Id like to retract my statement for this hospital after my original visit on Sept 3, 2015. I gave them 4 stars. That day must have been a good day. Because I had to visit them twice in one week November 2nd and 5th. November 2, 2015 I was having severe abdominal pains, so my husband took me to the E.R. We waited approximately two hours in the waiting room. Then they took me into the back and put me into a #Room to see a #P.A. not a Physician a P.A. First the nurse comes in and says, we have a helicopter landing right now with a heart patient so we will need this room. We are going to move you out of this room (not even asking me what the problem was), so they put me in the hall and that’s where I stayed for 4 hours. They did treat me however, they hooked me up to an I.V. with saline and gave me pain meds. They also did a CT scan and other labs. Then on November 5th, I wasn’t having any relief, my PCP told me to go to the ER if I continued to have problems. So off to the ER again. This time was totally different. We waited along with all the other poor soles in the waiting room for some medical attention. When they took me back, they didn’t give me a gown nor did they hook me up to an I.V. However, this CT RUDE nurse (Becky) comes over to me and tells me to sit down in the wheel chair and raced me over to CT, STICKS a needle in my arm and proceeds to do the CT scan with contrast. I mean literally STUCK THE NEEDLE in my arm to the point that I jumped. She says “Oh don’t do that”, I said: “If I wanted to die I could have waited in the waiting room.” Terrible, terrible hospital. The patients that were in the hall ways had no gowns on. One guy had been in an ATV accident and he was still laying on the gurney with his clothes on and no I.V. after 3 hrs. I have never seen such terrible medical care. In fact the very first time I visited Mountain View Hospital, they called to check on me the very next day. That didn’t these last 2 times. I could go on and on about this place, however, it’s just a moot point. You all get it. September 2nd, 2015 - They took me in immediately, however there wasnt anyone in the waiting room until we left. They did multiple tests to find the source of pain and made me as comfortable as possible. Id recommend this hospital. The staff, Darrell (ED Tech), Nurse (Jennifer) and Shawn (P.A.) were very professional and quick to get the test results.

I went in the ER at 3am and it wasnt busy at all, only a sad looking family waiting. Im had severe chest pain and was crying. They took me behind where the receptionist desks were and took my blood. A husky, Hispanic male receptions the said, without an ounce of concern or empathy "why are you crying." I told him I was in pain and he grunted in reply. After a while I went back into a room and was left there in FREEZING temperatures. I asked for a blanket and a half hour later they bring a super thin one. Mind you Im overweight, I usually run warm all the time but the room was still so cold and the blanket so thin that it added to my suffering 2 fold! They told me it was a magnesium deficiency and hooked me up to an IV. The magnesium made me feel ill and storage but they said it would be fine. It took 5 hours for the IV to drain into me and at the end I was so cold I could feel myself becoming hysterical. When the IV was drained I begged them to unhook it and let me go home. They said they would but made me wait another hour. I was contemplating how I was going to remove the needle myself when the nurse came in and rudely unhooked me with some snarky comment I dont remember. I drove myself home, piled on the blankets, and had to take the whole day in bed to recover, not from my chest pain, which went away on its own, but from the hospital stay I had endured. How this hospital has any positive reviews at all is beyond me. I would have complained to the hospital manager but knew from the experiences of a friend and my mother that it would have absolutely no effect or good outcome. The medical care in las cruces is a sick joke. If your ill and have the means, move somewhere else.

My father went there for a simple surgery to clean out an artery in his neck. The surgery supposedly went well no stroke. Sometime during the night something happened, not a stroke. They put him on a ventilator and inserted a feeding tube. The feeding tube went through his duidum and punctured his intestine. For 6 days they didnt even know that they did this. Anything that they fed him as well as any medicine he was given through the tube went into his abdominal cavity as well as all the bacteria that leaked in from his intestines. Now two months later his liver failed and took out his kidneys, and he has pneumonia and most likely some sepsis is still in his system. Hes not going to survive. The person that did this to him is still working there. All the staff that Ive talked to are pushing for us to pull the plug. Must be a burden on the "Medical Center" He was a good man that wont get to see his new great granddaughter after she is born in the next couple of days. Do not take anyone that you care about to this place for treatment. I had to pick a star to post. I would not give them a star. Most of the nurses taking care of my father now are pretty professional...too little too late

My friend had a horrible miscarriage in the second trimester. She lost a lot of blood. We came into the ER, and she was crying and scared. The nurse literally said, "Ive had a miscarriage, and I wasnt behaving as badly as you are." They were rude and completely lacked compassion. When she got to OB, they said she nearly died from blood loss. She needed several blood transfusions. But yeah, the ER nurse said she was "overreacting." A year later, she went back to the ER because she had some abdominal pain. They ran standard labs and then took her for an ultrasound (she assumed for her cyst). The technician asked "so, which pregnancy is this?" She was confused. The tech asked, "didnt the doctor tell you that you are pregnant?!" The doctor neglected to mention that minor detail. Yeah, shes going to Memorial from now on. They lack compassion, basic human respect, and are the most incompetent bunch of "doctors" and "nurses" I have ever encountered. Cracker Jack had quite the business when they issued medical and nursing degrees to the Mountain View staff.

They get one star for only one good employee. This was a terrible visit to their ER. They dont communicate patient info from triage to RNs, or RNs to PAs. The sorry excuse for a medical professional laughed when I told her the duration of my pain. She suggested all of the medications I was already on, and this next sentence was a direct quote. "If you already had Xrays (from another clinic) and you have an appointment with a Gastrointestinal specialist... Then what do you expect or want us to do then?".... Asked if i had other issues, then laughed again when I answered her question! The tech was rough getting my IV in, and I was not treated with an ounce of respect. As a former employee of an ER, I know you can get frustrated with the perceived lack of severity, but absolutely doesnt mean to treat patients like they arent worth your time. At the end of it all the doctor had a realization, " Maybe there is something else wrong with you if the medications arent working.... Hmmm..." Duh! I didnt come to the ER because it is a fun place to be! DONT GO HERE!!!
