Do NOT come to this hospital...OR work here unless you need to..I am a former employee who worked here for 1 year and I was very unhappy as an employee...and very sympathetic to my patients who were often treated like drug dependent zombies..MIND YOU..these patients had sickle cell!!! Nurses often talked about patients conditions in a manner that was inappropriate to their care. They often singled you out if you werent best buddies with the supervisor..I had to apply for FMLA for my son which was granted...but my co-workers and supervisor made me feel as though I was wrong for having to be out. They often keep patients in for 2 weeks or more before they figure out what is wrong with you. Their doctor who normally treats sickle cell patients is incompetent and sometimes they are hospitalized for 2 months instead of helping them..he is making them so drug dependent that they cant function....sounds like healthcare fraud to me!!!!On top of everything else wrong...this hospital is in a $30 million dollar deficit in which they laid off a LOT of people to save money..BUT still managed to build a fountain at the front entrance and do the merger with Alamance...at the expense of workers jobs. They laid off the night shift secretaries...with ONLY a days notice...which increase the night shifts work load because then nurses/nurse techs had to do secretarial duties in addition to what we already had to do. As of OCT 1 weekend option premium pay was cut by 30%...so decrease employees compromises and reduces the quality of care for patients...This hospital normally has a good reputation..BUT its slowly decreasing with lower pay..and reduced hours..employees have NO incentive to work hard and efficient. Come here at your own risk.

This staff is the rudest hospital staff I have ever encountered! Last night I went for very bad abdominal pain. I got there around 6:15/6:30pm ish, they took my vitals and drew my blood for test. Around 10:30pm I go up to the counter and ask the wait time, the lady told me I had 10 people in front of me. I told myself that I would wait, because I already waited this long. Around 11:30 I went up there, a new front desk person was there and she told me there was no way to tell when you will be called back, due to people who is more urgent will always be the priority. Which I understand, but it was getting to the point where I looked around and I was there the longest out of everyone. So I asked if I could at least get my results, just to see if I am okay. So one of the nurses told me the normal stuff they look for is okay but I do have some critical red stuff in my results. At this point, I am like really, and she said I still had 2 people waiting to get a room and they are about to close one of the rooms for the night!!! I left upset and still in pain. People dont come to the emergency room for FUN, they come because they are in PAIN!!! I called this morning to see if they can give me my results over the phone, the floor manager named Kim said, No we can not do that over the phone. Again I understand, so I said, " I have to come up there again and wait for 6 hrs just to see my results, this rude lady said yes and hung up the phone. Absolutely the worst experience at the emergency room!

This hospital should be shut down. They dont pay attention to patients. My mom was in for pneuonoa , she was allergic to pennicillian. They gave her a shot anyway(IT WAS WRITTEN ON CHART< ALLERGIC TO PENNICILLIAN). If we hadnt been in the roon with her she would have died. In 2012 she was taken by ambulance to hospital for slight case of same thing, they wouldnt let us back there. said it would be 20 minutes. It was 45 minutes before they let my sister and I back there. We couldnt recognize her, she was swollen up so much, had big red spots all over her, tubes down her throat and eyes barely open. We asked what they had given her and they denied they gave her anything. It was on her chart they had given her pencillin again and she had gone into a COMA which she never came out of. They MURDERED own mother and denied it. Saw a lawyer, he took all her records to a specialist for this type thing. After a while, he flew in from Texas to talk to us about this. He said after all the evidence, we were right, they Killed our mother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by giving her that pneumonia shot. All the evidence was gone after she was buried or they would have had the biggest law suit they ever seen, so now tell me how great this hospital is. We relive it every day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had chest and kidney pain for weeks finally decided to go to the hospital chest started hurting so bad that Wesly Long was the closest to my home go there and went into the triage and been here every since took my chest X-ray quick no problem but Im still waiting for them to take my blood work and I know I told them my kidneys was also hurting. Mind you Im a diabetic and my blood sugar was 540 when they checked it. I guess theres no urgency in the emergency room I been here before but now I remember why I never came back. Oh and please dont be fooled by the color doesnt mean a thing because theres a white guy in here raising hell and theyre doing all they can to help him and he also says he has chest pain, but Im quiet as a mouse in a church but I get the rudest attitudes. I will be posting more its 6:36 got here at 5:36 still waiting on someone to take samples of my blood

I was traveling through the Greensboro, NC area and was experiencing pain from an infection. I stopped at the emergency room at this hospital where they proceeded to have me sit on a chair for....seven hours. After sitting for seven hours, they tried to con me into paying for an MRI and then a CT scan for a simple infection. When I refused, they did the simple blood work that was necessary. They billed me $2,000 for sitting in a chair for 7 GD hours and visiting with the Dr. for under a minute. A simple script of antibiotics and Im out two thousand dollars. Their billing department is IMPOSSIBLE to communicate with, and the separate billing for the Dr. is even worse. Horrid. Healthcare in this country is broken by greed. Cant wait to watch the system fall apart and listen to the poor millionaire doctors complain about their woes.

I went to this hospital last night 5/25/10 I was not waiting long. They put me into fast track, guess they wanted me out of there fast. I got the worse doctor I have ever had. I have never in my life been treated like I was by another human being! His name was Dr.Micheal Fortner, he never asked me what was wrong. He just talked at me the whole time I was in the room waiting. He ordered an x-ray on my back and neck. That was what I went in for, chronic back pain. I have been dealing with this for years. To make things short and sweet he never listen to me, never treated me with any compassion or caring. He made me feel as thought I was coming in there for drugs. I was in Major pain or I would of never went in the first place. I would never let anyone I care about or even know go into that place. Theresa Worley
