I was hospitalized at the Euclid Hospital with a gallstones attack. It felt like chest pain so I called 911 and was brought to the ER. Once there, I was transported to a room and pretty much left alone. Hooked to all kinds of tubes with both side rails up, I could barely do anything but wait. What more, a call light was hanging up on one of the side rails backwards, but no one explained to me what it was for; luckily I happened to know, much good it did anyway. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A while later I am screaming in pain and pushing the call light button, to no avail. Then an EKG tech walks in and rather nonchalantly says, "Your call light is on", and then he proceeds turning it off. I tried to explain that I turned it on for a reason - falls on deaf ears. Then he finally is done and leaves; here I am all alone without any food or drink offered. Cant even go to the bathroom with all the tubes & the side rails up, and my calls for help are ignored. This seemed to take forever. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Finally all the tests are said & done, my diagnosis is explained, and I am wheeled all the way up to the 9th floor. Once in my assigned room, I am being told to wait good a few hours for my medications. Being assertive helps, and I get my meds much sooner. This whole ordeal turned out due to the ER working understaffed - can you believe it? The floor works short-staffed just as well. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I was kept overnight and was grateful to finally be able to go home. Had my gallbladder removed about a month later, Dr Slawinski did a terrific job on that one, hope to never land in this hospital again. I dont recommend staying in this hospital; if you can help it, try going elsewhere. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (couldnt use paragraphs on this site, try all I might, so did the next best thing)

I, among thousands of other Baby Boomers, was born here @ Euclid "Glenville" Hospital--its name in 1960--I want to have lunch or supper there on my birthday November 4th. The view of Lake Erie is wonderful from the cafeteria. I hope the food is good. I was able to see the old OB floor, as it is now Pain Management on the 3rd floor. Its clean, and the care always is given by very nice people.

Whatever you do, Skip this hospital. Staff is rude. I called to ask for a patient and a staff member named "AJ" just out done me. I hate going to see anybody at this place because of the staff.

The hospital is dirty and understaffed. The staff that is there is always laying and playing around leaving patients in cold rooms

Had to go to the emergency room at 4 am. I was greeted with nothing but kindness. I was seen and treated right away.
