I brought my 1 yr 2 month old kitten in for a well visit to follow up on an issue she had as a kitten. She was showing NO signs of ill health or issue. She was active, eating well, playful. No cause for concern. I thought I was being proactive by “staying on top of things” as a pet parent. Her xrays of her lungs were extremely good in comparison to her as a baby. She really was fine, no issues at all. Dr Alex Adler told me to put her on Theophylline just to try it to see if it would have any effect of her health in a positive manner. I asked her what she thought and she said “sure, why not” Not once was there ever a discussion about side effects or possible problems. I knew my precious baby was doing fine so I did not give her the meds right away. I felt like she really didn’t need them but 10 days later I said to myself the DR knows best, Ill try it.. On Sunday 8/13/2017 at 7:15 pm I gave her a pill, within 45 minutes she was screaming in pain and panting heavily. I rushed her to the emergency clinic and she died immediately. Needless to say we are heartbroken. Molly died a brutal death in pain, screaming, defecating on herself and heart pounding out of her chest all because of the medicine I was given without any knowledge of side effects told to me by the Doctor. The Vet on call at the emergency clinic stated her death could have been caused by the medicine but there was no way to know and as we all know most doctors will not go against another doctor sadly. The emergency clinic cost $400 because of the negligence of Woodbridge Veterinary Group. We are devastated. Molly had plenty of years left in her life and I never should have given her the medicine because she was perfectly fine, I just did what Dr Adler told me to do “ just to try it “ The next morning I went to Woodbridge Vet 8/14/17 at 8:15am where I saw Dr Barry Adler. I explained the situation in my hysterics because of the devastating disaster that had occurred and he was unapologetic, took no responsibility and basically said “ hey, stuff happens” Is this what a Doctor and owner of a million dollar practice says?? I believe his nature was unprofessional, combative, hostile and heartless, he even walked away from me in mid sentence because he just couldnt be bothered. I requested all of my medical records for my other pets and he refused to give them to me stating that “ he was under no obligation to give them to me at that time, I could come back” He honestly had no interest is myself, my beloved baby or the mess that occurred as a direct result of this medicine which I truly believe without one ounce of doubt killed my cat. The receptionist was nice enough to give my records to me which took 5 minutes to do so why Dr Barry Adler was so against doing that is beyond me, Perhaps hiding something or just too much of a heartless Dr to care. Probably both. AT this time, I still have not had one bit of communication from Dr Alex Adler to even offer condolences and she was my vet for years. So now I have a $400 bill from an emergency clinic for which im not even asking for restitution and a dead cat that died a horrible death because of this medication that I was never given any information about other than “it might be a good thing” The whole point to this is shouldnt Doctors be accountable for their actions as well as their demeanor? Doesnt it go hand in hand? How can you look at someone that lost their most prized possession due to the Veterinary suggestion of meds in absolute hysterics and be indignant and turn and walk away from them while they are still speaking?? Its shocking and appalling. Although I have doubts that this complaint will do anything it is the right thing to do to make someone aware of misconduct, negligence and being mislead about the medicine and the repercussions of the side effects.this little girl was taken way before her time due to a medicine that was really not needed and in turn caused her death and the cold hardheartedness of a Doctor and facility that could have cared less.

I had a wonderful experience with the people at Woodbridge Veterinary. I recently had to have my pet lovebird put down at the age of 19. When I called the vets, the lady who answered was very kind, and when I asked the cost, she found out, and told me it would be $30 for the euthanasia and $85 for an exam before the bird was put to sleep. This sounded very reasonable, as I supposed the exam must be done to ensure they are not putting a healthy bird to sleep, and the bird had not been abused. When I arrived, they were very carrying and understanding in the moment, knowing the emotion pet owners go through when having to make this ultimate move of compassion. Everyone in the office was outstanding, from the front office workers to the vet herself. She asked if she could take Rosie back to another vet to take a look at, and I assume this was the pre-exam, and she came back in a couple minutes with the bird. Rosie had always been very healthy, but when I woke up one day, she had suffered a stroke or something, and was just spinning on the bottom of the cage, unable to move her left side wing, and her left leg was in a horrible position, and grasping her wing bending it into an unnatural position….I knew this was an involuntary act, and feared she could grab and and do horrible damage to her left eye if I didn’t hold her every second. While at the office, the vet told me in detail everything that would happen after the needle was given to Rosie, and let me hold her as she took her final breaths. Afterward, when I went out front to pay before leaving with Rosie, they let me take her home to bury, I was told the cost, and pleasantly surprised they had not charged for the exam. I assume they saw the condition of the bird and knowing the age, a few years past the normal lifespan, knew the bird was in no condition to try to bring back with medical care, and had lived a good life. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would have to say that Rosie and I received “10” treatment from the initial contact, until I left the office. Thank you to all who worked that day, in making a very difficult and emotional experience a little easier!! Steve Frank

My boyfriends family has been coming here for years. Our first few months of experience was amazing. Sandy at the front desk is by far my favorite and my review and stars are not because of her. She is the reason I even give stars.i really liked everyone there a lot and enjoyed taking my puppy until My 11 month old puppy got injured. After an 2 ER visits they said we should go to our primary for xrays and surgical consultation. 2 weeks of my dog hurting and everyone telling us soft tissue damage. We knew that wasnt it. We went to woodbridge to see his vet. Instead of properly taking the time to do xrays, sedating him, they did basic xrays, not fully extending his hurt leg and said they dont see anything. Charged us a couple hundred dollars and sent us on our way... the very next day we saw our puppy getting worse. We decided to go to Red Bank in Tinton Falls. They couldnt believe our vet didnt take proper xrays. When they requested copies they told us that there was no way to see anything from the images from woodbridge because they never extended his leg completely. They took a sedated xray and boom there it was, a fractured femoral head. They knew by just examining him it wasnt soft tissue damage. They immediately took him into surgery and now he is slowely getting better. Now almost 2 months later, his primary vet has done absolutely nothing to follow up on him, his doggie day care calls us every week, but not 1 phone call from his vet. A full refund for the erroneous xray and visit should be given. Its fine that they are busy and dont call but what it shows me is they know they didnt do their job. Very disappointed and considering legally pursuing my money back. Of course I get cards telling me its time for his 1 year visit. At this time, we dont think we will be going back and instead will transfer him to Red Bank for his primary. If they even read these reviews it would be nice to get a follow up, a refund for service that we were charged for yet never really recieved.
