The staff honestly seems to want to make it as difficult as possible to do business. We lost a pair of glasses and needed a replacement urgently. They REFUSED to sell us a pair of glasses until and unless my son came in for a new exam, even though he could not see and was trying to get through the day at school - missing hours of class would be a big deal for him, and we gladly would have come in at the next possible after school appointment to purchase a second pair. Dr. Shumaker apologized and helped us out - Dr. Shumaker is a great guy and seems to do good work. I just got off the phone with them again, about a year later for an entirely different issue, and they were of absolutely no help, and antagonistic, once again. The staff said that yes, my sons glasses may no longer be the right prescription for him because the PD (pupillary distance) may have changed since his last exam, but even if I came in for an exam, they could not give me that number because of the law (I originally called for the PD number). So, nevermind that Im wondering if my sons glasses are right for him after growing for a few years, the representative from Vision One said that I should probably go elsewhere if I wanted to make sure that my sons prescription was accurate. All because I asked for the PD number. So I guess I will. Very disappointing.

Other than Dr. Karen Manko the staff here seemed disinterested in their jobs, the front desk reception always managed to screw something up even though we were always prepared before we came in. During my last visit I could actually over hear them talking about other customers looks in the lobby area; needless to say it left me feeling annoyed. Getting glasses or contacts should be a fun experience and honestly Vision One misses the mark completely. They also refused to give me my PD number, which I will never understand. If I pay for an exam it should include this number, not everyone wants your overpriced frames. Lenscrafters, Costco and Sams Club give these numbers freely with prescriptions, so I dont believe them when they say its a law. This place was a little too opportunistic for my tastes, look elsewhere.

Vision One is an outstanding eyecare center. I am nearly 80 years old. I have been going here for approximately 30 years and they have made sure my vision continues to be excellent and my eye health is as healthy as it was years ago. Appointments are easily made; staff is friendly and helpful and Lynn Shewmaker is an outstanding optometrist. I would recommend Vision One to any one to insure visual acuity and vision health.

Excellent exams and eyewear. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hours on some evenings and Saturday, getting an appointment when you need it.is wonderful. No long delays, you dont wait for a long time to be called back. Doctors very friendly and up ro date on current eye procedures. Techs also very friendly and knowledgeable. Good selection on top eyeware. This is the only place to go if you need eye care.

Great doctors and service. I have one grip. After being a patent for 30 plus years and spending thousands of dollars on glasses in their store, the one time I wanted to buy a cheap backup pair of glasses online they would not tell me the pupil distant they measured on the last pair of glasses I purchased. I am very disappointed. I paid them to gather that information. I should have access to it.

Dr. Shewmaker and Vision One have been taking care of my eyes for years now. They take a modern approach, always updating and utilizing the newest technologies with regard to their diagnostic tools, but match that with a family-like atmosphere. Its not like going to see a doctor, but going to see old friends who just happen to know your eyes inside and out.
