Went to Dyer Family Dentistry to get a consultation on implants, which their article said it was free in the paper. Filled out paper work. Was told I was getting a free scan but would have to pay $101.00 for x-rays. Dr. Atcha looked in my mouth and said he would review the scan and see me in another room. We went over the cost and he showed me where the implants would go. I had a few questions he answered. He then left and his assistant asked about doing the application for the credit. I really did not want to do anything before speaking to my husband. She insisted I do it. The first one rejected it. But the other approve it. I again said I needed to speak with my husband. She walked out the door and came back and said the Dr. wanted to know if I wanted to call him from there. $11,000.00 was not something I could make a decision on over the phone. I was pressured as if I was buying a car. I asked her what the $101.00 was for because they did not do any x-rays. She left and when she came back she said it was for his exam and slices he had on the scan. I left feeling they got me in there and made a charge for nothing other than a consultation. The next day I called and asked again what the charge was for. Was told a few different things, I was an emergency patient! Now over a month later my dental insurance has never received a claim. Called the office early morning for them to submit one. Response, I will look into it and someone will call you. Early afternoon returned a call and who ever was out to lunch. Received a call only about a hour and a half later. She said they were sending in one to my insurance, I asked what the code was on it. Respond was 70 something for the exam and 20 something for the scan. I told her the scan was free when I paid. I hung up with them and a few minutes later Dr. Atcha called and asked why I was harassing his employees. He told me a free consultation was for people with no teeth that needed them all. I told him I need to call channel 7 and he asked if I was threating him. With a no I responded! He asked if $101.00 was going to break me. Yes I said when I did not get the x rays that she said I needed in the very beginning. He also asked why I paid it. He said lets see how much the insurance can help you out. Yes I did get a receipt with no explanation of what the money was for. Waiting for the insurance respond. According from the BBB his respond he charge me $101.00 for a limited exam. The final thing he said I had called the wrong # for implants. ?????

I honestly wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. They do okay dental work (the work they have done to me turned out fine but my husband? Still having trouble) but weve had MORE than enough trouble with their billing procedures. Extremely long story short - they didnt file a claim to our insurance on some work I had done then 2 months later (a day before my husband was going BACK in to have his tooth looked at AGAIN by them because it was still painful) - they leave a voicemail saying they cant see him the next day because we owe ,well, a considerable amount of money. I call the insurance to see why it hasnt been paid only to find out - their office never filed the claim. The next day I call to discuss this with them only to find out they took it upon themselves to go ahead and charge the amount to a credit card that they had NO authorization to charge. We have on file our personal Visa to charge if anything was to have happened but instead they charged our Wage Works health care cards that we have to submit receipts & ledgers for EVERY time it is swiped (a HUGE charge like that looks very suspicious dont you think? This could result in serious trouble for us because of them) --- It has taken over a week to get things straightened out (and its still not 100% YET!) but they FINALLY filed the claim to the insurance & in a few weeks we should get a reimbursement for the hundreds of dollars they made us pay anyways. This place is a mess. The dentist was nice enough. The hygienists are nice enough. The front desk area? Terrible. They have no idea what theyre doing & in the long run it could cost you hundreds of dollars. The "nice" dentist & hygienists are not enough to keep us going there to deal with their crap. It was (and still is...until we get reimbursed) extremely stressful for us and extremely unprofessional on their part. We have requested copies of our X-rays & charts & will be moving on.

I went to this place of business a few years back before they had new dentists and new office staff, for example Michelle their "office mgr". When we returned because a crown I had received 3 years prior cracked I was surprised to see an entirely new staff. Michelle introduced her self, and like Rangoon0337 she told me that we were "never in network" and that the former staff was lying"! That she didnt know how my crown was covered before? After several conversations with her assuring me my insurance Delta Dental was in network and has APPROVED my new crown being paid for 50% as my plan had stated with the paperwork I received explaining crowns were covered 50 %. I paid approx. $482.00 before the new crown was ordered and was told by Michelle to"wait until 12/129/11 to have it put in because that was the 3 year date and I had to "wait 3 years for it to be covered". My new crown had come in during the first week or so in Dec. but I waited until 12/29 so it would be covered as per Michelles advice. I went in on 12/29/11, had it put in, and just this past Friday, 2/17/12 I was called by someone other than Michelle and told my insurance would not cover the 50% of my crown because it had to be"5yrs" not 3 yrs."? Michelle didnt have the gall to call me herself she has one of her staff do it! I explained to Michelle several times during this process from when she called me on my cell to schedule the crown to be made , to the day I actually came in to get the crown fitted, that I wanted to make sure it was covered and approved...she assured me several times that she "had spoken with Delta Dental and I was" good to go. " I have caught her in several lies during this time frame, after the fact, now she thinks she will get away with another one......she has met her match, I will see her and Dyer Family Dentistry in court if it comes to that!

I would just like to say thank you to Dr. Kapadia and all the staff at Dyer Family Dentistry! Everyone is beyond nice and friendly. I heard a commercial on the radio and thought "why not try a new dentist?" I needed to get a cavity filled (my first one ever). I ended up have many fillings filled. You have the best reception staff, and they give you so many options for scheduling. Recently, I also had an accident at work. My two front teeth had been hit and needed to be replaced. I had an old crown and bad bonding on my two front teeth that was done years ago. I had a bike accident when I was 11 and my old dentist put a huge crown in, he said I would grow into it. Well I never grew into it and it had discolored. I was so self-conscious about them that I would even cover my smile with my hand. I was scared that I was not going to look the same. When I came in Alice took care of everything and I didnt have to worry about any workmans compensation problems. Thank you! Dr. Kapadia and her staff made me feel extremely comfortable. I had my teeth whitened, and they look great. Lindsy did a great job making sure I was comfortable and she even popped in a movie for me to watch. Everyone worked very hard to make my experience wonderful. I was even sent to the dental lab to get a custom color match for my new teeth. My new crown and veneer look wonderful. My co-workers joked that they need to get hurt so their teeth can look as good as mine. My mom noticed my teeth within 30 seconds of me walking in her door. It is a great feeling to smile again. I love my new, white, and cosmetic smile. Thank you again for all of your help.
