I have been taking my fur baby to the Clinic for a few years. He was very fearful of any vet office and had a fear of getting his nails trimmed. I gave the clinic his medical history stating he needed to be given acepromazine to calm him down prior to any appointments including nail trims. However, after the last nail trim by Dr. Sandy left him in the lobby totally standing in a pool of blood, I decided to learn how to trim his nails on my own. I purchased the acepromazine for that awful appointment at the clinic for this nail trim. Three tablets were so expensive. Almost as much as purchasing them through a mail order .... buying 30 instead of 3! Moving on, his last full checkup , Dr. Sandy wanted him totally out!! He was injected with a tranquilizer in the back seat if my car! It was the worst experience ever!! My poor baby wasnt breathing and I couldnt feel his heart beating!! They were very uncaring and simply stated .. That happens. It slows their heart down.....What?!!!! Please do something I said completely panicked!! Well just give him a few more minutes before you bring him in! ........Seriously!!! I try to order the acepromazine from the online vendor they recommend. Dr. Sandy will only allow for 10 pills and wont allow anymore until he comes in for a full exam. So I try to get the 10 pills from the online site and for some reason they were removed from my cart?!!! Now I only want him to be put under once a year after the last experience. I would have to go in this week because she wouldnt even prescribe heart guard for 6 months and acepromazine more than 10 pills for a few more months. I was trying to order the same thing I was buying at the clinic but at a huge savings from the site they promote!! My baby needs to have his rabies vaccine in July. Four months from now and Dr. Sandy wouldnt allow the purchase!!! The clinic said its a law!!! They cant prescribe anything unless the he has had a full examination. Well this poses a problem...first, I have to cut his nails every 3 weeks and I have to give lightly sedate him even before he gets put under to even bring him in!! Whatever...... Stay away from this place!!! Bad..horrible..uncaring!!!

While watching a 13 yr old Chocolate Lab for a friend on vacation it threw up in the night, seemed down & didnt want to eat the next day. Calling this clinic SAVED THE DOGS LIFE! The entire staff was kind, caring, professional & very competent. * Dr. Smith got on the phone herself and convinced me that the dog needed to come in & be seen, that it might be a serious problem. * Once there, they found Bailey had a fever & quickly started an IV. * X-rays showed possible pneumonia & his temperature kept going up. * Antibiotics were started & he was packed in ice to bring the fever down while waiting for test results. * The doctor or a technician sat on the the floor with Bailey the whole time to help comfort him (and ME!) * He was diagnosed with Pancreatitus and Pneumonia needing intensive 24 hour care to have a chance to survive. * The staff contacted Baileys owner for me, explained the seriousness of the situation and made arrangements with Animal Emergency Hospital so that they were waiting for Bailey when we arrived. * After 2 more days in the hospital Bailey was sent home a happy and healthy old boy! Fast and accurate diagnosis and treatment saved Baileys life. This was not my dog & I was in a panic. The wonderful staff at Animal Health Clinic took care of all the details for treatment, permissions and billing with the owners in another state! I highly recommend this business to anyone with a pet!

Our experience was so terrible I feel one star is too kind! The vet Dr Smith didnt listen to our concerns about our cat, spoke for several minutes about the mysteries of terminology origins (completely unnecessary as she had already explained the use of term and its application to our cats condition), and continued talking louder rather than giving us a moment when our child threw up. She also tried to justify the fact that she had talked over us and continued talking at an escalated volume by saying she had given us a towel when we called her out on being impatient. She was dismissive of anything we had to say pushy, rude and condescending. All of this cost $49. We had taken our dog here several months ago and had a different vet and different experience where even though the bill was fairly high we were not pushed to pay for expensive treatments and the vet even called us later with more information she looked up about a weird eye condition our dog has. Unfortunately our experience today was so bad we will never return to this vet office. I can only hope that the nice vet (whose name I cannot remember) is able to start her own practice or get a job elsewhere.

This is by far the best place I have ever ever taken my fur babies too, The first time I met Dr Sandy I couldnt beleive the care time and knowledge she has to take care of absolutely any thing they need or that I have questions and concerns about, Dr Sandy and her brilliant team make my fur babies feel at ease on every visit , I have now been taking by fur babies there for nearly 5 years I have 3 dogs and two cats cared for by them at all times. Just recently I had to kennel my dogs in a near by place for the first time , my buddy boy was a little more than upset and Dr Sandy was there with Composure to calm him down. If you want a vet with animal passion , knowledge and simply a progressive office for animals and continued search for all things brilliant to enhance you precious pets lives. The Animal Health Clinic in Fenton is where you should have them taken care of. I love them. My beloved pets love them and so will you. Peace of mind. Priceless !!!

I was alarmed to see an earlier review that was extremely negative because Animal Health Clinic is a one of the nicest animal clinics I have ever been to. Doctor Sandy and her wonderful staff all have extensive knowledge, and they always exhibit a passion for treating my pets. Other vets I have been to cut corners so that my bill is the lowest possible, but at what cost to my pets health? AHC lays out options for treatment and allows you to pick and choose your course of treatment (and you are more than welcome to choose the cheapest path). I also love the Ladies Nights that the clinic throws because I get to have fun but also bond with the people treating my pets. This has led to a great level of trust between the staff and me. Overall, every experience (both on the phone and in person) has been top of the line. I highly recommend AHC to anyone who wants superior animal healthcare. Friendly staff, clean facilities, and happy kittens are more than enough for me.

My dog got attacked by another dog, bit right in the face under her eye. Shes 14 years old and Ive never had an experience like that. She was acting ok i was not because her face was cut open. The front Desk lady saw me and my dog and asked to you have an appointment? Yeah I made an appointment a week ago about my dog getting attacked. I didnt say that but was mortified. The vet was good, told me I did the right thing by coming in immediately. But even though it wasnt busy my poor dog and I had to wait 2 hours back in the room. She was in so much pain rubbing her bloody face against the walls. I was on my knees crying thinking she was dying I needed reassurance. They did do a good job with the surgeory 15 stitches. Inside and out. And my dog healed quickly and has just a little scar. Im grateful for the help but the front Desk secretary older woman needs a little lesson on how to greet and help dog owners feel reassured and that they came to the right place.
