I moved to the area a few months ago and was looking for a Dental office for my family. I have three kids and we really liked our old dentist so this was a big decision. I called Dental Care of South Elgin because they are minutes from our new home and were offering a special which was $59.00 for an exam and x-rays. Wow, I thought, this is great. Just a little background about me. I always get my teeth examined and cleaned every six months and in 40 years have had 3 cavities. I floss and brush with a Sonicare toothbrush am healthy and don’t eat a lot of sugar. I’m a Detective and investigate fraud for a living. When I arrived at the office I was very impressed with the waiting room and everyone was very pleasant. My first flag was when I asked them how much it was to seal children’s teeth because my kids are ready to have that done. They acted really nervous and kept asking each other what to say. They finally quoted me $70.00 a tooth then said but we usually charge $35.00. Okay I, get it, you charge people with insurance more. I don’t have insurance but whatever, I’m just getting prices. Not great but I understand. I was next given x-rays on a fancy 360 degree machine then the bite wings and an exam with two practitioners assisting one another. I was impressed with all the new equipment and the level of personnel who were assisting me for my $59.00 routine exam! After the exam I was ready to leave not expecting any issues and was told a lady would be with me in a few minutes to present me with an “action plan”. Sounds ominous. A lady that I had not seen before them came in with a clip board and very seriously proceeded to tell me I had 9 cavities!! I actually laughed and asked her if it was a joke. She said no and that for roughly $2,300 which I can make in two payments they would make me all better. Now mind you I’ve had 3 cavities in 40 years and was just at my regular dentist whom I’ve known since I was a child 6 months ago so I’m pretty sure unless I developed an addiction to taffy they’re mistaken. When I told her I was going to leave she made me sign the quote as if they were limiting their liability in case after I left my teeth exploded or something. I left and was pretty angry over the whole episode. I then did a little research on Dr. Nosrati which I should have done earlier and if you read the reviews of her from her former office in Orland Park you will see that I am not alone. I then went back to my old doctor and asked the office to send my x-rays to him to review. I met him and another dentist for a third opinion. At this point I wanted to make sure he hadn’t missed anything and also wanted to document what I thought was the fraud committed by the other office. The consensus was my teeth are fine. It appears, according to the experts I talked to, Dental Care of South Elgin may be lacking in ethics. They actually wanted to drill out my old fillings and fill them again. Both dentists who reviewed Dr. Nosrati’s work told me what Dr. Nosrati was seeing in her x-rays was actually the bonding agent that is used to hold in the filling. They could not explain the ones that were not fillings and explained that by drilling into people’s teeth for no reason they are actually weakening the structure of the tooth and creating even more problems over the person’s lifetime. I guess now I know how they can offer $59.00 exams and have such a large staff and fancy equipment. I plan on filing a complaint against them with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. In my opinion, as a father and Certified Fraud Examiner, this office lacks ethics and is running a scam.

I was having pain/sensitivity in one of my teeth, and I dont have dental insurance. When I received the coupons in the mail I thought wow this is great, I can see if I have a cavity before making an exam appt for the $100+ it normally is. I went in and the place was beautiful! I got taken back, and got X-rays of my top right four teeth. A young male doctor came back to view my x-rays and take a look closer. He was tapping on my teeth and none of them hurt. He starts naming off "decay, decay, decay" to the assistant. He then tells me all four of my teeth have cavities, some under existing fillings. He also said that one cavity is very deep, and if I dont get it filled ASAP I will need a root canal. Lastly, he said I may need a crown and pins(?) on one of my teeth. Now of course, Im in panic mode. It had only been a bit over a year since I was last at the dentist with no issues so how could the only four teeth he looked at all have issues. Not to mention the sensitivity I had was very minimal. The front desk lady came back with a clip board stating the "action plan" totaling out to be $2-3,000. She said she would give me 10% off if I got the filling done that one day. I said I was going to look into dental insurance and left. They have since called and left a voicemail asking when Im going back in. Today I went back to my regular dentist to see what was really wrong. He confirmed that NOTHING is wrong! He said if they were to take out my existing filling I would need a root canal. I am livid! Moral of the story - avoid this place! They are a SCAM! This place needs to be closed down, and I will be contacting the better business bureau.

I have been to this dentistry multiple times over the last year and each experience was great and painless. When I first went about a year ago, I had to get my wisdom teeth out because the were hurting me. I walked in and the place was so clean and they had a very friendly (and pretty) staff. When I was getting my teeth removed I never felt like they were doing anything I didnt want. Tami was great and I have been going back to her ever since. She knows what she is doing, she wants to get you in and out which is what I want, and she would answer any question I asked. After a few times, it is now pleasant to go, they know me by name and always tell me everything I need to know. I never paid much out of pocket with my insurance, didnt seem to have any issues with how they rang me up. You can always tell them you do or dont want something, and they make the adjustments. Overall this a great place to get your teeth worked on by professionals, and I recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist.

I have had so many negative dental experiences since I was young but a good friend referred me to Dental Care of South Elgin- and I cant thank her enough now!!! The whole staff made me feel so comfortable from the start. The front desk staff made sure to accommodate my hectic work schedule and the assistants in the back helped ease my nerves. Dr. Albazzaz was so patient with me, made sure to answer all my questions, and actually was able to get me to feel completely comfortable with the treatment I needed. I cant imagine ever seeing anyone else for dental care! I highly recommend!!! Thank you!
