Seriously? This guy is an absolute joke and embarrassment to himself. First of all, he triple books his patients. If you dont mind waiting an hour to be seen, then thats okay. The problem with double and triple booking your patients, Mark, is that it results in you rushing them in and out of your office after doing a cursory evaluation with a dismissive attitude. I guess if your goal is to flip your patients faster than a waitress at Dennys on a Sunday afternoon so you can rake in a few extra grand a year, then by all means, continue making yourself look like a careless miser idiot. I dont care how highly lauded this guy is in the medical community. Maybe this guy is a great dermatologist if you have some textbook case, but dont expect him to be competent enough to diagnose/treat/consult on anything thats not the standard skin cancer or wart. He wont be able to spend more than 5 minutes with you because of overbooking habit, so how can he possibly appropriately treat his patients? Not only is he too prideful to admit that he might not know the answer, but he will also blame the cause of any symptoms on "stress." If you want to shell out the big bucks to have a doctor spend 3 seconds with you only to be diagnosed with an "idiopathic stress-related" disease, then Mark Lowitt is the perfect doctor for you!! Dont expect him to appropriately follow up with you either. He told me that the front desk followed up with me about a referral to another specialist. They never contacted me about this, so clearly there is a disconnect in communication in his office. Such a joke and waste of my time and money.

I have been seeing Dr. Lowitt since his GBMC office opened. Everyone in the office has always been professional, kind and accommodating. One of the best ways to know what a doctor is really like is to ask his staff how they like working for him. I will never forget the staff being so happy because Dr. Lowitt asked not only what they would like to wear in the new office, but then purchased the scrubs for them. In response to the previous reviewer who was unhappy with the wait time, I will agree that there is sometimes a long wait in his office. I think this is the nature of dermatology when you arent really sure what you will find until you sit in the chair. I appreciate that when Dr. Lowitt finds a suspicious growth, he removes it right away for biopsy. I would much rather sit in the lobby waiting a bit knowing that I wont have to come back for the biopsy--saves me a lot of time in the long run. I also find Dr. Lowitt to be very kind and caring. We always have a nice conversation about family while he is examining me. Knowing I have a doctor who cares, who is thorough and who keeps a happy office (they started playing Christmas music today because one of the staff loves it so much) is worth waiting a bit for.

When I came to Dr. Lowitt in June 2014 I was in really bad shape. I’d already been suffering with a very painful condition that severely impacted my quality of life. I’d been under the “care” of another doctor, who had not helped my condition but worsened it. I was desperate and my problem was anything but typical and not an “open and shut” case of anything. Through treatment, testing for various conditions and referring me to other high-quality specialists, my health has been restored. It was a long road, but I’m grateful to Dr. Lowitt for helping me through extremely tough circumstances. He is a gifted clinician that cares about patients, and underlying causes of problems rather than getting you in and out of his office. That’s not easy to find. Plus he’s a really nice guy and the office staff is nice as well. The office is busy, because people want to be seen by him, but that didn’t stop him from always responding by phone if I left a message.

I was referred to Dr. Lowitt by my massage therapist, herself a talented and tremendously caring person, so I knew that I would be in good hands. I have seen Dr. Lowitt several times for dysplastic moles and a recent case of squamous cell skin cancer. Getting a cancer diagnosis, even "just" skin cancer, is always a bit of a shock, and I felt reassured by his professionalism and straight-forward explanation of the diagnosis and required treatment. He is always cheerful, and I greatly appreciate the fact that he asks about my other medical conditions and other life happenings, which lets me know that I am not just a number for him. Also I have found his staff to be friendly and helpful, on one occasion squeezing my son in for an appointment while he was home over his Thanksgiving break from college. For people who complain about wait-times, my advice is to bring a book and get over yourself.

I have seen Dr. Lowitt for a number of years. He has always been extremely helpful, very open minded, and personable. I have nothing but great things to say about him and his practice. I have never had any issues with his staff, scheduling, or follow-up calls after a visit. Most importantly, he has prescibed medications that work for me. He has always listened to my concerns, and willing to try new medications if I ask. I am very relaxed when at his office, never feel anxious or nervous, as he makes you feel comfortable and as if you were long time friends. I would highly recommend Dr. Lowitt and his staff to anyone looking for a great dermatologist.

Mark Lowitt (MD) is by far the best dermatologist I have ever known. He is very through in his examination and he takes ample time to explain his diagnosis and answer any questions. He cured me of a medical condition that eluded several doctors. I have also been treated by his associate PA who is also very capable. His waiting room is comfortable and his staff is most courteous and professional.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lowitts for many years, my work keeps me outside most of the time so I am always concerned about the sun. Dr. Lowitt is very professional about his work and explains in detail his observations. I would highly recommend Dr. Lowitt, in fact I did to my father who sees him twice a year.

Dr. Lowitt has gone above and beyond to contact me outside of regular business hours and followed up in numerous other ways. He is knowledgeable, thorough and personable. His office staff is equally professional and efficient. He has more than earned the honor of being among, "Baltimores Best Doctors".
