My Daughter was seen in this ER on Feb 11, 2017 by a Dr.Marc Jones for signs and symptoms of a DVT, that she previously had the year before. She did not have insurance. We told him she was having the same syptoms as before, he looked at her keg, which was swollen, red and warm to the touch. She was given a fast ultrasound, and no labs were done. He diagnosed her with Cellulitis. Fast forward to March 20, 2017 we go to a different ER, same syptoms. They actually took blood because if her history and did a very thorough ultrasound only to find out she did have a DVT. So my daughter was walking around like a time ticking bomb!! All due to not having insurance. They did NOT value her life. I called and spoke with Patient Advocate Jeff on March 20, 2017 he was supposed to forward my message to him.72 hours later, no call back. So I called the Advocate again. He stated the manager was "off on March 21st, and he would contact him again. It is now March 29, 2017, no return call. I called today and left messages for both the Advocate and the ER manager. That Dr was negligent! They Advocate asked me " what I hope to get out if this" can you believe that? Im contacting a lawyer, and Im may do more to bring awareness that ALL lives matter, regardless of if they have insurance to Mcclaren PH!! At the very least he should have did blood work, checked her PT/INR due to having a DVT a year ago. Oh and did I mention, my daughter is only 25 years old! This hospital, and that Dr needs to be held accountable!!! My daughter could have died!! This is the absolute WORST hospital!! And Im truly disappointed not only in them, but this system!!

McLaren NEEDS desperately to work on their triage system. I went in on December 8th (2016) having an obvious miscarriage, and they allowed several people who werent in serious condition (like the lady who just had the sniffles) to go ahead of me, put me in a wheelchair while I sat and bled and sobbed, and told me it might be a couple hours before I would be seen. My husband was LIVID and immediately took me to the hospital formerly known as Mercy in Port Huron and all I had to do there was give them my info., tell them the issue, get a bracelet, and I was brought RIGHT back to a room where I was tended to immediately. Obviously nothing can really stop a miscarriage from happening, but the experience I had at McLaren was utterly ridiculous. A long while before that incident, I had a stay at McLaren with polynephritis of the kidneys--I was there for FIVE DAYS and nobody came to offer me meals. Ever. Like they just.... forgot. And I was too goofy on Dilaudid (sp?) which made me sick/vomit and dizzy/disoriented, yet they wouldnt switch me to a different pain medication despite this. A nurse came in ONE TIME to help me shower, so the whole time I was there I was seriously ill, not given meals, not tended to, and had only one shower (I felt filthy and gross). I will never.... absolutely NEVER...... go back to McLaren. If you or a loved one needs serious care, go to Mercy (apologies as I forget what the new name of it is now since it changed ownership). Rant over.

5 fl east night shift is the worst!!! If you end up on the bathroom floor and you are on 1 to 10 pound weight limit, they will leave you there until you pull yourself up. They treat you like you are bothering them. It takes 3 aides and over three hours and your temperature to start to climb before they will let the nurse know that you just asked for your meds, even though you have been asking about your meds for over 3 hours. I think its their job (for being lazy) to make your medical condition worse. Suppose to be there for a one night stay, but because of the night shift crappy job another day was added. Day shift will work to reverse the damage from the night shift aides. Night shift aides will retaliate. Dont need these games from incompetent night shift aides who acts like they dont what to be there to work or that its a bother to work on you. So told them to discharge me where I could have better care at home. Did a crappy job on that too. Gave me the follow up information no prescription and made me walk out around 9:45 even though I was tag FALL RISK on my wrist. IF YOU NEED AN IMPORTANT SURGERY GO TO DETROIT OR ANN ARBOR.

Well let me begin by saying they are not too fond of Veterans coming to their hospital and having to bill the VA. So we went out and applied to the state for medicaid. So what do they do . They just barely get your medical condition under control, not figuring out what caused the problem and then send you home. My husband has an exceptionally bad heart. His blood was getting too thick and causing him to have heard problems. So what do they do. They give him Hepran , get his blood thinned out to the levels and send him home. Who does that. There isnt any testing to see if hes got a blockage or if he needs a stent. Why did his blood start to thicken up. What was the cause? Theyre not even going to do any checking. And Ill tell you why. Because hes on Medicaid. Thats why. I am going to call my Senator and find out why they are allowing this kind of treatment for an American Disabled Veteran Of the United States of America.

I went to the ER in SEVERE PAIN caused by a 9mm kidney stone. I went to check in and they said sorry we are busy you will have to wait. The pain was so bad I almost passed out and I told them that but I didnt make a difference. I waited about 20 minutes just to get to triage where they determine who goes first to see the doctor, being a nurse I know that PAIN had priority, I told them I was in SEVERE PAIN and needed to see a doctor, again I was told that I had to wait she says everyone needs to see a doctor, she was very rude. I was very upset and left and went to LAKE HURON MEDICAL CENTER. There waiting room was full but they took me right back and I saw a doctor within 10 minutes. The nurses and staff were very quick to treat me and Dr. Murphy was a excellent doctor. Needless to say I will NEVER come back to McLaren again !! I recommend LAKE HURON MEDICAL CENTER in an emergency situation.

This hospital is under qualified to take care of critically ill patients. My dad had a devastating post op stroke which took them DAYS to DX... Due to the lack of attention & care in the ICU the stroke progressed/evolved for days. The RN who was assigned to my dad the night of his stroke was also charge nurse of ICU (so she was in charge of the whole ICU) she was unable to give my dad the attention he needed. My dad complained of a bad headache after surgery and that was not taken seriously. SHAME ON YOU ALL!!!My dad was unresponsive for over a month & we had nurses and drs telling us well it could be: pump head, stroke, just anesthesia, etc.... No One there knew what was going on OR just didnt wanna say. In my opinion, ICUs negligence took our dad from us. He had his stroke in Jan (2 days post op) and died in July. There is a BIG HOLE in our family now. No one was sympathic or apologetic.
