I transferred from another doctor who moved. I didnt know there was such a big difference. Here at Kansas Spine & Specialty Hospital, Dr. Jared Scott and P.A. Rhonda Jantzen have proven to be two of the best, most ethical, conscientious, and professional people who have treated me. Dr. Scott has specialized touch as well as training. Where I can sense millimeters of movement in my fingers he can sense tenths of millimeters in his. His care in wanting to prevent suffering, his demonstrated empathy, seems to exceed that of other doctors I have encountered. In artistic terms, other doctors are mechanics and Scott is an artist. Rhonda Jantzen is a no-nonsense caring medical person who puts the patients emotional and physical concerns first. Again, the difference is between a group of overworked auto mechanics and a group of doctors who qualify in caring for Doctors Without Borders. Scott and Jantzen make a good team. Im 69 years old now, and only the Lord knows how long Ive got left. I trust my physical agonies with these two people, and I am giving them publicly the broadest endorsement I can as a private individual. If youre suffering, and not just a fraud, Kansas Spine & Specialty Hospital, Dr. Scott & Rhonda Jantzen, will treat you with utmost respect and dignity, and provide you with modern up-to-date, state of the art technological care. My husband had a procedure done by Dr James Weimer and we were extremely impressed with the facility, nurses, doctor,etc.... I recommended Dr Weimer to my mom and we were, again, impressed with Dr Weimer and his PA, Tony, but I wasnt impressed with some of the nurses that took care of her post operative (kept forgetting to bring in pain meds) which lead to poor pain control, housekeeping never came in and cleaned the bathroom, even though she was sharing a bathroom with another patient, her food was cold. On top of all that, its like pulling nails to get his nurse to call us back ...Im talking like its taken over a week to get someone to call us back regarding making a follow up apnt because that was over looked before she got dismissed . We even tried calling his nurse when she got home from the hospital because her pain meds were not controlling her pain and nobody ever called us back regarding that. Not a good experience all around....

I stayed in this hospital for a day and a half after a major spine surgery and could not have had a worse experience. The male nurse who was assigned to my post-op care exposed me to an allergen that caused extremely uncomfortable hives, and caused an infection in my 12 inch long spine incision. I believe he did this intentionally since my records clearly describe my allergies and I was ignored when i brought it to their attention. I also was denied adequate treatment for post-surgical pain beyond the first 12 hours. All other staff were excellent!

There is absolutely no regard for patient well being. It is nearly impossible to get anyone to return phone calls or to help with pain management. They cant keep track of their paperwork, and rely on the patient to push for any action from both the doctor and insurance as apparently the two do not communicate without patient intervention. When there are complications there is no follow up from staff. They are there to make money, with no concern about the patient.

I had a cortisone injection done this week by Dr. Damion Walker and could not have been more impressed with the facility, the compassion of the nurses, and the efficient admitting staff. My OR nurse, Susie Coins, was absolutely amazing! She explained the procedure, stayed with me for the required 15 minutes afterward, walked me to my car, and then called the next day to see how I was feeling. Great experience!

Its been two weeks since I had an appointment with Dr. Dickerson and he has still not reviewed my MRI like he said he would. There is not much positive feelings or attitude going on when the doctor tells you one thing and another happens. My pain steadily grows, my muscles get steadily weaker and I get more and more addicted to pain pills to dull the pain. Just send me to another doctor if you cant help me.

I can not begin to put into words the appreciation and respect that I have for this facility and its staff. Dr. Matthew Henry, PA Faith Ediger I owe you so much! Everyone took care of me and treated my family like their own during what I can only describe as the scariest week of my life. Special thanks to my nurse, Casey, for cheering me on when I wanted to quit. I will never forget your compassion.

Kansas Spine & Specialty Hospital is an amazing facility. I had a procedure called TLIF done 4 weeks ago and I am completely satisfied with the results. I am grateful that I chose Dr. James D. Weimar to perform this procedure and also thankful to have had it done at this hospital. Wonderful nurses, friendly staff, and a sparkling clean facility made my experience a success!
