Ive been taking my dogs and cat there for about four years now. I dont get why people are complaining about the staff. I mean its not the most professional atmosphere, but it really doesnt need to be. I would say its more of a laid back front desk position, which I actually prefer. The receptionist doesnt need to be uptight, they simply need to check me in and check me out. They do this wonderfully. Now, every Dr. Ive ever seen there has been knowledgeable and has treated the root problem with a precise execution where there is the correct balance of care in terms of treating it as simply as possible, but not in such a way that will prolong the issue. I get a feeling of years of knowledge and a laid back atmosphere, and people who really care about their work and dont have to dress the part, because they act it so well. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone, and actually have on more than a few occasions.

The worst experience I have ever been through in my life. I came there with my first dog for a couple of years and they were alright. What finished it off for me was when my dog was elderly and very ill, I rushed him there and needed help getting him out of the car and into the office for medical attention due to the fact that he was a large breed dog and wasnt able to walk because of how bad he was doing. They told me that I had to wait my turn... They made their way out after about 10 minutes, after my dog had passed while I was there waiting with him because I didnt want to leave him alone. I was hysterical at that point and the only thing they could say to me was to ask me to come in and pay... No apology, nothing. I will NEVER be back and will advise everyone I know to never go there. As far as I am concerned they do not have your pets best interest at heart.

receptionist very rude, no wonder they have been hiring forever. never answering with a name (probably to hide themselves) never helpful, and replies with "mmmhmm" as their warm goodbye. Whatever happen to " Good afternoon from sims animal hospital this is so and so how can i help you today? oh hi miss. smith how is your cat doing today? im not sure but will get to you as soon as i find out. you have a great evening miss. smith" However, aside from the front staff Dr. Evans is great, honestly cares about his patients. but wouldnt it be nice if the perosn you are leaving your beloved pet with at least pretended to care.

Ive used Sims for years so we had our latest pet spayed there. We will never go back. I didnt like the stitching first off. Very bunched up. They did not provide post opt instructions except to give the pain pills. When I noticed she just wouldnt leave the incision alone I called. They said to keep her off of it but not really how. A week later we are at the 24 hour animal hospital. It was infected and I was told she was having a reaction to the stitches. It still looks bad but she is getting better. The receptionist was really nice but I didnt feel the care and compassion toward my pet like my new vet.

First visit last sat, had to have one of our babies put down. Able to get us in last minute, staff and Dr were as good as anyone could ask for many questions as we had previously taken him to our old Vet in Salem and she had not seen him before. Was genuinely concerned and never appeared that she was just there to collect a fee. She even cried with me as my Leo slipped into kitty heaven. Afterward, told me i could use the room as long as i needed to compose myself and say goodbye. Cant get anymore caring than that in my view. I will definitely start bringing my other kitties to her.

I only go to this animal hospital because it has late hours so I am able to purchase cat food when I get off work. The whole place stinks and is very dirty. The staff is very rude and not very well educated. I took my cat there because he had a severe UTI and ended up paying double what I had paid at another animal hospital. I would not reccommend taking your pet there for any sort of care. I get frustrated just purchasing cat food, the staff is slow to help and never personable.

Its an old building. But I even board my dog here. Ive used Sims for years. While they may not have the newest technology. They also have years of experience. they have had great compassion when both my dogs had to be put down. They arent always worried about how much money they can make. They will figure out the most cost efficient way to cut down the price of medications when needed. Ive gone other places and always come back.

The vet and assistants are kind enough and mean well, and the prices cant be beat by more commercial places...but the exam room is filthy, the surgery table is rusted, their cabinets are falling apart, and the whole place reeks of rotten feet. Theyll take care of your pets, but you may not be able to stand going in due to sanitary conditions

Have been using this vet for 12 years and would not change a thing. They have gone through thick and thin with us. The heartache of losing a pet is bad enough (weve had to put down 2 including my mother-in-laws cat) but their vets are kind. I have referred many people to them through the years and will continue.

I have been taking my pets here for years. I have had everything feom parvo, to leukemia, and diabetes going on and they were nothing nut spot on. My cat with feline leukemia i went 3! Vet amd all said put her down, but not sims they cared for her so much. She lived a long and happy life thanks to them.

They killed our Duke. He was just eight years old and doing great. They told us he had to get his Parvo shot before they would groom him. They gave him that shot plus three others without our permission. He started down hill the day we brought him home and died in two weeks.

I saw a bunch of bad reviews about this place so I had to say something. My family has being taking our pets here for years and I wouldnt go anywhere else! Dr. Sims is the best! I am very picky when it comes to who takes care of my pets, so thats saying a lot.

Ive been taking dogs here for about 30 years. Like most places, Ive had some disappointments, but many more good experiences. Dr. Evans has always been excellent. He’s knowledgeable, professional and genuinely interested in the pets and their owners.
