I went to the ER at Wing on May 31,2015 with a severe headache, fever, sore neck and sore back. I had all that for 3 days but when I got the fever I went to the ER. They took many tubes of blood and said theyd have results in 1 hour. So I had them turn the lights off because my head hurt so bad. Aches like Ive never had! Well, 20 minutes later the blood results were already back and I was fine, there was nothing wrong with me!! They sent me home. Two days later I went to see another Doctor, Dr. Kahn, yup, at this point my back hurt so bad at night, I couldnt sleep, i would break out in sweat so bad i had to change clothes. but I was fine. He said he shouldnt be seeing me because he wasnt my primary dr.so he moved my feet around and did other stupid things and told me I was fine. Well that following Friday I broke out with giant red blotches all over my body!! I could barely move, but I was fine. every joint hurt so bad, now i could barely move my fingers. So, now a get a new Doctor out of Wing and in Ludlow, Dr. Henderson. I went there on the 9th, they took 8 tubes of blood and told me the results would be back in 2 days, which makes more sense.Well results came in today,2 weeks after all this started. I have Lyme disease, you probably already guessed that. The pain is awful, but I have an answer!! Im on strong antibiotics for a while. I will NEVER get a doctor again at Baystate Wing. Just awful. Youd think they all would know the signs of Lyme disease after all theses years of being around!! IDIOTS!!...... Thank You!!

I was giving my cat a bath, well that was the plan, and she bit me. Hard. Not knowing how serious cat bites can be, I slapped a band aid on it went to work. 2 hours later Im at Mary lane and they gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way. 24 hours later its just getting worse so I went to wing because Ive always had better experiences then Mary lane and I had a feeling I was going to be admitted. Its Christmas eve mind you. Well Im not sure why the reviews for this hospital are so awful because there was not a single staff member here that I felt was incompetent to do their job in fact they were all exceptionally good. The nurses had the best bedside manner of any hospital Ive been to. The doctors were informative and listened. They helped me a lot with the pain, which was a complaint I saw a lot on here that I had no problems with. IV morphine and oxycodone as needed. Alyssa, Josephine, Debbie, José, Paulina and all the other nurses/aides were just so nice and caring my IV machine kept beeping and they came straight to my room every time to fix it. I started to even feel bad at how much they had to run to my room. Oh and I am diabetic and they did a great job stabilizing my sugars while fighting the infection. Thank u so much wing memorial ! I did not mind spending Christmas with u guys one bit.

Most of my experience has been as a regular patient not emergency room. The check in staff is fast and efficient. Most are very friendly and personable. Sometimes they are extremely busy and it seems they may be trying to be more efficient then personable. Understandable. Ive never experienced any rudeness although Ive seen many rude patients give them a hard time. Ive had 2 emergency room experiences. One with chest pain and one with a couple cracked ribs. The chest pain was dealt with very quickly and comfortably. I was admitted for an overnight stay for observation. Everyone from the emergency room to the hospital itself was caring and attentive. The cracked rib visit was on a very busy night in the ER. A bit like "Night at The Museum" Lots of weird admissions But mostly people in worse shape than I was in which explains my longer wait time to be seen and dealt with. But when I WAS seen it was professional and courteous treatment. I was xray-ed, diagnosed, treated, given a pain reliever, advice, a prescription and released. Over the years Ive had some minor inconveniences which are expected but overall very happy with the staff and care.

I will start off this TWO STAR review by saying I was treated very well by my doctor and have no complaints regarding the care I was given... WITH THAT BEING SAID, I was treated like absolute garbage to say the least by the woman at the check-in desk. It was my first time going to this hospital aside from my surgery and had no idea where I was supposed to go. She was VERY rude throughout the entire encounter and made me feel as if every question I had was a stupid one at that. To add to that, I witnessed her being very friendly with the two women before and after me as if she was a completely different person... Who knows why, maybe I was stereotyped, your guess is as good as mine. After checking in and sitting in the waiting area, your name will be faintly called out so you better bring some hearing aids or else even the people at the stations will be giving you lots of attitude if you dont hear them like me! Overall, I was disgusted with the way I was treated by the staff and how unorganized this whole establishment seems to be... but at least I can say my doctor was great!

This is Rob Roncaratis review Not sure what happened to this hospital. The old small town treatment went the way of some of the ERs staffs attitude. My father was taken by ambulance as he couldnt get out of bed for 2 days. He was in excruciating and debilitating pain and actually yelling in agony at times. The ER doctor gave him 2 percocets and told me he was to be discharged less than 2 hours off the ambulance. When I told the doctor it wasnt safe he admitted my father while having a little hissy fit. The nurse came to take blood from him and when he asked why the nurse replied "we need to find a reason to keep you". Apparently at Wing excruciating chronic pain and loss of the ability to walk doesnt qualify as a reason. I gave them 2 ICD-10 codes for their billing office to ease their minds. Lack of care and respect for patients is the theme now. Sad, Ive been in medicine for over 20 years and now the decline has reached my front door.

This used to be a great hospital, now it is absolutely horrible. The wait times are insane, and the Palmer doctors are very dismissive of any issues or concerns. Their pediatrics department is a joke, after losing Dr. Balista and Dr. Vagel a few years back it is horrifying. Once my wife had an appointment with her Dr., and it took her 45 minutes to even see her. By the time she got to us, it was 4:45 PM and she wouldnt let my wife get a word in at all. No matter how many times my wife relayed her concerns, she just wrote them off. We left the building disappointed, and on our way out saw her Dr. getting into her Mercedes and leaving the parking lot. Clearly she was rushing my wife so she could leave. Go to the Monson offices instead. The wait time may be long, but the doctors there are far better and more caring.
