While my 83 year old father was in ICU after a triple bypass, he was treated horribly by a black nurse named Brenda. My father came out of his anesthesia very quickly and asked if he could watch the TV that Brenda was watching so he didnt just have to lay there and look at the glaringly bright ceiling. Brenda made some rude and nasty comments and looked threateningly at my poor old father. He was so frightened that she would kill him during the night that he made himself stay awake to make sure she didnt put something in his IV. Whether Brenda had sinister intentions or not, her actions caused a frail old man who had just gone through a huge trauma to fear for his life and probably prolonged his recovery because of that first nightmarish night. The other nurses (male and female) were fighting and arguing loudly and there was some commotion that upset him further. His time on the heart floor was a little better but not much. This hospital is not well run - its too bad the really good doctors are there. Never saw the doctor once after surgery. It was like we were on our own after the surgery. My sister and I spent the night that first night and went to check on him around two and we couldnt believe how many non-employees were hanging around the hallways. It looked like drug deals were going down on every floor. We got him out of that giant cesspool as soon as we could.

Someone on here had a complaint about a rude nurse..... You just had to say that she was black! Then you mentioned drug deals in the hallways. Sounds like youre a little prejudice. It didnt matter what color she was because rude is just rude. By the way Ive worked at Baylor for the last 5 yrs and yes Im African American. If there is to much color there for you..... Please stay away! It might be in your best interest to do so! Prejudice people should be done away with all over the world!

Good close hospital but full of what it looks like to be nurses coming out high school / college. Still full of school spirit / high school drama. I personally overhead the nurses on duty talking about my wife coming in and what was going on with her since this was not her hospital. Whatever happen to be professional, period.
