I am not at all impressed with the pediatrics department. We were lectured because our daughter was being breastfed at 15 months and was not on whole cows milk. I spend 1/2 hour on hold waiting to make appointments for my kids to be told that the appointment line cannot make appointments for shots so they need to leave a message for pediatrics and call me back, but if I try to call pediatrics directly they tell me to call the appointment line. Questions regarding immunizations are met with generalizations and disdain, as if we are to do what we are told and keep our mouths shut. Because our health plan is through Johns Hopkins we have no other choices so we are stuck. We go to Righttime when our kids are sick and only go to our PCP for well visits / immunizations. We did switch from Thomas-King to Dr. Tsai and she is better for us but the office and their procedures still stink. I do have to say that specialty care through Johns Hopkins has been awesome.

Dr. Rojas was my OB during my pregnancy and for six months never knew my due date! How does that happen? He never even checked my charts and would ask every appointment (which was every two weeks being a high risk pregnancy) "whats your due date?"...Scary!...Then in the eight month, they called in a change to an exsisting prescription based on incorrect information without discussing it with me. Thank goodness the pharmacist questioned it! He told me if I had taken it, it would have killed me and my baby! No apologies, no mention after that. When I asked to speak with a physician to ask a question, I was told they were leaving for lunch and I would have to wait one hour to ask a question. Who treats patients like that? Buyer beware!

Had a physical scheduled months in advance. Told to fast. Double checked the day before what I needed to do regarding this. Fasted. Had spot. Then, when I checked out they told me, "Here, take this paperwork and go get blood drawn elsewhere." What?! No one told me I had to go elsewhere. I didnt have time to go get blood drawn, so I fasted for nothing and will have to work my schedule around to get this done. Terrible communication. Also, I had to wait 2 months just to get a physical partly completed. Not happy. This is not the first time they have given my family issues: family practice and pediatric.

Dr. Rojas was my wifes doctor for care leading up to, during, and following the delivery of our second child. We never had even a second in which we doubted his competence, and he was also very reassuring and explanatory. He helped us deliver as safely and quickly as possible at Howard County General Hospital, and continues to be my wifes OB/GYN. JHCP also provides care for my children, and as I am transitioning to a different job soon, we are going to make every effort to ensure that we choose a medical plan option that allows us to continue with JHCP at Howard County--its worth it!

This relates to the OBGYN practice!! They are horrible!! They gave me referrals and didnt explain where exactly I needed to go so I scheduled appointments only to find out that where I was could not see me. Then when I called the doctors office to have the correct information it took them 24 hours to change the information after calling them twice to have it corrected. Mind you the referral I had were time sensitive and the places where I need to go get them done were booked up for months!! All they could say was sorry!

This is only a review related to the pediatrics practice. good luck trying to make an appointment or even trying to get to the actual pediatric office. There are so many pre-screen answering calls you have to go through first. They obviously have too many patients and cannot keep up. You will wait at least 30min-1 hour. You will not likely see the actual doctor you made your appointment with. Also - the billing dept has no clue what is going on. Awful experience. Scary they are allowed to treat children.

I love the John Hopkins pediatrician and the gynecologic they are great . I never had a problem with them from getting an appointment nor else. My family doctor I dont like her to much because she is very cold and comment on my belly with out care that I have problem and the type problem that I have makes my belly swallows so every time o have to make a appointment I always try to see someone else instead her.

Dr. Lasser is an excellent pediatrician. I was concerned about finding the right doctor who would not over-prescribe/diagnose, but would be knowledgeable and wise. Dr. Lasser fit the bill. The phone system is frustrating. Expect to be on hold for a very long time. Use MyChart as often as possible. Expect to be on hold every time you call the office for at least 5 full minutes.

The nurse practitioner seemed very good, and knowledgeable. I have yet to see one of the doctors though. The reason for the low rating is that the people who you reach on the phone, and the people at the front desk are mostly bad at their jobs, and miserable in general. For such a big medical office they ought to be able to get some better administrative employees.

We love the pediatrics Dept...Dr. King is amazing and our absolute favorite! She takes her time, is thorough and sincerely cares about the well being of her patients. I cant imagine taking my sweet and amazing daughter to anyone else.

The physicians are attentive and I can get appointments the day of (even when calling at 5am). My 3 year old was running a 105 fever and the practice was very attentive in following up with courteous telephone calls to check-in.

Changing past review: it seems as though theyve made substantial improvements to the office in the past year to six months. Ill leave it purely at Dr. Shah is an AWESOME doctor. I really like working with him.

The front desk staff here is pretty rude and inattentive. Wait times are way too long, even with an appointment. I had to wait over an hour past my appointment time for each of my last 5 appointments.

Dr Shah provides excellent care and listens and takes the time necessary to address the issue. I noticed the front desk staff assisting elderly to avoid prolonged check-in.

No point in arriving to your appointment early, you will always be seen at least 30 mins after your scheduled appointment time.
