My entire family takes our pets to Live Oak Animal Hospital. The staff is very friendly with both their patients and the family. However, when I brought my cat to get declawed, I was very disappointed. His feet looked like they went through a turbine and it was aweful. I have had numerous cats have this procedure without having such a bad outcome. For this reason, I will never take an animal to this clinic. Also, my grandmother brings her small dog to stay at the clinic when she is out of town or has a family emergency. In late 2007, the dog was injured by a larger stray dog in the neighborhood and due to Dr. Rushing not putting in drainage tubes where the deep wounds were, the dog had to undergo further surgeries and suffering when bad infections set in. When we consulted another vet, she was disgusted with the initial treatment of the dog. On a separate incident, when the dog was left there overnight, she was sent home with feces all over here that had dried and turned her fur yellow. When we complained, they "bathed" the dog. However, she still was sent home dirty and the only apology we received was none - we did not receive an apology. Only an "oh well". Many people can be nice to animals...but if you lack the medical skills to treat/perform surgery on an animal, you should not be granted a DVM. I highly recommend using another vet in the area for the care of your animal. You would not go to a doctor or dentist who was nice but incompetent....why put your pet through that?!

I used to bring my dog here, only to find I was getting ripped off with $60 visit dues; whereas Associated Vet Services charged me over half the cost. I was told and given an estimate for well over a minimum of $300 to have my dog neutered, versus $100 max. from Associated Vet Services. The staff and vets are very kind and considerate; yet they rip people off and more than likely are completely aware of this. As well, when I brought my german shepherd a few months back to get dipped/get a bath, she was very allergic to whatever medication they used, and still itches and gnaws her fur off in various patches from anxiety. I now take my dogs to Watson Pet Hospital because its still almost half as much, and much closer than ASV. I also suggested people who dont enjoy throwing money away or burning it, to do the same.

I hit a puppy in the road when I came around a corner and she was there. I picked up the puppy and took her to this clinic because it was close. They started treating the puppy but I had an appointment I was late for so I told them I would be back shortly. When I returned, they told me I would have to pay an exorbitant fee for them to treat the dog for shock and a broken leg. I told them I could only pay some now and the rest when I got paid again. That vet told me she would unplug that puppy from treatment if I didnt pay in full right then. I couldnt, so they gave me back the puppy and charged me for seeing her. The puppy was treated elsewhere and the owner found. I will never take a pet to this vet who puts money before life, even if she is a mile down the road from me.

My husband & I inherited our daughters chihuahua. 2 yrs ago we built our retirement home & moved to the country. The dog developed a skin irritation & our Vet at the time put her on prednisone. It would go away & then come back, & like humans, they cant stay on steroids. We got tired of no "permanent" solution so we brought her to Dr McCutcheon at Live Oak Animal Hospital. She diagnosed her with the same skin irritation but she put her on another drug, were calling the "magical" pill. It works great & she has the prettiest coat now. By the way, shes also 13 yrs old! Were so thankful for Dr McCutcheons caring & kind way. She was our "first grand dog" & were grateful shes not scratching all the time anymore! Go see Dr McCutcheon, you wont be disappointed!

I would never go anywhere else. The doctors and staff not only take care of your pet with the highest level of care but they also show you unbelievable compassion and encouragement. I was on the road almost in Texas when my grandson called to share that my little Lola was bleeding very bad. I called the office to tell them she was coming in the office and why. I could not stop crying. When Lola arrived the doctor called me and was so compassionate. After my little Lola was no longer with us the doctor called me to assure me that she didnt suffer in anyway and that she was never alone. He also shared that she was held before, during and after her passing. Love this Hospital and all the staff.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Rushing and her fantastic staff. As far as Im concerned they are family. Monica always has a smile for me and my boys, when we walk through the door. Keri makes me laugh at every visit (and Keri, if you read this, Steve says "NO WE DONT NEED A CAT"!). Alexis will be out the door and have my huge bags of dog food loaded in the car, before I can finish paying. And Dr. Rushing is not only proficient and dedicated, but she also has a heart of gold when it comes to her patients. Thank you Live Oak Animal Hospital LLC - we love ya all!

One star due to not able to leave no star. Brought my puppy in sick they wouldnt hospitalize her Cuz I said I didnt have the money so they sent me home with a sick dog and 4 1/2 hours after I left there she dies. Worst place Ive ever brought my dog to. They wont even refund part of the money I spent in there. Who puts money before life rather it be human or a family pet? This place puts money first. Basically if you dont have money dont go there.

Pleasently suprised with the price of baths and nail clippings here. The employees are so nice and understanding. Our pup is part of thr family. Hes a rescue and HATES getting his nails clipped, he shakes, and throws up. They were so sweet to him and he was wagging his tail when I picked him up.

I called to inquire about the fee of having a dog neutered. I hung up when $250.00 came out of her mouth. I know Associated Veternarians on Greenwells Springs Road across from Greco only charges $40.00. No wonder people around the area fail to neuter their pets.
