My experience at Fairfield pet hospital was disturbing to say the least. My 12 pound 14 year old poodle was diagnosed with congestive heart failure with a chest xray. He also was carrying 4 extra pounds of water weight which a diuretic would have taken care of. The vet would not give me any medication for my sick dog unless I agreed for them to perform surgery and do a centesis to tap the heart and more money to analyze the fluid if they got any. They proceeded to inform me that they would euthanize him for a fee when I felt ready. I took my dog home and the next day called to make the appointment for the euthanasia because my dog couldnt hardly breathe with so much fluid in his lungs and heart and I didnt want him to be suffering. Before the appointment he rebounded and met me at the door that evening and seemed a little better so I cancelled the appointment. Two days later on the advise of a caring neighbor I took him for a second opinion to a vet in somerset. Dr. Fine was so upset that Fairfield had made the diagnosis and refused to give me medicine for my pet. So I am writing this review to warn anyone with a pet family member that is sick to not use Fairfield pet Hospital because they do not care about you or your pet, they only care about charging you money for services that you dont need. I am happy to announce that my pet is running and playing like he used to before he got sick with heart failure. Yes he has to take 2 heart medicines and lasix for fluid for the rest of his life, But the important thing here is that I did not have him KILLED by negligent vets that would not provide the needed medication for him to feel better and have a great quality of life in his remaining years, however many that my be. On Friday evening, we did not see our 21-year old cat, Zack, laying on the driveway. Unfortunately, we backed over him. He was in really bad shape, and we knew he could not be saved, but we did not want him to suffer. Although the Fairfield Pet Hospital was closed, we put a call into the doctor on call. Not only did Dr. Smalley call us back within 2-3 minutes, but she was still at the clinic and told us to bring Zack right in. Both Chris and Dr. Smalley were waiting on us, confirmed Zacks condition, and put him to rest. They were extremely compassionate and caring, despite the late hour. We always receive tremendous service at Fairfield Pet Hospital, but we are extremely appreciative of responsive and caring treatment we received the other evening. Thank you Dr. Smalley and Chris!

If you are searching for quality, compassionate, affordable care for your pet, Fairfield Pet Hospital should be at the top of your list. Our dog had complications a few days after routine elective surgery. She needed emergency repair surgery and inpatient care. There were many moments when we didnt think she would pull through. Dr. Vaughan never stopped fighting for our dog. She worked very closely with us throughout the emotional times, and her expertise is unmatched. Our little dog is still with us today because of the love and individual attention Dr. Vaughan showed her when she needed it most. The staff is also remarkably kind and supportive. The overall care provided is above and beyond what we expected, and I could not trust my pets with any other office.

Great doctors and staff! Knowledgeable and compassionate...they always follow up after any appointment to make sure our animals are doing ok...cant say enough about them! Always willing to fit us in for regular appointments and our "get us in quick--were worried" appointments! They have guided us through: a dog with cancer, another dog who liked to swallow rocks, a cat who broke her leg in a trap, another cat who was sick with a blood disease, boarding dogs while we are on vacation...and many more things! We would recommend them to anyone looking for care for their pets!

My 13 yr old lab was getting very bad and I took him to have him put down before he could no longer walk. The drs and staff were exceptional. Their concern for luckys comfort was outstanding. Their compassion for my family was indescribable. I will never take my pets anywhere else. These people are fantastic. Lucky was so lucky to have them.
