This post comes with much regret because I chose this facility over RML in Downers Grove over convenience. Although I heard about the deplorable care, I gave Kinnard a chance because when I toured the cavity it seemed like other long-term care facilities. However, the rumors about this facility are true. My experience with them caring for my mother have been a nightmare. If you have a loved one who is unable to speak for themselves or is on a ventilator, DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!!!!!! For example, a CNA emptied trash while my mom gasped for air & laid in urine. Then when he decided to address the situation, he wasn’t going to change his gloves. In addition, every time I ask my mom’s nurse status updates such as her last bowel movement, her last temperature, last time she was turned, etc, she never knows and responds with I’ll check. Also, my mom now has a skin breakdown at her coccyx area, which was not on admission after 12 days. I hate to generalize the few good nurses with the bad staff but I’m miserable. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. The convenience of this place being close does not outweigh or even come close to the major negative of their horrible care. Read and google everything online prior to coming and visit between 8-10pm , ask the security to roam permit freedom to evaluate the environment. Please don’t bring your loved ones here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being a patient at Kindred Northlake I have grown to love this facility. I love Kindred Northlake. Kindred Northlake has some of the best Nurses, PCTs, Therapist and Hospital Staff Ive ever met. When I have a concern about anything concerning my care plan or condition, Kindred staff is always there to help further explain things in a way I undrestand them and if the staff is not aware of something they make sure someone is present to make sure I receive the best knowledge possible for what Im asking. Kindred staff is always answering the call light anytime I press the call light button and the response time is no longer than 5 minutes. Kindred Northlake staff goes beyond and above for their patients and I would not recommend any other place but Kindred Northlake for someones love one who needs really good care. Im glad I was able to be at a facility that really pushes you to do better and get better. Kindred Northlake, I applaud on the great services you provide to patients. I would like to thank the whole Nursing staff, Administration staff, Housekeeping staff, and Kitchen staff for all you do here at Kindred Northlake. Thank you for being just who you are loving, caring, thoughtful, happy and joyful human-beings that see the positive outcoming of your patients. Thank you!

My sister was in this joint for 3-1/2 - 4 weeks. What a joke this place this place is. Many times my sister would do her menu & get a call from the kitchen telling her they had run out would she like a sandwich. She barely ate unless someone came from 100 mi. away. Her glasses broke several times & I took them once & had them fixed for her as did one of the workers. She asked for a cup of tea told her no. & all morning & the nurses stood behind the desk & gossip & laugh. As if they had nothing to do & believe me they didnt do much. The first time her son went to visit he had a fit because her room was filthy & she had only been there overnight. I dont know who governs over this place but they need to open their eyes. The meals they serve are gross. my sister hardly ever refuses a decent meal. . It is old & not a very nice place to stay. Also I dont think she was treated for her lung problem which is one of her problems. They were supposed to wean her oxygen down & didnt.. It is one of the worst hospitals I have ever seen. They never checked on her at night & her oxygen mask fell on the floor & they never noticed. People who read this take a warning from one who knows.DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS HOSPITAL OR YOU MAY BE SORRY.

I would like commend the work of some KindredNorthlake Nurses, CNAs Therapy, Michael and food department. Michaels not only does well in his department. Michael assists with helping us fill out the menu. The first day I arrived to Kindred Northalke Hospital, he assisted me and asked if I was in need of anything before he left the room. Michael has helped with water, repositioning and cheerleading; to keep me in good spirit. He has gone above and beyond his positions help me and Im sure hes did the same exact thing for every other thats here. My mother loves him too. This facility has gain an asset by having a handful of "Michaels" on their possession. Hurray for Michael at Kindred Northlake Hospital. Ive had many Nurses and CNAs in my stay at Kindred Norhtlake Hospital. I do not remember them all but I do know that Kindred Northlake Hospital would not do well without the nurse Jude on the third floor, Lugene, Tanisha, Christine, Tess, Muhammad, Jesus, Kathy and Delilah, the CNA. I would not have accomplished all I have if it was not for "Mr. B" and "Vee" from therapy. They are God sent! I may have forgotten a few outstanding staff members but the good ones always stay in my mind.

To whom is may concern, My name is Jerry Moore. I am being discharged today. I would like to thank the Kindred Northlake family for being helpful and nice. When I put on the call light your nursing staff responds promptly, they listen and answer my request whether if its just for a cup of water. The staff here are so kind and compassionate, they really helped me feel comfortable and safe. Not only is this my second experience here but it was one of the best experiences Ive had since my last visit. I would like to acknowledge and thank the entire Therapy department, my Case Manager, the entire House Keeping department and the entire Kitchen department. I would like to send a special thanks to the Patient Relations Rep. Michael A. Thompson. However, you by far have been the best. The service you provide is greatly needed. I forward to stopping by into my room to encourage me and talking with me. Thank Kindred Northlake Family and continue to do the good work. You all are hard workers and great people.
