Ali Reisig
My name is Ali Reisig and I worked for Dr. Lund from Dec 2012 to April 2014. While working there, I was so inspired by his state of the art office, love of dentistry, and his general need to improve the dental health of each patient, that I decided to attend dental hygiene school in hopes that one day I could come back to work for such an amazing doctor. In response to the negative comments, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for any misunderstandings there may have been on my end. Our office does its best to get ahold of each and every insurance company that patients bring to us, but unfortunately, in most cases, there are unique circumstances for each employee or family member for each personal policy. There are also unforeseen loopholes that insurance companies cannot disclose to the office without a proper pre-authorization (which can take up to a month to get back), or an actual bill from the office. We have caught a few of these rules, and do our best to explain to the patient why some services might not be covered as well as they think. Unfortunately, sometimes a miscommunication about finances of the patients can also be a factor when dealing with high numbers of patients. I highly recommend that patients read their bills when we send them each month to keep track of how much money they are personally responsible for before continuing to get procedures done. It is also helpful to read the explanation of benefits that insurance companies send each patient to explain what services were covered and why. On another note, I would like to praise Dr. Lund for his exceptional dental work. While attending my hygiene school, I was asked to be used as an example because my fillings were the best that they had seen. Because he took the time to match the shade and shape of my teeth, they are nearly impossible to detect! When I was a patient at this office, I was very impressed with the professionalism of everyone in the office. I would describe my experience as painless, fast, and apparently, because of recognition from all of the dentists at my school, successful! I want to thank all of the people who have kept in touch with me over the past few months. We really are all just one big family here! I hope to see you all again very soon.

I hesitantly visited this dentist to get a cleaning and exam a few months ago. The exam went well, and the dentist said that I had my first cavity (at the age of 24). I also needed to get my bottom wisdom teeth out so we scheduled the wisdom teeth extraction and cavity filling in the same day. The receptionist told me that I would be able to work the day following surgery, and that I might be a little sore. From the second I sat in the chair for surgery it was a total nightmare. I warned the dentist about my nerve condition and my lack of sensitivity to anesthetics, but obviously that was a waste of time. I woke up during the surgery, which is anyones nightmare. Following the surgery, I experienced an amount of pain that I can not even articulate it was so severe. My mouth was so swollen that I felt if it got any bigger it would impede my vision. I was out of work for over a week, and after the third day I could no longer take the pain. At this point I havent eaten anything solid in days, Ive followed the directions perfectly, and Im baffled at the recovery (or lack thereof) that is not what I was told. So I go into the dentist, with tears in my eyes when the receptionist said she would call the dentist back from lunch. 90 minutes later, the dentist put a cotton swab with some HORRENDOUS tasting solution on my surgical site and apologized for not telling me to take the right dosage and frequency of medication following the surgery because "he had to leave early". Like that was some consolation. So two miserable weeks later, I am rinsing with salt water and avoiding straws and what not...when I am sitting at work, at a desk, and my mouth begins to fill with blood. It clotted on its own eventually, but I was really concerned. I waited until a decent hour to call Dr. Lund on his personal and emergency phone, and I left a message. he never called back. Now I really fear that my teeth will be messed up forever because I cant drink any cold liquids and all of my molars on the bottom are causing me pain nonstop. The surgery was weeks ago.

WOW I guess we should have gotten a second opinion but we were taken to the cleaners as well. My husband and I went to get our teeth cleaned we each had a few cavities that needed to be filled. When walking out the front desk girl said she had already talked with our insurance company and verified our coverage. She told me that it would be no more than 200 for my work and 200 for my husband. We were looking at 400 total so we decided to get the work done. I paid a little more than the 200 after I had my work done. When my husband went in they told him I still owed 300 for my work so he paid that. So we had paid 500 just for my work at that time. Then they told my husband that his work ended up costing 800. In the end we paid out of pocket around 700 and still have a bill for another 800 when we were told that our work together would be NO MORE than 400. I called in to talk to the staff and she was extremely RUDE about the situation and threatening that if we didnt pay it would go to collections. We would have NEVER had all that work done knowing that it would cost that much. The real kicker is that the bill was so high because our insurance does not cover the white fillings. Isnt this something that should have been VARIFIED with the insurance in the first place. Im so frustrated and will NEVER go back to this dentist!!! We still have an 800 bill and my one tooth still gives me trouble.

I began going to River Rock Dental because I moved into the neighborhood and it was convenient. I stayed with RRD because I love Dr. Lund and his staff! Going to the dentist is never enjoyable, but the delicacy youll find here is unsurpassed. I never thought Id have my wisdom teeth removed - but when I did this past year they were all out in under 5 minutes. When Dr. Lund gives numbing shots he takes care to make sure they dont hurt! Ive also had braces in the past. Never wore my retainer and absolutely hated the whole process. Its no surprise that my teeth began shifting and I was soon left wondering what I should do. Im now using a series of retainers from ClearCorrect that Dr. Lund administrates himself. I love that I can get the ortho I need without having to leave my dentist. Its a one stop shop! I, like many others, have had to pay unanticipated out-of-pocket expenses for my dental care - however, it is very cut and dry that it was not due to a misjudgement from RRD. Insurance companies have quite the setup... Overall, the staff, location and affordability have made me a patient for life and Id highly recommend them to anyone around.
