We used South Bays office on Charles Street mostly. The staff at Charles Street have always been friendly, accommodating and very fast. Our pup has a slight heart murmur and the vets were GREAT about educating us about his condition and giving us direction if needed (vs. our last vet who told us our dog was going to die any day). Our dog is three now and in great health. When our dog, Grant was fixed, he stayed over night at the Tremont street location and since he was the only pup staying over night the staff took turns visiting throughout the night/early morning, even bringing in their dogs to keep ours company. Unfortunately we moved out of Boston and need to find a new and local vet. I hope this review helps any reader make a decision on veterinary services. I couldnt think of a better group of people to entrust with our dog.

We have been taking our dogs to the South Bay Veterinary Group for about seven years and generally happy with the service, but when one of dogs was injured recently and we called to see if he could be seen or at least get some advice I was appalled at the lack of concern and overall demeanor. We were told they could not see him until the following week and that was it. No guidance. No referral or recommendation. They did not listen to his injury. Just nope, no room and good luck. When I told her that our dogs had been patients for a long time and that I expected a bit more concern, she said she could ask the vet to call us back, but it would be hours and theyd say the same thing: no appointments and they dont offer advice over the phone. Needless to say, we will not be taking our dogs back. Very disappointed.

I recently brought my new adult cat to South Bay Veterinary Group. The veterinarian asked me to assist by holding the cat during her examination. My cat got angry or must have felt threatened and bit my hand between the pointer finger and thumb rather deeply. Despite this I was charged for the appointment ($160), and no one followed up to check about my wound. Im disappointed that I was asked to assist the veterinarian rather than staff members, and that if this company has so much compassion for animals, you would hope that they might extend that to the individuals bringing the animals in for care.

These bad reviews are nonsense. Every doctor that has ever cared for one of my Italian Greyhounds was absolutely everything but rude or careless. It is my own observation that the only rude and careless people are the demanding, righteous, and impatient humans that come to drop off or pick up their precious animals. I think its absurd that any of you are perfectly happy to patiently wait in line for an inflated cup of coffee, and then have an attitude with a receptionist at the vet because shes handed you a bill for your babys health care. Get over yourselves.

I have been taking my pets to this office since the 90s. They have dealt with puppy care, through end of life care and they have done it all with kindness and empathy. I currently have a dog who is getting older, has diabetes, is losing her eye sight and has Cushings Disease. Even though she is poked and prodded every time she goes here she still loves Dr. Bower and Emily, seriously she scratches on the door to get in. Thank you to all the doctors and support staff here for taking care of all of my animals over the years.

The South Bay Veterinary Group is a terrible clinic. Over the course of a year only, they charged us for several services that were not required. We finally decided to change Vet when our puppy got a nasty antibiotic-resistant infection after he has been fixed, that we had to treat with surgery and new antibiotics at Angel Hospital . On top of that, the people at South Bay Veterinary Group treats you like they are slammed with work and they have no time for you or your puppy. Avoid it at any cost.

Ive been bringing my two dogs to South Bay for almost 10 years now. Ive moved several times and I did try out other vets on two occasions and decided I would never bother with any other place again. No one compares to the quality of care and love that every single doctor and front desk staff at South Bay provides. We are happy to see anyone because my little guys are always treated with patience, care and love. No matter how far I live, Ill always make the commute!

I have been bringing my pets to South Bay (and Charles Street satellite) for over 25 years. The care has been excellent, the vets experienced and compassionate and the staff always helpful. In addition, they are very reasonable in their rates; treatment is always discussed before being administered and they dont push extra services. I recommend this group without reservation.

Both I and friends of mine have been taking our cats here for years and only have had great experiences. Great service, tons of compassion for the animals and compared to some other vets in Boston, they are very reasonable cost-wise. Would not even think of taking my cats anywhere but here (and their Beacon Hill satellite office).

I bring my sisters dog and cat here. Ive always been treated great and never get ignored. We are in and out, some of the staff were rude but the last time i was in everyone was new. The doctors are always quick and efficient they have some of the cheapest rates in town! Worth a week to get an appt if you ask me.

Probably a bit on the pricey side, but the vets are great and super friendly. Usually appointments run on time too. Parking cam be tricky, but thats the south end for you!
