This dental office is top notch. I had been going to the same dentist in Sandusky, Ohio for 15 years-it was someone I went to high school with and felt comfortable using. When I moved to Avon Lake last year, I decided to find a dentist closer to home. I chose Avon Dental Care based on reviews I read. I have not been disappointed. Dr. Hughes is a very knowledgeable dentist and his hygienists and administrative staff are all knowledgeable and professional. They have helped me to understand my dental issues better and they work with me to find solutions in a way that works for me and my checkbook. Today I went in complaining of a toothache. They could have easily replaced fillings or suggested other expensive work. Instead, Dr. Hughes and I discussed something to consider down the road as a long-term solution. He patiently explained the reasons behind his recommendation. I ask a lot of questions and since I dont have dental insurance, do not want to do anything that is not necessary or worthwhile for my teeth. I feel confident that Dr. Hughes and his staff work to provide an individualized care plan for each patient. I highly recommend this dental office.

There IS a difference in Dentists! After each appointment when work was done on my teen-aged sons, the DENTIST, not the receptionist ( although they are MOST professional and friendly as well ) called to be sure they were doing well. When my one son had some pain after a filling we were going to cancel the appointment to have the other one filled the following week so he didnt have pain on both sides of his mouth--but instead they suggested for him to keep the appointment and come in to have the Doctor look at it. The dentist checked his bite and made some minor modifications and the pain subsided the following day. Great atmosphere, friendly people who appreciate their patients, and WOW--Weekend AND after-hour appointments available!!! We found a TRUE gem in Avon, would drive from the East Side if we had to. More good things to say, but youll have to visit them to know first hand.

Very professional with a "family" mentality and setting. I just started going to this dentist late in 2012 and couldnt be happier. Dr. Hughes gave me his personal cell number in case of an emergency. I get email reminders of appointments and they seem to be adding new communication abilities such as this G+ page, a button in emails to add appointments to your calendar. etc. I like being paperless and I love anything done through Android (Google). My hygienist made sure she was the one working all my appointments. She worked with my schedule and made everything happen. Like I said, I couldnt be happier with this entire office. ~Jason

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Prueter at Avon Dental starting last year, and weve had great service from the ease of making an appointment with flexible hours, to the check in process, courteous receptionists, professional and personable dental hygienists and dentist. We found this place as it was geographically near to us when we temporarily lived in Avon for a very short period, but now we make the trip out of the way to stay with Avon Dental for their excellent service, as well as a well streamlined and efficient process Ive felt like theyre most invested in my health than I am at times :)

Five stars. Five star service, work, and all the extras. I was skeptical because the office is much fancier than my last dentists was. I was afraid it would lack the friendliness and family atmosphere that places like dentist offices need. I enjoy coming here. I enjoy everyone on the staff, and am always treated very well. They as equally as wonderful to my young kids. They have such patience and a genuine kindness with the kids. I would recommend Avon Dental Cars to anyone from kids to nervous adults.

Great experience at Dr. Hughes office. The entire staff was more than friendly and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The office is extremely neat, organized, and up to date. The TVs in the dental rooms make it extremely easy for patients to view their x-rays and photos. I left with the feeling that I found the perfect dentist for me. I had the best experience I ever had at the dentist!

Been seeing Dr. Hughes for many many years. Even when I moved out of town, I tried a new dentist local to my new location - but ended up going out of town to visit Dr. Hughess office. this is absolutely because he is just that awesome of a Dentist. You will enjoy going to the dentist - you will never have any apprehensions. His Staff is just as caring and compassionate as he is.

I brought all four of my kids (ages 13, 7, 5, 2 ) and everything was fantastic. The staff took great care of all of us and even the youngest kids enjoyed their experience. We all enjoyed the heated, massage chairs and the kids LOVED being able to watch cartoons during the cleanings. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Going to the dentist is always terrible for me. With Avon Dental Care everyone was so wonderful. The woman who cleaned my teeth was so kind. She asked me if I was comfortable and if I needed my mouth to be rinsed extra. My teeth cleaning was great and the environment was warm and welcoming. Definitely will continue going there.

Do not go here. They lie and tell you that thwy accept your insurance but they dont tell you that they are not in network. To lure you in.after your service is done they than bill you for half and sometimes even more than half your bill. They are overly priced and dr. Hughes treats his employees poorly.

The visit was very comfortable. All were quite welcoming & friendly. Doctor was professional & handled my concerns well. Overall a five star rating for all. Especially the trainee. She has a nice smile & seemed genuinely concerned with my problem. ( As did everyone else)
