Ugh, what a lousy experience!!! Im a 27-year-old female. I dont have any major problems with my teeth in general...a cavity here or there, some very minor gum recession, but nothing crazy. I came to Nexxus for a cleaning, and then made an appointment for a few fillings upon discovering that I had several cavities. The cleaning: awful. Not only was the hygienist rough, she gave me incorrect information about everything from dental product ingredients to questions regarding basic care of my teeth. When I left the office, I noticed shed missed some superficial surface staining while polishing, in addition to some plaque still left by the gumline on multiple teeth. The subsequent visit for fillings: HORRENDOUS. I was having two teeth on the bottom filled; I have a very sensitive mouth, and always require extra Novocain when having fillings done. Often, if a procedure is taking place on the bottom jaw, more Novocain may be required, due to the way the mouth/nerves are structured (Google this for a technical explanation)...I normally require 2-3 shots of Novocain on the top, so I would expect the same (or more!) for the bottom. Okay, Im not trying to be a diva here, but Id had 6 or 7 fillings/two wisdom teeth pulled prior to this in the past, so I know the way my mouth responds to pain and Novocain. When I sat down for the fillings, it was a hygienist who administered the novocain shot, not a dentist (Ive NEVER experienced that before), and she was not very gentle about it. I told her that I ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTIONS ASKED require more than a single shot of Novocain, that Im incredibly sensitive and not the most responsive to the numbing agent, which is why I require multiple shots (a single shot barely makes me numb whatsoever). After telling her this, she told me not to worry. Since it takes a few minutes between shots for the numbing to take effect, when the hygienist walked away, I assumed she would be back to give me the subsequent doses. Several minutes passed, and I really wasnt numb at all...then the dentist walked in, instructing me to open my mouth. At first I was relieved that she was there, as I was under the impression that she would be administering the next few shots of Novocain (I really didnt feel comfortable with a hygienist doing it)...she told me to open my mouth, so I did...I didnt even see that she had a drill in her hand, and instead of giving me more Novocain, I both heard and felt the cold, violent pain of the drill on my still sensitive tooth. I jumped and yelled, explaining (shouting while crying, lol) to the dentist that Id only had one shot of Novocain and WAS NOT NUMB. She told me that it was their policy to administer one single shot to start, only giving more if the patient feels pain. I really couldnt register this...so the hygienist lied to me, and their policy is to put people through unnecessary pain? No one even asked me if I was numb prior to starting. Absolutely ridiculous. So she gives me three more shots, and once I was finally numb, went to work on the fillings. I didnt experience any additional pain, but once the numbing went down a few hours later, I noticed that the fillings were very sharp and I could feel them easily with both tongue and finger. Seriously?? I made a follow-up appointment to have the fillings polished down...they came out *better*, but I can still feel them. Going elsewhere to fix these fillings, NEVER going back to Nexxus again.

I came here about 6 mos ago. My first impression was great. Very clean office and up to date. The hygienist is super great but dr Maheen a whole different story. She seems very sweet but her main concern is money. She brought me in for a total of 7 or more fillings. As she worked on the left side of my mouth when she performed the last filling on that side I went home with severe pain I kept calling the office to let them know and finally went in so she can fix it. She worked on it again but nothing. I kept feeling pain on 2 fillings she did to my teeth. Finally she told me she doesnt know why Im in pain. She told me to book with another doctor she has on staff so he can take a closer look. He only comes in once or twice a week. The front desk calls me to tell me I cant schedule with that other doctor because hes away on vacation and wont return for another month. Here I am stuck with pain on the teeth she had worked on. Never cared to follow up with me or refer me to another doctor. Just left me like that. What Doctor does this? Since then I saw a couple of dentist and they both told me if the pain does t go away Ill have to get a root canal. The new dentists I saw also told me that the right side of my mouth did not need any fillings what so ever, and dr. Maheen had told me I needed 3!!!! So here I am thinking to myself did I even need fillings on the teeth she worked on? Or did she do it for the pay check? Ive had feelings before in my life time but never like this. Now heres the funny part! During my first visits to her office we had discussed teeth whitening. She gave me a kit to take home. I have a down payment for the kit and had arranged to give the rest at the end of my treatments and if I wasnt happy with the whitening then we would figure it out. Little did I know what lied ahead for me. Plus after all that pain I went threw for months and months on end I never even use it. Was afraid to put anything on my teeth so I wont make it worse! I get a letter in the mail today for a collections agency telling me I owe them $109 ! Is this a joke? After all you have done? Its not about the amount but the moral of the whole situation! I would steer clear from this place! Looks ARE deceiving! So many dentist out there do your research and go some where worth it!

Good for emergencies but nothing else! I went in there to get a tooth that chipped cuz unfortunately the one i mainly went to was booked and decided to try a dentist more close to my new house. I went into the office it was clean and nice. The sign is was a little over cautious because of the ridiculous amount of questions. But not just that! I have been to plenty different dentists in my life. Ive never been to one that you need to sign a waiver for something as simple as a filling! (guess they dont wanna get sued) Anyways after a short wait i was seen. They took full mouth Xrays (for one tooth that was chipped) then i was seen by the actual dentist. Now instead of seeing to the problem she said one of my teeth (that did not hurt) needed a root canal due to a puss pocket. And she said my chipped tooth was a simple fix. She was WAY to ROUGH with my teeth and she rolled her eyes when i wanted more Novacane. (Not kidding either) anyways after she fixed my tooth i was really concerned about my tooth and she looked at me like i head three heads and said simply "what? Its fixed" she said i should come back for a cleaning to make sure my tooth does not need a root canal To make a long story short.....STAY AWAY FROM HERE! They dont care about you just filling their pockets. Oh! And i followed up at my original dentist. It turned out my tooth that need a root canal was fine and there was no pocket. If i wanna go to a dentist more close to me. Ill go to Venus dental
