Im not one to write reviews but I had to in this case because the service was horrifying. Honestly if I didnt go to another hospital I very well could have lost my kidney. I went in to the ER because I had a pain in my right side and it was unbearable to the point that I was crying and I have a high pain tolerance. So I went in they were very nice to me and pretty quick to respond. I told them what was going on and the fact that this had happened 4-5 years ago and they thought it might have been a cyst on my ovary. So all they did was try and give me a pill for the pain (which I immediately threw up) then they gave me a shot of morphine with hurt much more than it should have and I had a giant bruise at the injection site for weeks. I was starting to feel better, maybe because I wasnt moving and just laying there. They came in and told me Oh well its not an ovarian cyst so you can go now. So my boyfriend and I left and then after picking up a prescription about 10-15 mins later I started vomiting continuously. So I called the ER again and they were very rude and said well you need to make an appointment with your regular doctor (which if I did it would be at least 6 months to get in) or they said I could come back in. So I figured I would try to wait it out. I still kept vomiting I couldnt even keep liquids down I was dry heaving and couldnt keep the medicine down. They never ran blood tests or scanned any part of my body or anything like that. So then I called my mother and we went up to the ER all the way up in Jefferson City (Where my parents live close to). They ran blood tests and everything and found out my kidney had blockage in it and I had to have surgery or I would have lost my kidney. If you have a serious problem and need to go to the ER I highly recommend that you go somewhere else because they arent going to do anything but tell you what you already know and give you drugs.

I fell July 24th 2016 and broke both of my wrists and injured several of my body organs. My grand son drove me to the ER. Im here to tell you Im very lucky to be alive. Dr. Menges and staff temporarily splinted my wrists because there was no surgeon available. Now mind you with all these injurerys and a oxygen level of 77 % sent me home for 4 days w/ out oxygen. When I returned I was in such bad shape I spent several days in ICU. They couldnt fix my wrists until Aug. 1st. The last two an a half days out of ICU the nursing staff left me in a chair freezing for two hours, with noway to call for help. They basically put me in a room and did as little as possible to get by. Mind you I have two broken wrists and staff would walk by knowing I couldnt even feed myself. The night before I was released a nurse came in to take blood pressure and I begged her to use a different kind because the one she uses hurt so bad. She went off on me and said "Do you know why your here, your only here for us to watch you" I was floored!! When I tried to explain how my Ins. was paying her pay check she said to me "What am I suppose to do, I have 15 people to care for" Can you believe how badly I wanted to get up from that bed. There is so much more that happened in that hospital at night and things Im still having to deal with from being in that Honorable Hospital. Im looking for phone numbers or anyone out there who can help me file a complaint!

2 days ago my husband , who has a heart condition, complained of chest pain. We went first to the local hospital. They were not equipped to deal with his complaint and asked us to go to Mercy Hospital in Washington . Since it was clear that he didnt have a heart attack, we went in our own car. Within minutes of arriving , he was in the ER, blood was being drawn , an EKG was being done and his problem was addressed quickly and professionally . He was then admitted to the 5th floor. We got there around 5 a.m., by 10 a.m. he was in the Cath lab for a heart cath. The cardiologist found the problem , fixed it and we went home that same afternoon. While we were there every procedure was explained and follow up care was established . The speed and professionalism made staying there a very pleasant experience .

A big THANK YOU! to the nurses on the Labor and Delivery floor of Mercy Hospital Washington, and also to Dr. Elizabeth Hammer. Our little girl was born there just a few days ago, and they made our experience just wonderful. My husband and I are adoptive parents, and we felt nothing but their full support for our familys unique needs. They included us in the process and made us feel welcome. Dr. Hammer of course took our daughters medical needs as her primary concern, and was approachable and kind in the process. She was flexible within typical hospital and newborn-baby protocol to make things as easy and comfortable for our family as possible; first during our hospital stay, but then again for our follow-up visits and transition home to our regular primary care provider. These providers are absolutely wonderful. Thank you again!
