-Terrible at answering questions in detail -Aloof demeanor -Rushes, I mean BLITZES, procedures to the point that you wonder if she is making mistakes (got to turn those patients over and maximize profit) -Passive aggressive -performed a procedure that I did not give her permission for and was not warned she was going to perform -Did not know what I was being charged till the end, and they expect you to pay right then. Its like a grocery store with no price tags. SURPRISE -Opinionated -Much of the staff tends to imitate these traits and everything is always your fault The primary problem with the office is Rafiqs arrogant, passive-aggressive attitude. She doesnt handle questions well. Very basic questions are fine, but if you need further clarification she gets defensive - as in, "how dare you not accept my word for it." Questions are seen as an attack on her authority, and, instead of patiently explaining until you feel at ease and confident that things are being handled the correct way, she gets increasingly frustrated with your insolence. When I asked her why healthy enamel had to be ground away for a filling, she failed to explain it in simple, laymans terms. When I asked for clarification, because I didnt want healthy tooth being wasted, instead of explaining differently she scoffed, and said, "If you want to know why, go to dental school." Are you kidding me? You dont need to go to school to understand a simple filling, you just need someone who is capable and willing to describe it. It took me 5 minutes, when I got home, to get the answer on the internet, but by then it was too late. I tend to ask a lot of questions because Ive had a lot of experiences with doctors making MAJOR mistakes, and they arent the ones who have to pay the price. Low and behold, I was justified in being cautious because she drilled big holes in both my front teeth without my permission (which I of course had to pay for anyway). Both of which are illegal. You cant do work on someone without their specific permission. And you are required to tell them the cost of the procedure before hand. So I left the dentist with work done that I DID NOT WANT DONE. These are the situations that make me distrust doctors and ask a lot of questions. So when I encounter a doctor who is not willing to or skilled at answering questions, I conclude that they are NOT TRUSTWORTHY. If you consider health YOUR RESPONSIBILITY and see doctors as expert advisers who are being paid A LOT to empower you to make the best possible choice about your own body, then you WILL NOT LIKE Rafiq. If you are the mindless type and trust your well-being to a doctor you barely know and blindly follow everything they say, you will be content wherever you go - until something goes wrong. Let me reemphasize why this is so important. I once had a doctor look me in the eye and tell me that I needed to have laser surgery to cut the sacks around my muscles open, which is a serious procedure. I did some research on my own, did some weight training, and made some minor adjustments to my diet and within months fixed the problem my self WITHOUT SURGERY. There have been many books written lately on the corruption, arrogance, and poor communication doctors have with their patients. If you want a doctor who is going to give you the best possible care, get one who doesnt shy away from helping you understand every aspect of the procedure and who doesnt rush to finish your appointment so she can move on to the next one and maximize her profits.

Had a very good experience here. First had a cleaning that was on time (no extra wait time). The cleaning went well and they found some cavities (not good for me but no impact on the dentist office :)). Then after the cleaning the dentist came in to review the cleaners findings for the cavities and found an additional one. Then I set up an appointment for about a week later to get all the cavities taken care of. On the day of the appointment they called me and said they were running ahead of schedule and let me come in earlier. So not only no wait, I got in earlier and out earlier. During the filling of my cavities I had novocaine but it seemed like a nerve was still hit (could/probably was just me being nervous) but even so they still gave me some extra novocaine just in case. Overall the filling of 5 cavities was painless and they made sure my bite was not effected by the cavity fillings (for the larger one). I would definitely recommend them. My kids go there as well and they are very kid friendly. My son was on the no cavity list and he was put into a drawing and won a $50 gift card to Toys R Us.

I am glad I seen the story on All Brite Dental in the New Herald. I was looking for a dentist I could trust so I made the appointment with Dr. Rafiq. She is so sweet. I felt so comfortable right away. Everyone there treats you like family. I had no pain at all. Dr. Rafiq is so good that I did not even feel the needle when she numbed my gums. I liked that they do follow up calls to make sure you are doing OK. Also if you call after office hours they do answer the phone and are of great help then too. Everyone is so sweet there. I have never had to wait much at all when I came in for my appointments. No one really enjoys having their teeth cleaned but Shannons sweet personalty really helps and before you know it you are all set to go. I like the dental Massage chairs. The girls at the front desk are very sweet as well and helpful. I do recomand Dr. Rafiq. She is the best!!!! I rate them a 10 star.

Ive been going to the All Brite Dental office on Allen Road in Woodhaven for around 4 months. In that time I had an exam, full mouth xrays, filling repairs, cleaning and teeth whitening. Ill have another cleaning in a couple weeks. Everyone there has been professional, friendly, caring, and easy to communicate with. They send email reminders for appts. and call if able to fit me in earlier than my scheduled appt. All of the procedures were pain free. Dr Rafiq is very caring and respectful of her patients. She knew about a condition I have, and why I need medication when having dental procedures. No one at the office give me flack, tried to talk me out of using antibiotics or made negative comments about people using the internet to self-diagnose (which was why I left the last dental practice I was going to). I appreciate all of the support and decency they have showed me.

If just hearing the word "dentist" is enough to strike fear in your heart, you should check out All Brite Dental. Everyone there is so friendly and comforting, they will completely change the way you feel about going to the dentist. They do a great job too. Ive had cleaning, fillings, and teeth whitening done here and every time was a good experience. Dr. Rafiq and her staff are really great at what they do, and they definitely motivated me to start taking better care of my teeth... and they didnt have to bite my head off/make me feel guilty to do it. Definitely give them a try, you wont be disappointed!
