Rude staff and bait-and-switch costs. I came in from New Jersey and was referred to this vet. Upon scheduling the appointment, I mentioned to the receptionist that my puppy only needed one shot and glands expressed - nothing else. The receptionist agreed and gave me a reasonable quote. During the visit, I had the pleasure of "dealing" with Jan. Jan is an extremely rude person with a bossy personality. Despite the fact my dog had already been through a full examination three week prior in Jersey, she wanted another one done. I said NO (again, only here for a shot and gland expressing) and we argued to the point where a doctor had to intervene. The doctor questioned my response, and while discussing it further, he decided to slyly "examine" my dog. Yep, charged an exam fee. After my dog got the shot and glands expressed, I was given a bill that was almost double (excluding the exam fee). I questioned the receptionist about the charges and it seemed like she had her head in the sand - no straight forward response. I then called again hoping to speak to someone else, and yep, I got to speak to good old Jan again. More arguing and more BS to the point where I hung up. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else even if its far away from this place.

I am an owner of three cats, all of different temperament and personality, who found our visits to the Brighton Animal Hospital as a positive and professional experience. The staff, from the front desk, to the vet technicians, to even the vets themselves have been phenomenal in comparison to the vet offices Ive visited in Ann Arbor or elsewhere in the area. From the moment of walking in I was greeted and spoken to as a caring pet owner - not a number to jot down and set to the side. The technicians were engaging and gentle with my pets - making sure I understood every step they took during the examination and what to expect next. The vets have always been thorough in their examination and clear in their explanation of their process and diagnosis. Usually taking my animals (or my extended families pets) to the vet is a stressful experience. Brighton Animal Hospital does an exemplary job of ensuring that their clientele and their owners are treated with the utmost respect and professional care they can provide. I live in Ann Arbor and will continue to take my pets (and refer others) to Brighton Animal Hospital - they are the best Ive experienced in the Livingston-Washtenaw County.

Ive been bringing my 3 dogs and cat here for the past few years. Ive been to other vets in the area but Brighton Animal Hospital has always been the best for the simple reason that they care and it shows. They actually spend time with me and my pets; the doctors Ive seen dont just come in, give the shots and leave. I feel like they take the time to ask and answer questions. The extra few minutes spent with my animals has sold me on this place over others. The girls that work there are always loving on my dogs and while I know it is part of their job, I have been to places that seem like my sick dog is more of a bother than anything else. I have never felt that way when Ive gone here. The concern is always for my dogs and making them feel better. Ive always had good experiences with Brighton Animal Hospital and Ive been going there for 3 years now. Everyone has been nothing but nice and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet in the area.

Was charged double for our dogs nail trim due to the fact that our dog "thrashed, and growled" We wouldnt have had a problem with paying it, IF it would have been disclosed beforehand! Then a staff member argued with us because she didnt believe what type of breed our dog was? Very professional!!!!! "Dont worry", she tells us, "I wont report you !" Referring to our landlords for having what appears to be a dog with some Pit in her. I will never go back to this place, and DO NOT recommend it! If you go, make sure you know what you will be paying for before hand! On another note....our dog has NEVER growled at anyone, and this is not the first time we had her nails trimmed. I dont think the problem was our dog, but the rude nasty lady that works there.

I have been taking my pet animals to Brighton Animal Hospital for 10+ years and I highly recommend the Veterinarian Doctors and the Staff. Theyre very professional along with having genuine concern and affection for the animals they take care of. My Golden Retriever, Kip has absolutely no reservation in going to see them even though shes had a few minor operations there. Weve had to have few of our pets put down there, for various health reasons and they were courteous and conscientious during a difficult time for us. They are a great group of people who obviously love their work. I have had no problems, whatsoever with Brighton Animal Hospital and I would highly recommend them.

HELLO- I HAVE BEEN GOING TO BRIGHTON ANIMAL HOSPITAL FOR 25 YEARS NOW SO I GUESS YOU COULD SAY MY MANY ANIMALS AND MYSELF HAVE GROWN OLD WITH OUR SPECIAL FAMILY AT THE CLINIC. I HAVE SO MUCH RESPECT AND CONFIDENCE IN THE STAFF, ASSISTANTS AND DOCTORS THAT WORK THERE. THE STAFF IS ALWAYS WELCOMING AND AVAILABLE TO HELP ME WITH ANYTHING THEY CAN, THE ASSISTANTS ARE KNOWLEDGABLE AND COMPASSIONATE AND AIWAYS HELPFULL. THE DOCTORS ARE ALL OF THE ABOVE - AND- # I IN THEIR FIELD. I AM ESPECIALLY FOND OF DR. CHRISTINE LEE WHO HAS BEEN MY VET ALL THESE YEARS, AND A FRIEND, WHO CARES FOR MY PETS, BECAUSE SHE CARES. SINCERELY, BARB HILDEBRANT

DO NOT GO HERE, they dont care about your pet or you. I called with some questions about heart worm meds for my dog and asked to speak to a Doctor, well two days later a Dr Balavich (sp?) called only to tell me she would forward my dogs records elsewhere as her receptionist says I "badgered her" Im sorry when did asking questions and looking for answers become "badgering?" What ever happened to "the patient is always right?" or better yet "service?" You wont find any of that here nor COMPASSION, my dog is left without any emergency vet or any proper heart worm medication.....HOW IS THAT TAKING CARE OF AN ANIMAL? STAY AWAY THEY CLEARLY DONT CARE AND ONLY WANT TO MAKE A BUCK!

Ive been having Brighton Animal Hospital care for my pets for the last 18 years. Over that time they have helped us welcome new pets into our home, give medical treatment to our foster dogs, and to say that hard good bye when its time, in the most gentle of ways. The doctors and staff are friendly and caring and most have been there as long as I have been a client. Dr. Lawrence even removed a fibrosarcoma cancerous lesion completely from my 9 year old cat who didnt required chemo or radiation after. Its been 4 years and hes wonderfully healthy at 13. I wouldnt consider going anywhere else.

I love the staff here and they have always provided excellent care, but their prices have skyrocketed over the last ten years, I cant afford to take my pets there anymore. Extremely compassionate care, but I can get at least decent and competent care elsewhere, and still be able to afford to pay my bills. The last time I took my dog in, she had been ill for a week or so, they never did diagnose anything other than "gastroenteritis", which just means she had an upset stomach. I already knew that, but ended up paying them a thousand dollars for basically nothing.
