprofessional impression from Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, we went to the ER of Loyola. After another hour waiting, we explained our situation to the first observation doctor and she would contact Gottlieb Memorial Hospital ER for the X-Rays. After another 45 minutes, she came back and advised us that Gottlieb Memorial Hospital could not FIND or SEND the X-rays so we had to take new X-rays(!). Another set of X-rays were taken (with a different machine than the one that was used in Gottlieb Memorial Hospital) The doctor could not find anything out of order. She requested help of several pediatric doctors and tried to contact Gottlieb Memorial Hospital again and reached for the doctor who was in charge of the initial diagnose. We spend in total another 4 hours at the Loyola hospital where the doctors informed us that they could not see anything out of order and that they expected that my daughter had just a dislocated elbow. We were relieved from the hospital without any treatment. Luckily we didn’t decide to go back to Gottlieb Memorial Hospital where my daughter probably would have been assigned to walk around with a useless cast for at least 6 weeks. After this experience, I received 2 bills from Gottlieb and Loyola. They are basically the same cooperation and their financial administration seems to be centered. We are billed for 2 individual ER visits and the total part we have to pay, after insurance payments is above USD 500 I protested for several weeks stating that we did not wanted to go to ER for the 2nd time and that this was done under their instruction. They rejected this protest and I really feel being ripped off and paying for the lack of expertise of the ER staff at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. This one is definitely not a Memorable experience for us and I strongly advise everybody to avoid this ER at all costs! What a joke! What a bunch of armatures. What a bunch a childish greedy people that do not want to take responsibility for their misdiagnoses.

I had foot surgery June of 2015. About four months after the surgery I received a bill from a Gottlieb-MA, LLC, apparently this is the billing service for their Anesthesiology department for $800. I called them up & spoke to someone by the name of Christina & was told that the balance was my responsibility, insurance had already paid its portion. I made payment arrangements of $100. @ month till resolved. This was in October, after making 2 $100. payments I waited for the January statement to show my current balance but it never arrived. I called Christina again & she said that I now had a zero balance, due to an error on their part. I didnt receive anything from them until April of 2016, telling me I now had a balance again for the amount of $700. & the statement said "BALANCE IS OVERDUE- CONTACT US OR BE REFERRED TO COLLECTION AGENCY". I called & spoke to a manager named Peter Z, (refused his last name.), he denied what Christina told me earlier about the zero balance, but instead I indeed had a balance, but he wouldnt refer me to a collection agency. I then paid off the balance quickly in three bi weekly installments, but every time I called & spoke directly to Peter Z & I asked for confirmation numbers to assure no errors were made, he consistently procrastinated to issue me confirmation numbers of payments. I also want it to be known I called the anesthesiology department to complain about their billing service & got the run around with them as well. Im only giving one star because Google reviews demands the stars to process the reviews, otherwise I would give them a negative 10.

This has to literally be the WORST hospital EVER. My uncle went in because he had double pneumonia, and came out with his intestines in a bag. While he was there he got a virus that he didnt have before his surgery. He died twice on the table, but it wasnt filed in any of his paperwork. He had to wait a whole day to begin his tests because they couldnt find a catheter; well excuse me, but catheters should be as plentiful at a hospital as condoms are at a clinic. A nurse once left his bag open on his bed and my uncle was lying in his bed covered in his own feces. He was being pumped full of medications and antibiotics, but his nurses didnt even know what the medications were for, or how long they had been there. The building itself is dreadful as well. My mother cleaned off the chairs in the waiting room with a Clorox wipe and the wipe was black when she was done. The floors only get mopped on Friday, and the garbage doesnt get taken out during the weekend. My grandmother and I were the only two in the waiting room one night, we saw a cleaning person come in with a cleaning cart, leave without the cleaning cart, returned about an hour later, to then just leave with the cart. Last few thoughts, why are the ICU, nursery, and operating rooms all on the same floor. And why is it that both on the infectious disease wing, and in the ICU all the patients doors are opened. How is that healthy?

WORST Emergency Room EVER. Go somewhere else. In a society that is currently very mindful of mental illness and health, this hospital and ER secretary VICKY CAVELARO couldnt have treated my mother with worse service. My mother suffers from severe depression and when her DOCTOR SUGGESTED she go to the ER to get her script for Valium filled (which wouldve taken 5 min), they made her sit there for 5 HOURS WHILE HER BODY SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY and VICKY told her very quaintly that "there are sicker people than her". My mother proceed to have a nervous breakdown as she drove home on the expressway bawling. DO NOT go to this ER. Take your family members and children elsewhere where they actually count mental illness as being SICK. Mental illness is a real thing. If someone leaves your ER without being treated for their mental condition, you are the people who will have to live with the guilt of what happens to them after they walk out your doors. Instead of being assured that a doctor was going to see her eventually come hell or hell or high water, she was told she WASNT SICK ENOUGH. I will be spreading the word about this, as I am in the therapy field as well.
