EXCELLENT STAFF & EXPERIENCE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Took my cat to Dr. Turns after 2 horrible experiences @ 2 other vets (1 did NO exam & shot her full of super antibiotic w/ potentially dangerous side effects including death!) based on me saying i suspected she previously had food allergy & MAYBE a UTI; 2nd vet found tapeworms immediately & then charged me a fortune for x-rays to then diagnose her w/ enlarged heart. Started her on meds as if she was in active heart failure (which after I researched for hrs. decided NOT to give her because she has NO symptoms of CHF & more specific testing should be done before ANY meds are given!); he also wanted to add a 2nd daily med after hundreds of dollars of BASIC blood work in 3 wks. Told me prognosis wasnt good as if she could die any moment! Doerr Animal Clinic got me in immediately next morning. Dr. Turns was extremely patient, did full exam, explained everything in detail. He did find heart murmur & agreed she PREVIOUSLY had what appeared to most likely be a food allergy (that I already addressed & her symptoms have subsided greatly). Did FULL blood work including urinalysis & checked heart enzymes. EVERYTHING was normal. Gave me topical 2nd dose of tapeworm meds to administer at home (other vet wanted me to pay office visit for them to give her another pill). Even when I paid bill Dr. had accidentally quoted me incorrect price for tapeworm med & staff adjusted charge no questions asked! Yes I have to have reg. check-ups every 6-12 mths. to monitor heart murmur, but NO my fur baby does NOT need ANY meds & could potentially live normal long life!! No need for real concern unless future tests show something or she starts having symptoms. Thank you DHC for actually CARING & knowing what youre doing!!

I love the wonderful staff at Doerr Animal Clinic. Everyone Ive met there has been caring and kind. I had elderly pets that have needed special care and the staff took great care of them. One of my cats loved being boarded there, she did well, she considered it her own personal day spa. The staff is first-rate and I cant say enough good things about them. They are kind and helpful and I think theyre flat-out wonderful. I consider myself very lucky to have all of these wonderful people in my life. UPDATE: After reading some of the other reviews and the issue of "more expensive than others" is mentioned, I have to say I disagree. I find the prices to be in line with other veterinary clinics in the area. More importantly, however, is the level of care at Doerr. Everything is explained, costs explained, and they dont try to guilt you into having a procedure for your pet that you either cant pay for or are unwilling to have done. Even more importantly -- to me -- is the responsiveness of the staff. Calls are returned quickly. Im never treated as if Im an imposition to the staff, and Im never, EVER put on indefinite "Hold" when I call in with a question or a need (which is rare, but still...). The vets are caring and take time to get to know you and your pet. The staff treats you like youre the only client they have, and to me, thats worth every dollar I spend at Doerr. I presently have four cats so yes, I see the vet and staff often through the year (the vaccination schedule is staggered). I recommend Doerr for a high level of care for my pets and for the kindness and professionalism of the staff.

I took my dog to the Doerr Animal Clinic for over 13 yrs, she always received excellent care and the staff is very kind and caring. The care that she received was professional, knowledgeable and compassionate therefore the cost paid was worth well worth it.. Options were always discussed including cost and I always felt I had all the information needed to make the best decisions I could make for her during her 13 years in their care. Especially the last decision I ever had to make. Recently I had to let her go, she was over 13 years old with several health problems and it was time to send her on her way. I cant say enough for the way Dr. Turns and staff assisted me through a very difficult experience. When I am ready for another companion I will be back-I would not take my pets any place else.

I love this office!! I just recently moved to the area and had to find a new vet. I had been seeing my familys life long vet. The old vet had a history of making me feel like a burden. However, today at Doerr the people were so nice to me on the phone. I wasnt a burden or bothering them. They helped me get in touch with the Dr. to discuss the medication and they dealt with my tireless phone tag. I really appreciate them and plan on continuing to use them for all my pets. As a pet owner I dont make those phone calls to bug someone. I make them because I am concerned. I appreciate the fact these people jumped on board with my concern and were willing to help me find a resolution. I could not be happier with the service!

The previous review is not true. Dr. Doerr and the other veterinarians do recommend tests that are an optional part of the visit, and they discuss why they are recommending them. If you ask how much the tests cost they provide this information. They certainly do not try to hide anything. I have had a wonderful experience with Doerr Animal Clinic, and they have taken wonderful care of my three pets. I personally like that they offer yearly bloodwork for my pets because I know they are getting a thorough exam. Also, if any of my pets do develop a major medical problem, I know it will be diagnosed earlier and will be more treatable.

Since I have been a kid, my family has taken our 4 legged family members to Doerr Animal Clinic, and now, as an adult, it is the only place I will take them. I have always loved the care that the staff has shown my animals. Issues are always explored, not just handed drugs because. When we have had to make to hard decisions that all pet owners have to make, everyone at Doerr has been amazing with our pets, and with us. Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about these guys.

I really like Doerrs Animal Clinic. The prices are a bit higher then some other places but its worth it for quality care. They have always treated my animals very well. I think the only complaint I can even come close to having about the place is the small rooms. we usually come in with a whole hoard of animals and space is cramped. The staff at this vet clinic are helpful and very pleasant to deal with. If your looking for a new vet clinic this a good choice to consider.

My Pomeranian is 7 years old. Ive been bringing her here since she was only a few months old. Dr. Turns and the staff here have always been so caring and attentive to her and her epilepsy. I always recommend Doerr Animal clinic to any one looking for a veterinarian. Dr. Turns is very talented and compassionate. You can tell the staff here truly love what they do and have a love for animals.
