Both my fiancé and I were using Hayden Optometric when we lived in Mansfield. He gave me glasses and my fiancé contact lenses, and my fiancé frequently had problems with his contacts. They didnt fit properly, gave him headaches, and were often out of focus. We went back for another exam a year later, to tell him about the issues he had been having, and before we went in I confirmed with the receptionist that there was not going to be a charge for the exam because I wasnt sure when we were eligible. It turned out that they charged us $75 for the exam, which I paid because I thought it was actually for my own exam as they were on the same day. Upon reviewing my invoice, I emailed Dr. Hayden to explain the situation and to request a refund, explaining that we would not have had the exam had we known we would be charged, since I specifically asked that prior to the exam being conducted. I received an email back (presumably not intended for me) which read simply, "They took the f***ing prescription. No refund." I was livid, so I emailed back and said if this was how he always talked to his patients, Id be happy to find a new doctor. He apologized profusely and blamed it on one of his former staff, who had just left on not-so-great terms, and said that she had access to his email and password and it must have been her. (Why he would not change his password after someone who had access to his account left on bad terms is beyond me, so I dont believe his response.) I got my $75 back, so I took no further action, but we ended up going to a different doctor since we frequently had issues with Dr. Haydens staff being quite rude, and we werent confident in the prescriptions he gave us. Both of us have since seen new doctors who told us that our prescriptions were all wrong, and we can see much better with the new ones. We will tell anyone who will listen to steer clear of Dr. Haydens office.

I have been a patient of Dr. Haydens for over a decade. I have found him to be exceptional. He has advised and supported me through advanced vision correction procedures which were highly successful! His dedication to being cutting edge in his profession by getting his nutritionist license and creating applications for both professionals and patients to use is highly impressive. Dr. Hayden shows a true enthusiasm for what he does. In addition he has a way of making patients feel very comfortable and well cared for. I would highly recommend him!!!

Dr. Haydens staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Insurance issues are quickly resolved. And the exam is the most accurate and fastest I have ever experienced, using the latest advanced equipment for the best results. My entire family goes to him. Even my youngest child actually looks forward to the no-pressure, relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend him.
