Bart the groomer called me and told me to call the front desk, but not to let them know that he told me to call the front desk. He actually said my call would put a fire under the vet staff staff to complete my dogs shots. 2. After several hours, I called, because no one let me know my dog was ready. When I went to pick up my dog, he had an amazing amount of visible dander and the hair on his head was not cut in proportion to the hair on his body. This should have been taken care of before I picked up my dog When I brought this up, a staff person told me that I should find some where else to take my dog. 3. Tamara, the office manager, has no idea what good customer service is. She told me that shed check with her staff to get both sides of the story. There is no both sides of the story. The customer is always right. I did not like the way my dog was groomed. I should not have been told to find some where else to go. 4. St. Matthews vet should have simply heard my dissatisfaction and told me how they could improve their service instead of trying to place blame on me and telling me to go some place else. The staff person who said I should go some where else must has no clue how ignorant and rude she sounded. Her mother should be ashamed of her as a human being. 5. I will definitely not be supporting too many more of these ignorant, Kentucky hillbilly establishments. They have poor trash standards of doing business. Now, Im doubting the doctors even have legitimate licenses and I doubt my dog got actual vaccinations and St. Matthews vet probably lied about taking a stool sample. St. Matthews vet is the Three Stooges of animal care.

Ive had two cats put to sleep and the staff was wonderful. I now have two dogs and am in and out all the time. When my boy, who has epilepsy, went into a bad seizure they took us right in and he was surrounded by help immediately. When I brought in a dog that someone had literally thrown out of his truck they took him in and worked to get him into a rescue place (something I was unable to do myself). They did surgery on him and he now has a new home. Hours are great. Cant say enough good things about them. Their groomer, Lawrence, is also stellar. The only negative thing I can say is that I sometimes have to wait and my dogs are large and scaredy cats, so that can be an adventure. Ive seen several different vets and like them all. I cant imagine going anywhere else.

When our dog, Jack, suddenly showed signs of some sort of injury, our usual vet. A neighbor had recommended St. Matthews, so I gave them a call. They gave us a walk-in appointment and saw Jack within two hours. His injury was actually quite serious, and Dr. Shumaker immediately connected us with an emergency vet who was able to perform surgery. What we didnt expect, though, was a follow-up phone call from Dr. Shumaker the next day, just to see how Jack was doing. We ended up returning to St. Matthews for support with some care issues after the surgery, and they have helped us so much since then (all at a very reasonable cost, I might add). Jack is still recovering and will be for some time, but he wouldnt be on the road to recovery without the care he received there.

AWFUL BOARDING. I cant speak to quality of the veterinary care (everyone seemed friendly) but we had a "gotcha! moment" with our 1 night boarding. On the way home for the holidays we stopped in Louisville for the night having called ahead for a reservation and receiving a $20 nightly quote for a 60 lb dog. However, they failed to mention $25 for a bordetella booster (half the vet standard frequency) and, oh yeah, an intestinal parasite analysis for $34.20 required EVERY TIME you board. Total Bill? Over $80! I might as well have rented my dog his own hotel room. My dog was up-to-date with everything our local vet recommended and none of this was explained to me until we were at the clinic, already late for dinner reservations. Just sleezy man....sleezy.

St. Matthews Animal Clinic is the only place I would take my "child" Lucille. I totally trust them with her. She truly is my child and they always take such good care of her on all our visits. The staff all around are just very friendly and very helpful. We have seen most of the docs there and I feel comfortable having any of them see Lucille. Dr. Hindman is our main vet there and she is awesome!!!! Lucille (dog) doesnt like getting on the exam table, so Dr. Hindman will get down on the floor and sit and examine her there. If you are looking for a vet that you know will have your pet/pets best interest in mind, then you need to go to St. Matthews Animal Clinic.

I literally have no idea why someone would leave this amazing place a bad review or anything less than 5 stars. I had an appointment this morning for my fur babies at 9:15 am and we saw the doctor within just a few minutes. First off, how awesome is that? Considering everywhere else youll wait an hour. This was our first visit and NOT our last. The staff was amazing and so so sweet to Dexter and Ollie and Dr. Tara McCoy is so lovely and made you feel right at home. I wouldnt trust my kitties with anyone else but her. Thank you for everything today. My babies mean the world to me and I felt as if they meant the world to her too. If you need a new vet, see her!!!

The Clinic has a staff of caring, devoted employees. When Wynston was injured on a Saturday afternoon, they were open are able to take him, even though they were already very busy. Wynston was bandaged up in a short period of time and I was given good instructions for his care. Yesterday Wynston was in for his annual check up and vaccinations. The doctors noticed he had gained some weight, so he is now on a diet plan to help get him back to his four-year-old weight. They even took care of his registration and printed the new tag on site, which saved me a lot of time! Organized, fast service, expert advice. Wynston is a loyal customer.

Nothing but good things to say about the staff and facility. I called as a new patient around 5:30 pm and they were able to get me in within an hour that day to have my dog seen for a limp. Even though they close at 7:30, they stayed to finish x-rays and examination on my dog to make sure we knew what we needed to do. The Staff is great at being able to thoroughly explain whatever may be wrong with your pet, no matter your understanding of medical terminology. They even took the time to trim his nails as well while he was already sedated while we were already there after closing hours.

I had a wonderful experience with this vet. The doctor that helped me was absolutely wonderful. My 4 year old dog was poisoned by my neighbor and this vet went out of her way to help my dog. She knew that I was on a budget and gave me all the donated medicine that would help my dog through this horrible situation. She tried to ease my mind in dealing with this tragedy. She was very compassionate with me and my dog and understood my problem with my neighbor and my money situation. I would recommend the veterinary clinic to anyone. Very caring staff and doctor reside here.
