PLEASE READ THIS IN FULL! My Dog loves this place! I love this place. I was asked to go to the Woburn ma Hospital from my last vet and they did not say why just that her blood was low and when I got to the Hospital bullying me to leave my dog with them for 5 nights and that maybe I would have to put her down like there was no light at the end of the tunnel! So I went to Best Pets for a second opinion through a Friend and Im Soooo happy I did. My Dog is doing great! They took the time to see what she needed and did not charge me thousands of dollars. They also did not bully me to do anything. They said there should be no reason not to take the dog home the Dog would do better at home around the people who love her. So thats why I love BEST PETS! Part 2. So Mitzi past on October 16th 2015. So I had to take her to the hospital in Woburn one weekend because this vet was close past hours about 3 weeks before we had to out her down I was told her liver was failing because of one of the meds she was on. They asked if she had been tested for that I said only one time out of maybe 4 or more time having blood work done. They thought we should put her down then well she was not in pain and we took her home and gave her everything she loves Pizza, steak and McDonalds! I would have thought I would have gotten a call from the vet the next morning. That was not the case I called about 10 or so and had to leave a message with someone because the doctor was busy. So I did. I also asked if they got paper work from the Hospital for Mitzi and they said yes we got some form of paper work. Not sure what that meant. So I left my message to call me back I did not get a call back until about 2:18 and I know this because I was on the phone with the hospital in Woburn when I was waiting for My daughter to get out of school to take her home. I called them so I could get the copy of the paperwork because my vet was not calling me back. So the Vet doctor left a message. It was yes I read the paper work. Not Im sorry and anything more that was it! So I did call again and she was busy again and I said oh no put her on the phone please I had waited too long to talk about this and that I feel like you all are very cold right now and I was told that the doctor is going through some stuff as well and I said ok but she needs to leave it at home and not bring it to work and that Im sorry that she is going through whatever she is going through and that is not why Im calling! So when it was time to put my baby Mitzi down I sent an email to the vet doctor asking if I could bring her in that day to take care of this its time. I received an email back that said Im not in the office today and that the other doctor that is there had a full plate oh and that I hope I was making the right decision! Oh and that she felt bad for us. So I called the vet and they said to bring her in. I did not want to bring her back to the Woburn Hospital they are too cold there. So I had Mitzi cremated because I didnt want to leave her there. So when I went to pick her up at the vet a week later they gave her to me and a rose from the doctor and the staff. Hum nothing from the doctor about it with in that week or even the next day no call nothing other then the rose! If I know the rose was from her I would have left it but I was crying so much when they put the box in front of me and I just left. Im not saying this is anyone fault at all. I just would have liked a bit more respect and sympathy would have been nice! If anything I should have know then a friend asked me to go there because I did not know she was getting a $25.00 Discount until after the fist full visit! I dont like to refer people just because of a Credit. I told my other friend that I was going to have go there not to go! So I leave this store for you to decide. I will tell you it is very hard to write this. I miss her every day she was my best friend and loved me no matter what! It also took me some time to think about all of it as well Im not mad or angry just sad. I hope this review will help!

We took one of our cats in for a same day appointment, due to some apparent neck wounds that seemed to be getting worse with each passing day. We expected to see Dr. Tapscott who has seen and taken care of our two male cats for several years since we brought them in as kittens. Dr. Tapscott has always been caring and professional and we have been extremely happy with the service she and her staff have provided. Today, we were met by Dr. Eric Franson, a new and excellent addition to the Best Pets Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Eric was knowledgeable, kind, and caring as he explained what he felt was going on with our cat. He was personable and spent a good amount of time with us, explaining everything from why our cat was excessively scratching and wounding himself to diet and exercise recommendations. My wife, son, and I left the clinic feeling very satisfied and happy with the care Dr. Eric provided and look forward to seeing him and/or Dr. Tapscott on future visits. We give this veterinary hospital five stars for excellent and compassionate customer service and urge others to use this clinic for all of their veterinary needs. Always great service!!!!

Horrendous experience.They have several part time staffers that are apparently misinformed on Dr Tapscotts policies. I was told the first visit was free--Shawsheen Animal Hospital offers the same promotion--and then was charged for the visit. Dr. Tapscott argued I was never told that and still charged me and when I looked at my records folder she provided it was right there in their notes that the visit was promised as free for a 1st time visit. She prescribed drugs at an enormous markup that did not even address the problem that was later fixed by a more competent vet. Warning! Dr. Tapscott will prescribe shampoos and extras for an enormous charge and will make you feel guilty if you refuse them.9 months ago she said my pet had 2 months to live. Thank goodness I changed vets and my pet is still with me.Theres a reason she keeps moving around. Run, dont walk in the opposite direction from her and you are sure to find a more competent vet.

I was stuck on July 2nd with my cat who had a kitten stuck in utero that had died. After being quoted a scandalous amount for an emergency c-section I could never afford here locally, I took to my computer to find help. I must have sent 20 plus emails. Dr. Tapscott not only took time to message me on a holiday weekend but while also on her vacation. She was the only response I had received. She listened and did everything she could to help me to save my cat. I have never had a vet who was personally into a practice like this. She has a heart and genuinely cares, it is hard to find good, honest people who still exist in the world. From walking in to her kind front desk associate, to her husband who was helpful as well. Coming from Derry, NH - I will continue the drive and bring my other animals here. Thank you Dr. Tapscott and staff, you are all incredible and amazing.
